Shuld i ev train?

i hav a shiny unown i caught. my first and only shiny. is it worth ev training. if it is, how do i?

AnimeDDR110 August 30th, 2007 6:19 PM

no. don't ever ev train unown. they only know one move. it is not worth it. keep it untouched and trade it for something bigger.

Wheelz4speed August 30th, 2007 6:23 PM

ks any tips on shiny catching

AnimeDDR110 August 30th, 2007 6:25 PM

read the chaining facts. otherwise the odds of seeing any other shiny are 1/8192.

Wheelz4speed August 30th, 2007 6:29 PM

urg that just bites.......
what is good to ev train? i wanna learn.............
maybe a manaphy or phione?

AnimeDDR110 August 30th, 2007 6:32 PM

no. lets just say legends aren't good on ev training.

i would personally ev train a weavile. the thing has excellent attack & speed (if i'm right, highest no-legend speeder in the game), and if you have the right nature, it gets better.

i would also ev train your starter. be with it til the end.

Simmons_2.0 August 30th, 2007 6:33 PM

no. Stuff like, Gallade, Weavile, Garchomp, Dragonite, Infernape, Tangrowth and some others.

AnimeDDR110 August 30th, 2007 6:39 PM

and forteress and gyarados. ev train it in def. and hp. let dragon dance during the battle, and then wipe the floor with it. with forteress, toxic spikes is great, abnd if your about to die just explode.

or shuckle

ok

gyro ball+power trick=one of the greatest pokemon you will ever see.

we all know shuckle has horrible attack & speed, but gyro ball and bad speed can do a little damage. unfortunately, it could do more with power trick. a nasty little move that switches attack & defense, now your shuckle will have the best attack you might ever see on a pokemon. plus gyro ball=wiping the floor. unfortunately, this does limits shuckle time in battle a little.

plus throw in toxic, rest and a chesto berry will make shuckle last a while.

Wheelz4speed August 30th, 2007 6:42 PM

oh i see................... now i need to c if i hav untouched ones....... how do u calculate evs......

pm_41 August 30th, 2007 6:43 PM

(Should this be in the EV-training Sticky?)

You can EV-Train a legend...It's just harder.

As for a suggestion, I'd say Bronzong. IF you get good EVs in HP and Attack with horrible IVs in speed, it can withstand a good attack from an opponent and Gyro Ball will be super powerful!

Simmons_2.0 August 30th, 2007 6:43 PM

Bronzong does that a bit better but with Iron ball and Heatproof.

Wheelz4speed August 30th, 2007 6:45 PM

ive look at the sticky..... i need the idiots version of calculating

i completely forgot about bronzong! it is only weak too one type (unless you have heatproof, then two). but most people know bronzong would have levitate, so ground types aren't usually used. also gyro ball is good on tyranitar & rypherior.

Simmons_2.0 August 30th, 2007 6:56 PM

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Adamant/Lonely: 252 atk, 252 spd, 6 hp
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Fang/Fire Blast
Stone Edge

omg mommy. This will destroy unsuspecting and unprepared teams. x.x

Favorite Garchomp set ever. credit WiseLugia.

Wheelz4speed August 30th, 2007 6:56 PM

ya it is good........ my latios beats every other e4 poke easy..... just not him

Craig² August 30th, 2007 8:22 PM

I wouldn't EV Train an Unown, it'd be a useless waste of time..Even if it is a shiny. If you really want a Shiny, look for one on the trade forums or chain for it. If I were you, I'd invest time in training a Garchomp or a Spiritomb or a Tyranitar...Those guys are <3. If you want a sweeper train Weavile, if you want an annoyer go with Umbreon, and my brain is failing me right now so I can't think of anymore and I'm forgetting the correct natures for Annoying Umbreon and Sweeper Weavile. @[email protected] *hits head*

OMG that set is ftw (the one from WiseLugia)

It isnt worth EV training anything you dont plan on keeping. I ev'd my torterra and my Gyarados, but i didnt plan on keeping the rest.

Wheelz4speed August 31st, 2007 11:34 AM

k i got a lv 1 untouched karp? any good ideas

sims796 August 31st, 2007 11:45 AM

Ok, listen up. We can't tell you what to EV train. Whatever YOU want to use on your team can & should be EV trained. I see all these people telling you the best to EV train, and it makes no sense. If you want us to pick out some pokes for you to train, go to the "Request a Team" thread. They will pick out of the 493 pokes which ones you should use. Otherwise, pick out what you want, and we'll give you an EV spread. But ALL pokes-legend, uber, or not-can be EV trained. Whether a poke is worth it is a different question. And Unown is not.
