That Salamence set is FAR too anticipated anyway.
If you want a sweeper, use this bad mofo.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers / Lum Berry / Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 88 HP / 240 Atk / 180 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance

eros225 September 6th, 2007 2:50 AM

Hmm, I might..But that doesn't help solve my weakness to ice.

But then again is only those boltbeamers+electivire which I have to worry about whenever I have my sweepers out. >_<

yes that Salamence set is anticipated, but you tell me what can switch in on a Choice Specs Draco Meteor and survive without it at least being a 2HKO?(apart from Blissey lol)

If you Plan on using Tyranitar it needs Taunt on there somewhere or else Skarmory says hi and Whirlwinds you away.

Portujesus September 6th, 2007 5:58 AM

Cresselia can switch in Draco Meteor. Regice and Empoleon too.

On the team:
Blissey NEEDS to be bold, because every point in defense counts.
And Garchomp doesn't need Focus Sash. Yache Berry and even Leftovers are better options. I prefer Life orb, or sometimes, be a little cheap and use Lax Insense (not 100% sure that's the name) with Sandveil evasion boost.

Empoleon & Cresselia need a huge investment of HP and SDef EVs, as well as a +SDef Nature to make Salamence only 3HKO them.

Regice isnt really a counter. It still gets 2HKO'd by Specs Mence.

Isnt Lax incence a Hax Item and therfore banned aswell ?

Life Orb or Expert Belt on Garchomp IMO

Blissey, Snorlax, Regice, Empoleon, Registeel, Metagross...

Trust me, I can think of a hundred things that can block a CS Draco Meteor.

Maybe i should of put "Hardly anything can switch into it that doesn't resist Draco Meteor"sorry my mistake, and i already said apart from Blissey.

but, Snorlax, Regice , Empoleon, Cresselia,, need a huge investment of HP and SDef EVs, as well as a +SDef Nature to make Salamence only 3HKO them as ive already said.

EDIT: just to confirm this ive tested it on Metal Kids damage calculator, with Regice seeing as it has the highest Sp.Def out of all of those.

after one Draco meteor

Damage: 147 - 173
Damage: 40.38% - 47.53%

(*Providing you switch out in between Draco Meteors it is a 3hko even without Stealth rock, youd be stupid to stay in and continue battling Regice after a Sp.Att cut from Draco Meteor anyway)

Regice, needs 31 ivs in Sp.Def and HP and a + Sp.Def Nature and absolute maxed evs in Sp.Def and Hp, for it to even get this, and this is without stealth rock in effect, but on the other hand , with Fire Blast its a Definite 2HKO.

which is why they are not listed as a counter, and this explains why better than me

Also, take notice that neither Snorlax or Regice are in the counters listed for Specs Mence. The reason being, they're just not counters to it now. Even those two with such high HP/SDef are 2HKO'd by Specs Mence, that's how deadly it is. The only full on Special Wall Pokémon from the 3rd Gen that takes Specs Mence on is Blissey.

anyway the idea with this set is to get it in own things with Fire Blast, Draco Meteor and Hydro Pump and switch out , and then pick off thing late in a battle with dragon pulse.

eros225 September 6th, 2007 1:36 PM

lol i wanted my bliss to be strictly a special wall so i thought itd be best to invest all the evs in hp/sdef same thing goes with my umbreon(most moves that counter it are physical bug/fighting)..

i put the focus sash on my garchomp because im still not that good at predicting enemy switches, a few times after i swords danced and some boltbeaming physical wall comes out and knocks my garchomp out lol...i was considering replacing firefang with brick break at one point

thanks for the constuctive comments and criticism guys...keep em rolling =)

i want this team to have as less problems as possible

luke September 6th, 2007 2:04 PM

Well, if you have Blissey with no Defense EVs, she will die. Simple as that. You NEED Defense EVs on her. There's no way around it. It's Special Defense and HP are powerful enough. If you want your team to have as few problems as possible, follow basic sets for the Pokemon.

eros225 September 6th, 2007 3:51 PM

oh i see..i havent rebred my bliss yet anyway to put seismic toss on it so its ok

anyway, from the list of pokemon mentioned in this thread...what should i keep to maximize their roles?( i have a jolly scizor waiting to be eved/rebred, maybe i can slap that in)

blissey
swampert
garchomp
umbreon
gengar
tangrowth
tyranitar
salamence

it learn Seismic Toss by move tutor on Emerald and Leaf Green, not by breeding, just thought id let you know before you found out yourself before you started breeding.

If Mence stayed long enough to go for the 3HKO against Regice/Empoleon, Ice Beam will hit and destroy Mence. Therefore they are the perfect counters for the Specs Mence

and i also said "what doesnt Resist it"

Portujesus September 9th, 2007 2:24 AM

I think that SpecsMence is nice, but you aren't going to KO anyone with all the Stealth Rock floating around, and Cress+Bliss countering it with ease.

EDIT: And there are better special sweepers around.
