Favs Team: The Afterburner
This is one team I'm really doing a bunch of weird science with. 8)
It's a team of favorite Pokemon. I'm in the process of compiling it for a Favorites Tourney I'm hosting at another forum I go to. Now, all I want is feedback on it and assistance on movesets and items. I'm not changing Pokemon. Oh, and only 2 duplicate items can be suggested. Special Note: The ones that have IVs posted have been EV Trained and are ready to go. The IVs are in order from HP/Atk/Def/SAtk/SDef/Spd. Blastoise @ Leftovers ** King Koopa Ability: Torrent IVs: 24 / 24 / 31 / 30 / 27 / 19 EVs: 204 HP / 180 Atk / 96 Def / 28 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Substitute - Earthquake - Rapid Spin - Aqua Jet This kind of emulates the Amalaric Prick. I sub, Earthquake an Electric Switch-in, and complete the job with an Aqua Jet. I'm not going to overabuse this method until I'm out of Electric resist, so it's basically just for Physical Tanking. Rapid Spin when necessary. Gengar @ Life Orb ** Culex Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) / Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Shadow Ball - Sludge Bomb - Thunderbolt - Focus Blast Having a little trouble on picking the Nature. I want the Speed, but I also desire to have as much power as PorygonZ. Can't decide. Victreebel @ ??? Berry ** Megasmilax Ability: Chlorophyll IVs: 14 / 30 / 13 / 31 / 5 / 30 EVs: 232 Atk / 252 Spd / 24 SAtk Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Sleep Powder - Razor Leaf - Sludge Bomb - Natural Gift Yeah, I know it's retarded to have Natural Gift, but I couldn't think of any better fillers. I Sleep, then I Sludge Bomb the Switch-In. I might go for Natural Gift Ground for Steel-Type Switch-Ins, or possibly Fire. Mamoswine @ Choice Scarf ** :horns: Ability: Snow Cloak IVs: 27 / 30 / 24 / 0 / 26 / 30 EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Ice Fang - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Ice Shard CS :horns:. Self-Explanatory. (That's right I have a Mamoswine fetish isn't it obvious) Tyranitar @ Leftovers ** Ramses Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 240 HP / 104 Atk / 28 Def / 136 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Curse - Crunch - Earthquake / Stone Edge - Rest Cursing Tyranitar. Pretty much made to emulate Snorlax since this team lacks a Special Tank. I realize this isn't a valid Sp. Tank, but I can make the best of it. Somehow. Charizard @ Shell Bell / Expert Belt / Muscle Band ** (nickname coming soon) Ability: Blaze EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Flare Blitz - Earthquake - Outrage / Crunch Final Sweeper. I'll figure out a way to get past that Sand Stream Ability. Perhaps I could give Victreebel Sunny Day to fix this problem. *waits patiently for Samson to give Iceman3k the rod of discipline* |
No no no no no no no no no. Natural Gift, after your Berry dies, has a Base Power of 1.

This is my Bellosum moveset:
[email protected] Sludge Nature: Modest Sunny Day Solarbeam Hidden Power [Fire] Sleep Powder This set can work wonders on your Victribell, since it's so effective on Bellosum, it will be much, MUCH better on Victribell. Sunny Day + Clorophyll makes it's base speed from 70 to 140, gives Charizard a boost, and grants you Weather Control. I may not be Samson, but this sounds good to me. |

I'll probably use Sunny Day for that big Sandstorm issue that can occur. |
Read my post. Seems nice, right?

