Tweaking Glitch

I saw a few videos of it in YouTube. I'm just wondering, but how is a glitch that makes part of your map fail to load supposed to help you get a Shaymin? Just doesn't seem all too logical to me.

HoundoomOfTheDarkness October 5th, 2007 1:32 AM

You're talking about the "Surf through walls at E4 glitch," right?

Basically, once you get out, you can wander across the darkness until you reach the exact point where Shaymin would appear. Then, using the Explorer Kit fixes the map, therefore you get to the actual place.

(Of course, I dunno what happens if you appear on a wall... stuck?)

'Course, I can't do it 'cause I have the English version.

Ho-oh arabia October 8th, 2007 5:42 PM

really complicated and easier if you exp. urself.

Pokemon Professor October 18th, 2007 8:06 PM

I think he's talking about the "spinning" bike trick. I tried it but can't pull it off but videos of English games on YouTube show it working. I don't see how this helps you either. Also, to clone on GTS, it's much more simple. You can cut out some of those steps.I gave my Scyther a Metal Coat to try and get a Scizor to test this. This is what I did and it worked, I evolved Scyther into Scizor on the GTS. Ok well, first, deposit the Pokémon that will evolve by trade (and give it the specific item if it needs one, for example Metal Coat). Make sure you ask for something really good in case someone actually trades. Next, go to Seek Pokémon and find a Pokémon that you can and are willing to trade for. Make that trade and go back to the main menu on the GTS. Of course, since your Pokémon was deposited, it'll say Summary. Go into Summay and if your Pokémon is still there, select Take it Back and it will come back to you and evolve. Simple. You don't need to disconnect from the GTS at all. Btw, you must make a trade using Seek Pokémon. You cannot just deposit and take back. I tried and it doesn't work.

EDIT: YES!!! I FINALLY DID THE TWEAKING GLITCH! But it only froze my game... For everyone having trouble, I used the loading line in between day care fence and pokemon center in Solaceon. I got on my bike at top speed and just kept pressing the D-pad heaps in almost a bit of a circular motion and my guy was going mentally retarded on his bike and then the game froze! The sound was down so I turned it up and it was frozen too! WOW! Maybe I can get into a void next time! If I do, I'll grab my video camera and post a video on YouTube if it really works! :D

I am having a bit of trouble with the tweaking glitch. Can anyone possibly help me out on where to try it at? And what is so special about the Void and everything? And how do you enter the void?

Ho-oh arabia October 19th, 2007 3:35 PM

Like ive said before, its VERY VERY VERY VERY TOUGH. I SPENT 2 HOURS (no joke, a straight 2 hours) trying to glitch myself to the beginning dimension. i did, score an arseus, but its not worth it anymore because Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus are now banned on this site.

What, they were allowed at one point?

Ho-oh arabia October 19th, 2007 3:37 PM

new rules have them banned now, legit or not.

Pokemon Professor October 19th, 2007 10:53 PM

Well, could you please make a non-AR video for us Ho-oh Arabia and prove it's no ARed too? Oh yea, I got it in like 1 minute yesterday in Solaceon but I've tried about a month ago in Jubilife with no success. But I tried again after freezing he game in Solaceon and nothing. I also tried Route 224 but I couldn't seem to find the loading line and a place where I could use the loading line in a big space with not too many obstacles. Also, could someone explain in full what the Shiny Bulbasaur Glitch is? I'm intrigued by the sound of it. I don't go into the mines much but if someone could explain it, I might give it a go.

Candymancan October 20th, 2007 3:02 AM

Isnt this darkrai glitch on the first page only for the japanese version ?

Pokemon Professor October 20th, 2007 12:07 PM

No, that's the Surf through first E4 Door glitch where you can get Shaymin and Darkrai. Man how I wish they would hurry up with Darkrai outside of Japan! Oh and apparently Shaymin and Arceus will take up to a year or more for English release... Anyone got anything on the shiny bulbasaur glitch yet? Me, I'm going to try and find some info on it.

EDIT: I've managed to pull off the tweaking glitch in Solaceon another 4 times but... I keep freezing the game lol. Anyone got any suggestions on what I could do to get a wall or void instead?

EDIT2: Make that 6 times today... T.T

ShadowTails October 20th, 2007 7:17 PM

Ok, explain to me how a map loading error is going to make it so you can defy the maps collision?

I know it was "explained" but it only messes up the area of map you're on when you make the glitch happen, it's not going to effect any other maps... what is up with these glitches? I remember Ho-oh Arabia saying his "Arceus ran away." seriously... what the heck?

