honey trees

I don't understand how honey trees work. I keep putting honey on them and coming back later, but nothing is ever there, and I need leftovers..

Can someone explain how they work please..

You need to wait for a couple of hours though. And check it if it starts to move. ^_^ I have a spare Leftover too ^^

shinyhunter September 6th, 2007 3:35 AM

were do you find leftovers??

Maya September 6th, 2007 4:04 AM

The number of hours effects the pokemon that will appear...if you leave it a short time it might be a wormple.....leave it over night and it will be rarer....thats where i got my aipom whos now ambipom in my party =D

After putting the honey on, you have to wait roughly about 8-12 hours before a Pokemon appears on the tree. Just make sure you don't leave it for too long as the Pokemon can disappear after being there for too long.

As for Leftovers, you can find one in Victory Road, or via the PickUp Ability.

the pokemon you can get are
aipom which are uncommon
burmy which are a little less common, and i think the female = even less common applies here too
cascoon which are a little less common and exclusive to pearl
cherubi which are uncommon
combee which are common (females are probably less common but once you get one you could just breed it with a ditto. poor ditto)
heracross which are rare
munchlax which are rare
silcoon which are a little less common and exclusive to diamond
wurmples which are common

just look for a list of tree's somewhere once you get serious about honey-tree-poke catching

i feel so sorry. got a snorlax and a lax incense (or full, i forget), just breed the snorlax holding that item with ditto and when the egg hatches you'll have munchlax!

my guess is you hvae to get the tree as early as possible or munchlax will be gone because we all know how fast he eats.

Full stomach incense.

You don't have to get their early. The Pokemon remain there the set amount of time, just make sure you aren't too late.

When waiting do you have to stay there with the DS on or could you go somehwere else and come back, or even turn the DS off?

jack1993jack September 8th, 2007 7:24 AM

You can go elsewhere, and turn the DS off, I think

Lapras1016 September 8th, 2007 7:24 AM

You wait about 10 hours, then check the tree. Save before checking it for Pokémon, because anyway if you soft-reset the Pokémon stays the same; everything else changes. That's how I got my female Combee without needing to breed or get any males. ;)

You can have the DS turned off or be playing in a different part of the game. All you have to do is wait the time out in "real time".

Level, nature, gender and stats can all change. Only the Pokemon stays the same which can be a good thing. (Unless you get wurmples... D:)

According to a site I go to, you have to wait 6-8 hours (real time) and the tree should shake then.
