Thunder Wave over Ice Beam, other than that it's fine.

sommeramaryllis August 28th, 2007 1:23 PM

Woooooow. So much HP. xD

That's awesome~

.Brendan August 29th, 2007 4:52 AM

thunder wave instead of ice beam

spike6958 August 29th, 2007 12:54 PM

No way Ice Beam kick's some major ass, thunder wave sucks for my Blissey

Towlie August 29th, 2007 1:28 PM

Thunder Wave over Aromatherapy.

The standard, really boring Blissey. Seriously, is there a point to this thread? Doesn't take a genius to get a Blissey right.

actully the standard has Thunder Wave over Ice Beam

Towlie August 29th, 2007 4:05 PM

In 3rd Generation, yea. Not in 4th generation. Aromatherapy isn't used that much in D/P because most teams have status absorbers.

Twin Mewtwo August 29th, 2007 4:24 PM

the blissey isnt ev trained is it?

Even with status absorbers, Aroma/Heal Bell is useful.

Actually this gen I have to say it is Ice Beam/Thunde Wave. Blissey is totaly screwed going up against a ghost. It will die if it Thunder Waves an Electrive. Garchomp is an easy switch in etc.

Not bad. 21 IVs in HP and 26 IVs in defense. But most people try to shoot for the 714/130.

Towlie August 29th, 2007 5:30 PM

Yea, aroma is useful, but not needed on most teams. You can also use Sing as an option over Thunder Wave.

Punishment August 29th, 2007 5:33 PM

With 55% accuracy and sleep clause I would never recommend it over Ice Beam and Thunder Wave. Though bad she can't learn Stun Spore. XD

n3croart August 29th, 2007 10:24 PM

Nice Blissey. Oh, standard 3rd gen bliss is:

Blissey @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SDef
Bold Nature
- Arometherapy
- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss
- Softboiled

the other standard -

bliss @ leftovers
EVs: 212 HP / 240 def / 56 SAtk
bold
- arometherapy
- ice beam
- seismic toss
- softboiled

there.

Azonic August 30th, 2007 3:48 AM

Eh... Aromatherapy isn't used as much in DP anymore.

Softboiled
Seismic Toss
Stealth Rock
Thunderwave

Punishment August 30th, 2007 7:09 AM

Stealth Rock shouldn't be on a Blissey. She has better things to use like Ice Beam for instance. Another one is Thunderbolt if you aren't running Thunder Wave.

DayDreamer August 30th, 2007 8:40 AM

I say get rid of aroma and breed a Blissey with counter instead. The best way to support a team is to reduce the the amount of enemies lol.

*Blissey is my favorite Pokémon... whooooo*

For me, I don't want Aromatherapy or Seismic Toss on Blissey anymore. Seismic Toss Blissey is so hard to get; I think the only way to do so is to migrate it from GBA. On the other hand, Aromatherapy needs you to make a Lv. 50+ male Roselia. Waste of time...

Wait! Doesn't Heal Bell do the same thing as Aromatherapy? The best way is to get a male Skitty (it learns Heal Bell pretty early), but even that may be hard.

No, I decided to remove them altogether. Based on the ever-helpful Serebii.net to which I am eternally grateful, I decided to pursue this set:

Blissey @Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
EV's: 4 HP/252 Def/252 SA
Sing/Calm Mind
Softboiled
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

I know there's Sleep Clause, but Sing is still very essential to take out physical sweepers like Garchomp and Rhyperior. Despite the 55% accuracy, it can be remedied with either Wide Lens or Zoom Lens, though it's not worth the Leftovers sacrifice. Bolt-beam is resisted by only a few Pokémon, but other Special Walls will laugh at Blissey for it. That's why there's the possibility of Calm Mind. Keep Bliss healthy and use 6 Calm Minds, and you're off.

Another set is:

Blissey @Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest
EV's: 4 HP/252 Def/252 SA
Sing
Softboiled
Ice Beam
Charge Beam

Charge Beam may not be very good in terms of base damage, but it has a 70% chance of raising Special Attack, which makes it ALL THE TIME with Serene Grace. With a maximum of 273 SA at Modest and 31 IV's, this Blissey will also be a force to be reckoned with.

Im not really sure about Calm Mind Blissey, i find it dies rather quickly.

Heal Bell i think doesnt work with Soundproof (Although its not a common ability, this should be taken into consideration)

I use the standard

[email protected]
Bold Nature
252 HP 252 DEF 6 SP.ATT
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Softboiled

Blissey really doesnt need Aromatherapy or Heal Bell IMO , as its got Natural Cure ability anyway so you can just switch this in when you predict a status infliction.

I find when using this, no matter what, Use Siesmic toss or Ice Beam first, as it usually lures out Jolteon, Electivire, Garchomp etc, which makes Thunderwave useless, so just look to see what they send out to resist Thunderwave, because if your opponent is a remotely good player they will expect Thunderwave.

Yes and Sing is an option, but the accuracy really sucks, IMO sing could of done with an accuracy boost, just like Hypnosis in this gen.
