Closed

Just a QQ about closing, whats the point of it. I mean, it doesn't stop people from seeing it. I can think of one reason. Its an inappropriate thread. yes, i strongly agree with that, but I have seen other perfectly reasonable threads, but there were closed? I'm just asking why, and i appoligise for any negativity in this thread

Uh, First of all....A Closing wasn't build to stop people from seeing it..It's to stop people from posting IN it
Second, Some appropriate Threads can be closed because:
- Some SPAMming
- A Person Revived it
- And Close as par as the User's Request
That's the Reasons I think...O_o

what has spamming and people reviving it got to do with the price of fish?

If People are SPAMming too much, Mods will have to Close the Thread so it will Stop the SPAMming and so as Flamming
For Reviving Threads, It's in the Rule So They have to Close it

I get spamming, just boot them out, people don't have to suffer for the circumstances of spammers, and whats so bad about reviving?

Reviving Threads that is more than 30 Days...Not, Reviving after 2 days of Inactivity
And Check the Rules if you need to know why...I think O_o

If a thread is breaking the rules, it will be closed or deleted, depending on the situation. It has always been like that, and will always be like that.
Whether you think a thread is "reasonable" or not doesn't really matter, because it's the Mod's call what they do with it.
If they see it fitting in their forum, nothing will happen. If another forum would be better suited, it will be moved. And if it's a rule breaking/inappropriate thread (in the Moderator's opinion), it will be closed/deleted.

You know what a lock prevents? "OMG THIS SHOULD BE CLOSED", "OMG YOU'RE SUCH A NOOB THIS DOESN'T BELONG HERE", "OMG THIS IS SICK GO HOME", etc.
Also, it prevents things in a thread from escallating further. If a thread has turned into nothing more but a flamewar spam fest, what's the point of keeping it open? None. The people that were interested in it will leave it, because of the things that went on, and it will die down.

We have a revival period of 30 days, if a thread has been inactive for that amount of time, you can consider it dead, meaning, people have no more interest in it.
If you really want to discuss the matter of such a thread, just create a new fresh one.
Why go against things when they can easily be avoided?