You can jump over ledges, the map is still there, it's just got the incorrect textures... I don't care if someone places a video on Youtube, all they'd have to do is have an Action Replay in their possession to make a video claiming how this "method" works, notice how no one else has an Arceus and I doubt America ever WILL have Arceus without an Action Replay... I'm really getting tired of people claiming this works and I'm not going to allow anyone to make me believe it DOES work, I want solid proof and I'm never going to get it because you can edit a video quite easily.

Pokemon Professor October 24th, 2007 7:01 PM

Well... I can actually explain... If it's stuffed up, you can get through things. Now, I'm not sure about Arceus because with Arceus, we're talking about the Z axis of 3D or in other words, the depth of the 3D in the game. I don't see how you can tweak with that. But say you stuffed it up so you could walk around, idk, say up a ledge. Well, what if you managed to glitch it and 'walk through walls' into the door in the hotel in Canalave City? You'd trigger the Darkrai event... Same with Shaymin. Tweak and cross those border rocks, untweak (go into bag and map and back out) and keep surfing up to Shaymin's place. I can't remember the name but it's the long walk way when you first see Shaymin. But if you can pull these two off, easy. Btw, can someone please help me? There must be some way to do this but all I can get is freezing my game! I've done it about 7 times already today on Route 224 but I can't get even a wall let alone a void! Help please!

nice explanation. this sounds good. i know people think this does nothing to maps and you cant mix them up but, hey, what was glitch city?

Pokemon Professor October 25th, 2007 9:13 PM

Oh btw, if you've tried using Advanced Map, you probably knw how tile glitches cause this. If you haven't, I'll explain. Well, for example, the ledge tiles have a special script so that if you make then a solid object with the ledge object, you jump down them. If you used a rock tile instead, you couldn't go through it if it was solid. Same with a grass patch tile. If your current map has wild pokemon loaded but no tiles for grass are on it, the pokemon won't appear. Put a patch of grass there and the pokemon will appear in that patch. So yea, by glitching the tiles, you're aiming for changing them to ones you can walk through even though they still have solid properties.

There are like 4 video's on Youtube Showing people who have came close too Shaymin...Freezing, wall or void are all random you could get either of the 3 when you try to do it.

Btw where exactly are you tweaking? on route 224

I watched a few videos of someone Tweaking on 224, didn't look ANY different from the original route, when he got to parts on the map where you could walk normally he did, and when he go to certain areas normally on the map, they were there... I'm seriously thinking this glitch is a bunch of bull and just a texture error... post a video where the map makes it so you can defy the map.

@ Shadowtrails

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrSq38YVHP8 Appears the maker of the movie has somehow created a void that took away the invisible wall in the water and has made it onto Shaymin's Island but when they reload the map It just freezes up.

This glitch is possible in theory but the odds of pulling it off are probably to high. Otherwise you'd be seeing millions of posts / Movies about it

I have a question about the Tweaking Glitch. Does it only work with the early copies of the US D/P? Having bought the game in October, is it a too late edition?

Ho-oh arabia November 6th, 2007 10:25 AM

yeah, it works in ALL editions! But, there is no point in wasting 24hrs like i did trying to make it wrk cuz even if u tweak a pkmn, it is still banned from trading on this site.

Te-em November 6th, 2007 10:48 AM

The only way to get Arceus, of what I know. Have to get Darkurai and Sheimi at my jp Diamond as well, with the Surf Glitch. If I want all Pokemon, but Darkurai is most important because that's my fav pokemon.

Beloved November 6th, 2007 12:02 PM

I'm still calling it bull, I doubt shaymin's sprite wouldn't have loaded up when they got their, and nice quality, for all I know he would've just reset the game and had a white screen. In the japanese games with the E4 glitch (which I still question as to what smart person used Surf on the door in the first place, that's not just something you do accidently...), if you got to shaymin the sprite would be there even if the map was messed up. Even if the sprite was there, the quality is so bad you could barely make out what anything was.

Edit: The Tweaking glitch seems pointless, what has it accomplished so far? Absolutely nothing, so quit saying junk, it's about as ridiculous as the Mew and Truck theory from the RYB games. Tweaking does nothing, and even if it does it doesn't appear to give you access to anything you can't get in the game already.

