Need help for my team (Walls specifically..)

Well i jus got my but kicked by a good offensive/defensive team and the reason why i lost was because i lack defense....in my whole party.

Here's basically what i've narrowed it down to in the physical department-

Tangrowth
Gliscor

Tangrowth i actually use stun spore instead of sleep becuase sleep they'll eventually wake up and stun spore i could do that all day. Makes physical hits like nothing.

Gliscor is more offensive, and it's actually pretty fast. It dont take physical hits as good as tangrowth does, but it does wall.

I'm actually leaning more towards tangrowth for this one to be honest.

And for a special wall....to be honest the only special wall i can think of right now is Blissey but i dont wana use it, mainly becuz everyone seems to hate and i dont rly feel like using it so are there any other good special walls out there??

All posts and suggestions welcomed ;)

Umm I have been recommended a Snorlax as a Special wall choice, and if you don't have many eletric weaknesses in your team you can try Milotic.

Faceless* September 3rd, 2007 4:31 AM

Mixed walls in my recommendations, MANY sweepers, many players are starting to hate being walled, they WILL give sweepers and unexpected move, like Thunderbolt on Electivire (Electivire: HAH! I bet you didnt see that coming Skarmory! :P) I will give you Milotic, Umbreon, or Dusknoir. I make my Dusknoir a special wall with Reflect(Light Clay) support ^^

You're party should have at least 3 sweepers, 2 walls, and 1 sustainer, in case things take a turn for the worst. The best sustainer is Blissey right now, but it lacks a lot in other stats.

a sustainer??ive never heard of one of those before...

right now ive got 4 sweeps, 1 phys wall(of one of the above) and an empty space for a special wall...but really what's a sustainer?

Breed with misdreavus, who learns it at level 28.

Roost is also an option on Gliscor if you already have a Rocker

Spiritomb has no weaknesses but it has awful stats. Don't use it. As a mixed wall, I think Shuckle has some potential with Power Trick when facing a Sweeper, and its HP isn't all that bad for having such high defence and Sp. def. Try this:

Careful [email protected]
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
Power Trick
Gyro Ball
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge

That set should be able to stop sweepers in their tracks, if set up right.

Brongzong, Perhaps?

Brongzong @:Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
Relaxed Nature

Azonic September 3rd, 2007 3:56 PM

This is also defensive Tangrowth

[email protected]
Trait: Leaf Guard
Nature: Keep forgetting -_-
EVs: 252 HP/ 172 DEF/80 ATK

Earthquake
Powerwhip
Sleep Powder
Knock Off

EDIT: rofl Shuckle. Shuckle sucks UNLESS you make it a physical sweeper(ask me).

power trick shuckle...tha actually sounds like it's got some real potential...thing is though he's instantly dead after he uses it since his base HP is 20.....

i like stun spore over sleep powder because with sleep they can wake up and ruin my day randomly (plus sleep clause...) and while their stunned tangrowth can have a field day.
Other then that i...once again...have the same moveset.
And mines relaxed nature so it's fine =P

Azonic September 3rd, 2007 3:58 PM

Power Trick Shuckle sucks unless you have a pokemon that learns Trick Room.

However, Shuckles base attack and sp. attack are 10, so odds are the sweeper you're facing won't be able to hit Shuckle after Power Trick. After that, you can set up SR if you want to or sweep away with Stone Edge and Gyro Ball.

Yet another sp. wall to the rescue.

Claydol @:Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
Bold Nature
Psychic
Explosion
Stealth Rock/Rapid Spin
Calm Mind.

Azonic September 3rd, 2007 4:04 PM

Ppl read my post. Shuckle sucks.

20 HP is easily KO'd, its less than half of Bidoof's HP 0.0

PowerTrick Shuckle fails. Any pokemon with one unexpected physical blow will knock it out. Unless you get trick room, thats a different story
