team setup

I want to make a whole new team, but as far as how many special sweepers or tanks their should be I am pretty clueless

So how should a team be set up(just as far as roles go)

bossman34 August 16th, 2007 1:39 PM

well mine is 2 special sweepers, 2 physical sweepers, a physical wall, and special wall. more of an attacking team. a well balancd team is a physical sweeper, a special sweeper, a mixed sweeper, a special wall, a physical wall, and a tank/support/baton passer. thats a very balanced team. they should have more than one role too. for ex. a wall can have moves like roar, spikes, stealth rock, rapid spin etc which helps alot.

no no.

Physical Sweeper
Special Sweeper
Special Wall
Physical Wall
Annoyer
Tank/Spikespinner/Baton Passer

Well, everyone has their own strategies...

For me, its..

Physical Sweeper(Dragonite)
Physical Sweeper(Weavile)
Physical Tank(Tyranitar)
Special Tank(Spiritomb)
Special Tank(BlisseY)
Physical Tank(Snorlax)

Tanks can sweep too, if you give them right movesets.

The most balanced would be

Physical Sweeper
Special Sweeper
Physical Wall
Special Wall
Rapid Spinner/Baton Passer
Physichal/Special Tank.

Yeah, I am trying to use:

Physical Wall
Special Wall
Special Tank
Physical Tank
Support Pokemon
Support Pokemon

I like to have the members of my team have the ability to take a hit, so I use this format. Really depends for each person though.

Dispiacere August 16th, 2007 5:36 PM

what would you suggest for a defensive team?

Anti August 16th, 2007 5:53 PM

What I posted. It is a defense orriented team. The support pokemon can be almost anything. Just make sure you have pokemon who can cause direct damage, like TTar. Plus it can take a hit. Same goes for Metagross.

bossman34 August 16th, 2007 7:00 PM

yah.. and also annoyers fail in 4th gen. my team is more attack oriented. but its all your decision

Shiraishi August 16th, 2007 7:10 PM

I think finding pokemon who fufill 2-3 roles at once works great.

Swampert-Physical Sweeper/Tank
Salamence-Physical Sweeper
Electivire-Phyiscal Sweeper
Starmie-Special Sweeper
Forretress-Physical Wall/Rapid spinner/Spiker
Togekiss-Annoyer/Somewhat special sweeper/Special wall

Thats my team :/ I have lots of sweepers but I have my defenses covered. Also, it's quite hard to wall mence and electivire. XD

Lephisto August 16th, 2007 8:14 PM

my style is:

3 Physical Sweeper
1 Special Tank
1 Defense/Special Wall/ Annoyer
1 Baton passer/ Special sweeper

Anti August 16th, 2007 8:27 PM

That is a good offensive style, though wouldn't one special sweeper be good? I like that setup though.