blastoise is ok but it really gets walled. the issue is that electric types aren't common. an electric pokemon coming in to take blastoise out is not as common as Gengar or Starmie or Azelf. if the idea is that you want blastoise to revenge kill, then you should consider Mirror Coat. i use it on my Blastoise and it works wonders.
if you're going to have gengar with a full array of attacks, you should probably consider Choice Specs. besides, Sludge Bomb is absolutely pointless. Energy Ball is a much better choice for attack. if you don't want either, then Hypnosis or Will-o-Wisp are viable options. Timid Nature is a no brainer, and if you give it hypnosis, wide lens is popular for hypnosis + focus blast. sunnybeaming is all you can really do with Victreebel. i've always liked Victreebel myself, but it's a very lousy poke. choice scarf mamoswine is not so bad. i'd personally suggesting give it Naughty Nature so that it can use Ice Beam for an extra punch against physical walls, but i suppose since you've already trained it, that will have to do. eh... i'm not liking cursetar at all. ttar IS a special tank. 100 base HP + Sandstream Boost (150 base SP DEF) is major. the most effective means to using Ttar for its special defense, however, is Choice Band. all you need is 252 ATK/252 HP, and it can come in to take any special hit and shoot a deadly attack right back. charizard is a HUGE no. belly zard is one thing, but DDzard is no good at all. it gets walled from the second it uses dragon dance, which is a dead giveaway that it is physical. if you really want it to be physical, then replace Earthquake with Substitute. it'll have to operate like ADV DD Salamence. outrage is no good as well, as it doesn't get STAB and won't do any real sweeping with just 2 dragon dances. charizard is ideal as a special sweeper if it's not bellydrumming. this is just a bad attempt to make Charizard physical, but avoid Choice Band. |

well, to start with CurseTar, i understand that, but x2 fighting weakness is just way too much for tar to take 2 of. let's not forget that its HP isn't as HUGE as Snorlax's. 60 base HP in difference is a LOT to have to make up for. especially with that EV spread, i wouldn't even bother thinking about that. i don't see the point in giving ttar attack evs when it's adamant nature, and especially when it REALLY wants them in defense. if you're going to stick with that ev spread, then maybe you should consider Chople Berry to reduce the power of Close Combat so that you can pull in at least 2 curses before you have to use rest. 2 curses should be enough to shrug off a couple Close Combats before you wake up and OHKO the idiot. berries are the new thing, haven't you heard? also, you should probably go with stone edge/rock slide so that heracross doesn't shrug off NE hits, which would completely ruin the whole point of cursetar.
and charizard... there's such an issue with the guy. you can't really use him for Choice Items because of Stealth Rock... can't give him SD and DD cus of quick haze. because he needs to be able to stay in battle and sweep, it's like the only good, but stupid, thing to do is give him Belly Drum. the problem is getting as much coverage out of Charizard, and you'll need that with Fire Punch + Dragon Claw. i don't understand why people ever give him aerial ace + earthquake ._. i know that you can't get Fire Punch without Emerald, so that may be an issue all in all. Aerial Ace + Brick Break are okay, i suppose. Dragon Claw + Brick Break covers everything, but no STAB options. if you're confident, Fire Fang is also a good sub for Fire Punch (it gets Blaze boost, so it's not all that weak if you consider it), but i've had bad experiences with all the fang attacks =/ so for BellyZard, you could go with the following: Charizard @ Salac Berry Adamant/Jolly Nature (preferably jolly) 252 SPD/252 ATK/6 HP (or your variation of ATK + HP evs) -Fire Punch/Fire Fang/Brick Break -Dragon Claw/Aerial Ace -Substitute -Belly Drum if you bring it on stealth rock, then you should probably just use belly drum and try to sweep with its 1 HP left. yannow, if you wanted, you could use Charizard as a support pokes as well. Charizard @ Leftovers/Expert Belt Naive/Hasty/Naughty/Lonely Nature 104 HP/252 ATK/152 SPD (look mom, copy pasta) -Flamethrower/Roost -Focus Punch/Roost -Substitute -Will-o-Wisp/Dragon Claw you basically switch in, sub up, and hit hard or burn dragons who wall you. the reason why i did not include Jolly/Adamant is because of Flamethrower. without a STAB Special Option, this moveset fails. so... what say you? |
