Sand Streamers
I know... I know... Tyranitar is all over the place. I DON'T like that TyraniBOAH or whatever its called, so please don't suggest it. Tyranitar COULD be replaced with Hippowdon. It's mainly on the team for Sandstorm support. So far, this is what I have:
[email protected] Nature: Adamant Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP, 172 Attack, 84 Defense Rock Slide Crunch Focus Punch Substitute I know. This one is kind of weird and unique. But does that mean its ineffective? [email protected] Orb Nature: Adamant Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 200 HP, 156 Attack, 152 Defense Earthquake Ice Fang Slack Off Curse I love the hippo. Help me! |
I hate SubPunchers :(
[email protected]/Life Orb/CB Trait: o idk, water veil? Nature: Adamant Evs: 252 ATK/172 HP/ 80 DEF Avalanche Stone Edge Earthquake Crunch |
How does my Hippowdon look? Is that an applicable move set for it?
|
Hippowdon needs Leftovers. He's not as much an attacker as he is a physical wall. Your moveset is fine, but your EVs and nature are mixed up. Impish Nature on it, with 252 Hp, 252 Def, 4 Atk works fine.
|
I reckon Thunder fang over Ice fang for Hippowdon, as you will probably get more water types attacking Hippowdon than you will grass types.
|
subpunching ttar is popular, but it is usually mixed, and known as tyraniboah XDD:
Tyranitar @ Life Orb/Expert Belt/Leftovers/Lum Berry Rash Nature (+Sp Atk, -Sp Def) 240 SP ATK/64 ATK/204 SPD or HP -Dark Pulse -Flamethrower/Thunderbolt -Focus Punch -Substitute having focus punch w/o special options is a really bad idea. ttar will get walled and you will hate yourself for it. dark + fire + fighting covers everything. if you want it to be just physical and actually do physical SWEEPING, then here's what i suggest: Tyranitar @ Chople Berry Impish Nature 192 HP/172 DEF/144 SPD -Crunch -Fire Fang -Dragon Dance -Taunt even this physical setup isn't safe. fire fang can miss and is very weak in power. only reason why i suggest it is because it covers everything except heatran, who might not do much to you with Earth Power anyway. ttar needs at least 3 dragon dances to take on walls like Hippo and Gliscor. i don't like this moveset myself, but it's the only strictly physical moveset that works that isn't Choice Banded. so my suggestion: go mixed, or go Choice Band. for Hippo, i suggest the following: Hippowdon @ Leftovers/Enigma Berry/Lum Berry Careful/Sassy Nature 200 HP/188 SP DEF/96 DEF/24 ATK -Earthquake -Ice Fang -Curse/Stealth Rock -Slack Off stalls with curse + slack off. very efficient. once it is done with its stalling (hopefully you don't get any critical hits), after 3 or so curses, it sweeps. |
Samson, can I say I'm in love with you. XD Just kidding. Thanks though. On Tyraniboah, can I replace Dark Pulse with Crunch? Or is that a no-no?
|
you can but i wouldn't suggest it. with that ev setup, its Atk and Sp Atk stats are almost identical. it's really just a matter of what you prefer. thing is Dark Pulse does more damage to physical walls like Gliscor because of STAB. on the other hand, Crunch does more damage to Gengar and the like.
|
Whose more prominent? Gliscor or Gengar? From what I understand, Gengar is one of the more common Special Sweepers right. Oops, my inexperience is showing. *pulls up zipper*
|
gengar is way more prominent as a starter with hypnosis, so either way, it doesn't really matter. it's really just about who threatens your team more: special-oriented pokes with higher lower defense, or physical pokes with lower special defense.
or hell, if you have a reason to like one's battle animation better than the others, then that's reason enough to choose it XD |
Well, I do love the sound effect when Dark Pulse is used.... hmm. Well, now I got to get me some Dittos and such for my team. My team is finally coming together. I'm so happy.
