Oni Link September 6th, 2007 9:57 AM

that's cool,
I like the idea of leaving it on the 'new' box so new pokemon go in there,
and a box for your girlfriend :]

Rayl September 6th, 2007 10:03 AM

makes sense... I dont end up with all ma gfs pokemon everywhere if she plays on it :] plus then i can remember what she caught.
also, your level 5 starlys you're out catching (dont ask me why you'd be out doing that... i have no idea...) end up all in one box called NEW :] then you organise them thereafter. :D
i dunno. something that seemed to make sense to me back in the days of GBA :P
*sigh* memories

Oni Link September 6th, 2007 10:09 AM

I just generally like organizing Pokemon!
unless you're moving all the pokemon from one box to another that's like seven boxes away,
and you have to keep withdrawing, moving boxes, and then depositing over and over!

punch bag September 6th, 2007 12:07 PM

I sorted mine by

pokemon
pokemon
rare
evil looking pokemon
green pokemon

Razer302 September 6th, 2007 12:08 PM

I used to have them sorted by Type. But it takes to long when swapping Pokemon that I just have them any were and look for them. Takes me a while to find the one I want though.

Oni Link September 6th, 2007 12:11 PM

I though about that one, but the thing that stopped me was when pokemon have two types I wouldn't know where to put them.

murasamune September 6th, 2007 11:01 PM

when pokemon have two types you could make it more simple and put like

Gengar who is type 1: ghost
type 2: poison

put him in the ghost box

i want to get them all organized 1-483 (is that the right amount?)
but then i think about how many extra spots are gonna be taken up by pokemon who have 3 evolutions... sigh

when i complete my pokedex im going to orer my pokemon in national pokedex order so pokemon with 3 evolutions or more will be easy to sort say magmar for example, in pearl it has another evolution magmotar so insted of putting it in with the johto pokedex it will be in the sinnoh pokedex in the 400's another is eevee it has evolutions in 3 different pokedex's so just list the in nuber order

murasamune September 6th, 2007 11:15 PM

that works for pokemon like that
however pokemon with 3 evo's in the same game are a pain
it looks cool i think, but it takes up 3 spots
bulbasaur, ivysaur, venusaur, charmander, char...something..,charizard..
etc

Ayano Katagiri September 6th, 2007 11:37 PM

Well I personally set my out so it's easier for me to deal with.

1) A Carry Pack, of all the Pokemon I commonly use and train.
2) Special Pokemon (i.e Legendaries, shinys...)
And then the rest of my Pokemon which I don't really use are left classified under the types.

xxFrozenFlower September 7th, 2007 4:34 AM

I know it's useless to post this, but I still will because I'm lame. xD
I organize by types. It's worked for me in Silver/Gold/Crystal. It's worked for me in Ruby/Emerald. And now it's working for me in Pearl.
My first box is always Bug and second is always Water. Tradition xD Nostalgia.
Then I combine some types, like Psychic/Ghost and Dark/Poison or whatever. I have a box for legendaries and my few events called Paradise! and a box for my shinies, as well as two boxes for eggs that always fill up fast x__x
I don't do by levels or anything. I personally like sorting by types. And yeah, like mentioned, I put the Pokemon in a box depending on their first type. Like, Gyarados doesn't belong in a flying box. Gyarados belongs in Water. D;

Shiver September 7th, 2007 8:45 AM

I have organised my boxes by type ( Water, Fire, etc. ) in my Diamond to help me find my pokemon, since I breed quite a lot and it speeds up the process of find the right Pokemon :)

Willbey September 7th, 2007 9:06 AM

I do it like this:

Teambox...(Pokemon that can be in my team and must be level 100)
Rarebox...(Rare pokemon&legendary pokemon)
Unownbox...(All types of unowns)
Shinybox...(Shinies only)

And, the rest of the spare boxes are:
Junkboxes...(Junk pokemon only, just for the pokedex)

nekolexis September 7th, 2007 9:07 AM

So far my boxes are:

Lv.100s
Trains (Those that need training)
Shinys
Legends
legends 2 (I filled up my 1st box)
Breeders
Breeders
Breeders
Junks
Eggs
Shinys

I had all my pokemon scattered in one point actually.

Zungie September 7th, 2007 1:19 PM

I recomend renaming BOX1 as "Unsorted" because you can just catch things and leave them in there. That way your mess is automatically tidey!
Clever 'eh?!

:P

Oni Link September 7th, 2007 1:21 PM

pretty nifty that one, zungie ;)

Zungie September 7th, 2007 1:26 PM

I know. I do it because I clone a fare bit, which results me in having my 1st bike rammed really randomly. As long as you don't leave it unsorted for more then 1 week, it should be fine.
If it overflow's, it just means your lazy..

Bathing Ape September 7th, 2007 1:46 PM

I have a Legendaries box, Trades box (Pokemon i recieve via wi-fi), Team box (for Pokemon i have trained to be in my team for battles) and Wild (Pokemon i randomly catch)

I am yet to have any shinies :(

Oh i also have a box for Pokemon holding all the Arceus plates too :D

spam September 7th, 2007 1:56 PM

I have a box just for untrained weak Pokemon and the rest of my boxes are just Pokemon dumped there just because I don't feel like organizing them.

Yeah...I'm THAT unorganized.

Gigatongatlingman September 7th, 2007 1:59 PM

Mine's are...
Captured pokes
junk
junk(2)
junk(3) again...
Shinies
Shinies(2)
Legends(junk)
and... nothing...

Shiny Umbreon September 7th, 2007 2:05 PM

I normally keep all final evolutions, and sort them (not by type)

For example, I have "Grass" (Bibarel, Linoone, Pidgeot, Venusaur), "Forest" (Lopunny, Raichu, Arbok, Sceptile), "Water" (Mantine, Seadra, Floatzel, Blastoise), "Volcano" (Rapidash, Ninetales, Arcanine, Typhlosion), "Urban" (Umbreon, Blissey, Delcatty, Persian).

The special boxes are "Unown", "MinorLeg" (Articuno, Entei, Regice, Mesprit, Regigigas), "Legends" (Mewtwo, Manaphy, Groudon, Dialga), "Other" (Stupid Pokémon, Egg Move Fathers) and "TeamPkmn" (Pokémon from my travelling team are left there when replaced in the party, and Pokémon from my battle them are there when I don't use them).

Zungie September 7th, 2007 2:13 PM

Referring to pokémon as "Junk" is a bi unfair. You might as well release it if it's REALLY "junk".. That really grates on me...
Anywho I just wanted to add that this is my BOX's in order:
Unsorted, Trades[Being pokémon I need to trade or maybe that are cloned], Trades, Misc.[Unowns and a few Diamond only pokémon], Misc., BOX 6-10, Shiny's, Shiny's, Shiny's, Uber's, Uber/100, Leg's, Leg's, Leg's.

I hope I helped :)

Oni Link September 7th, 2007 2:20 PM

I know what you mean about the Junk thing!
everyone seems to have boxes full of them; if you just want them for your pokedex can't you release them?
thanks for the help though everyone!

Zungie September 7th, 2007 2:53 PM

[Especially me]
-Cough-
Only jokeing :P
I got a few tips myself..
Also, before I go to bed..
If you arrange your BOX's each side of the 1st BOX, it take last time to scroll to it.
LAST tip of the day: Use "Move Pokémon" istead. Trust me, it saves forever!!

Oni Link September 7th, 2007 3:05 PM

that's what I do too!
my trades/team/to evolve boxes are to the left of the first Box.
and I never use Withdraw or Deposit, I always use Move.
