Pokemon Opal (Fake)

Ok well the thread that was discussing the legitimacy of Pokemon Opal has disappeared, despite the fact some things were still being discussed. I am just following on from what was being discussed in that thread.

I've googled it and all the links go to various forums and it seems that its a fake version from what I have read. Nobody is able to provide an official link to anything.

This is the pic of the cover, which is fake apparently. It does look good though.

One thing though, Nintendo does seem to have reserved www.pokemonopal.com for future use. The link just goes straight to the Nintendo America website I think it was.

Just thought I'd inform :) Close this, delete this, do whatever you want with the thread, just thought I'd help to quell the rumours.

EDIT: I just realised this is probably the wrong forum for the topic, probably better off in Pokemon General. My apologies.

Hmm, It does seem that nintendo has the page revserved..

Well, nintendo has been working on the new mystery dungeon games, and I dont think they would work on a third D/P until around christmas time. But maybe they have been working on it.

Got Damnit, just *everyone* drop the idea of a third D/P. It's a waste of time. Thank God this thing is fake.

Someone could easily have bought that domain and forwarded it to nintendo.com, you know...

rocklee666 September 2nd, 2007 9:42 AM

um if these game are hacks, how exactly do they get it on a DS game card?

Ichida September 2nd, 2007 9:59 AM

The same way Nintendo puts them on cartridges, or the way people get ROMs on the R4DS. There are always ways to duplicate stuff like that.

(And yeah, this thread would probably be better suited in the DS Pokemon Games subforum under Other Pokemon Games.)

I'm pretty sure you're right. Nintendo files hundreds of patents for ideas every year and most of them aren't ever used. So it's not surprising that they'd register a lot of different domains, too. It's better to register every potential domain now instead of trying to buy it off of someone at a later date.

Nintendo also tends to purchase domains that are (or were) in use if there's the potential of users coming across it looking for a Nintendo product. For instance...

Zelda.com was once a porn site. It is now the official Zelda game series site.