EmpoleMew November 6th, 2007 3:25 PM

I discovered a couple of glitches when I was training my Rampardos. The first was that when Rampardos fainted while battling a Raticate, I chose flee and it said "The wild Raticate fled!" I fled, not Raticate. Then, there was a few Fearows that didn't get the super effective message when I used Thunder and Blizzard. Don't know about the second but the first is a glitch without doubt.

shoohoo88798 November 6th, 2007 6:57 PM

1.the glitch only work in japenese d/p
2.cloning can end in a result of making you unable to save,(trust me it happened, and i am mad)

I don't think you payed close enough attention to the movie...No It is not bad quality...He is in a Void and when he refreshes his Map by opening and closing his Bags he is frozen in Blue Not white...But a Faint Blue. I have no idea what the Japanese Surfing glitch has to do with this either and Yes if you actually where on Shaymin's Island and refreshed you would see him. The person in the video is more then likely on His land strip or whatever you may want to call it. hence the bike riding.

So yes the tweaking glitch may seem "Pointless" But it does have potential to unlock him aswell as Darkrai.

Beloved November 7th, 2007 5:50 AM

I am going to have to agree with ShadowTails. The tweaking glitch is nothing more than a map loading error. Now, if this was done in front of the Hotel where Darkrai is supposed to be found, then it could be possible to enter the hotel. Unlikely, but possible.

Pokemon Professor November 11th, 2007 7:05 PM

Okay well I've noticed one glitch too many times now. I am playing the English version of DP. It's the New Zealand/Australia one (which DP for us is just the American version I think. I'm not sure but the American code for Manaphy worked on my NZ Ranger game). Anyway, as you all know, Dragonite and Dragonair are both Dragon types. Dragonite has Flying too but remember, either way, Dragon moves are super effective against them both. I've had the same glitch with my Rayquaza but I noticed it more when training my Dragonair/Dragonite. Anyway, this is what happened:

I was battling Swimmer Sheltin and his Gyarados used Dragon Rage. This happened to me heaps of times but every time, it was a normal hit. Not super effective against Dragonair/Dragonite. This happened with other Pokemon using Dragon Rage too. Anyway, I used different Dragon pokemon so it seems like there is a glitch with the move Dragon Rage and that it is not super effective against Dragon moves. But it's Dragon typed...

I've done that cheat in my Pearl to test it to see if it was safe to use in Diamond and i only had like lvl. 5 Turtwig lol and it froze the game. turned off and it said file erased. Screamed and i never used the code again.

Check Dragon Rages description: An attack that always does 40 damage. So weakness and Resistance aren't applied, much like Seismic Toss(but Seismic Toss is better).

Alas I now an ar code to get any pokemon level 20 at mining musuem.I even have a shiny ho-oh.

KRDsonic December 5th, 2007 5:23 PM

This is probably my first real post on this site. Anyways, I read you people were trying the tweaking glitch. It's a dead glitch. I was one of the orriginal people at gamefaqs who was working on discovering things with the glitch. You can't get events with it. It just doesn't work :/
Anyways, You can also tweak both down/up and sideways at the same time.
I have 2 videos on youtube showing the sideways tweak thing after it's done. I can't post the URL here because of lack of posts though. Guess you could find it by searching "Pokemon tweaking KRDsonic" if you want proof.

There are a few cool things you can do like walking on a log you can only bike on. (discovered by ZeldaFreakGlitcha).
Or walk through a few signs/people, but it's pretty pointless in the end. At least it's fun to do. Also, I found out that even if you could get in the blackness, it disappears at the other side, and the japanese way doesn't work, you leave the map if you try to do the same thing (I tested using walk through walls code for both of those). We had lots of theories, but none worked.

Iced December 8th, 2007 4:32 PM

Im not sure if this is true but people are saying that they found a DP Bad Egg by using a AR hold L+R and get 999 Leftovers (I bet right now your wondering how leftovers are going to lead you to a egg) then discard enough until u have 495 leftovers left then realease R then walk into the grass holding L.

I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to work everywhere. . .

I just bought an Action Replay and then I decided to do the walk through walls code. I was walking through walls and having some fun, when something occured to me-What's behind the Pal Park? So I flew there and walked behind it, never went inside, and there was this grassy area, completely blocked off so you couldn't go to it without a cheating device. I was thinking that this must be a place where a new glitch pokemon would be, so I started walking around in the grass. Then, I ran into a. . .pink Shellos. Then I ran around more in the grassy area and I ran into a. . .Stunky. They were both perfectly normal pokemon.

Another time I used the walk through walls code before I got a pokemon. I walked through the trees until I got to Sandgem town, I was greeted by the professor's kid, and pulled into Prof. Rowan's lab. He said something like I did well with -------- and I should have a pokedex. So once I got the pokedex, I opened it, and the game turned black and froze.
