GTS iz bein stoopid 2 me!

It goes like this:

I put a Bidoof on the GTS on my Diamond Version to be offered and ask for a Chimchar because I know I got a Chimchar on my Pearl Version but when I decide to search for the Bidoof on GTS on my Pearl Version it does not come up with the one I put up for offer on my Diamond Version!

Why is this happening?

Dogod September 6th, 2007 3:05 PM

There are more than 7 people offering a bidoof. And why are you using the gts for that instead of a union room trade?

Kim Do-yeon September 6th, 2007 3:07 PM

The reason why I'm using the GTS is because I've only got one NDS in my possesion!

Dogod September 6th, 2007 3:10 PM

Sorry, there's nothing you can do except keep trying. What if the bidoof is taken by someone else with a chimchar? That's possible

Well, I suggest just trading a Chimchar from someone else... There are plenty of people who would give you one for free or for a low price. :)

Also, you can be more specific in your search like if it was male/female or level 3 or 20. If you still can't find your Bidoof, take it back and put up a rarer/uncommon pokemon like uhh a Spoink or some swarm/version exclusive and trade with yourself by using that instead of a Bidoof.

Yeah, there are most likely about 1000 Bidoofs on offer at any time on GTS. You'd do best to just offer something different from your other game, maybe something harder to find. At the very least use a Starly or Shinx, there are so many Bidoofs on offer.

I'm not sure, but I think the GTS checks the actual DS and not just the card, making sure you can't transfer pokemon to yourself.

like they would have that much of an effort to put in.........

Dogod September 7th, 2007 3:35 AM

Why would they want to stop you from trading with yourself?

Angelic Diablo September 7th, 2007 4:00 AM

I think it would be more so you can make friends

And it wouldn't be hard hammerhead, it checks the cartridges ID number so it could easily check the DS' serial number to see if it matches, and if it does it doesnt allow the trade to occur

Kim Do-yeon September 7th, 2007 7:46 AM

The main reason I use the GTS is because I just want to my pokemon from my Pearl Version in my Diamond Version!

If you have a friend with a Nintendo DS and a copy of the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl game, you could ask him to trade it for you. It would go something like this: first you trade him your Chimchar, and he obviously gives something back. Then you just trade the Chimchar to the other game. And in case you don't have a friend with a DS, just post a topic to the Wireless Trade Corner section. A Chimchar isn't that valuable after all, so you don't actually lose anything even if someone tricks you. You can also do like everyone seems to do and clone it, but only if it has a good nature and IVs because otherwise it isn't worth it.
