Wi-Fi Connection at College
I just recently finished moving into my college dorm room in the middle of nowhere (Western Massachussetts). The second I was done unpacking, I opened my DS and went to add the new wireless connection to my settings. All appeared well, as the connection at my college is open (WEP) and not, seemingly (to the DS), password protected.
My attempt to enter GTS was blocked by an inability for my DS to access the wireless service. I remembered none of my applications on my own computer worked unless I opened an internet browser and signed myself into the network. So here I am, knowing that I cannot access my college's wireless due to the DS's inherent inabilty to open a browser. I suppose purchasing the Opera plugin for it might solve the problem, but does anyone know how I might possibly circumvent this without resorting to purchasing something addition for the DS? (It's Labor Day and no one is working at IT (otherwise I would bring my grievances to them); I thought maybe someone encountered the same issue here.) |
You need to contact your colleges Student Helpdesk/Computer Help/Etc. on this one. They would know more. College setups are freaky and odd, I know that from working with students.
