Shiny Hour

Ok, I play for about 3-4 hours each day. While I'm playing between about 5-6 pm I always get at least one shiny, coincidence?

absol_master September 8th, 2007 6:33 AM

wow cool i wish i was that lucky
i dont know if it is or not
[i still havent found one on any of my games]

Loud and Annoying Pidgey September 8th, 2007 6:51 AM

can you get a shiny gyrados???

jack1993jack September 8th, 2007 7:01 AM

It's probably a timed thing that determines when you get a shiney

Actually, it depends on a set of numbers you can't actually see in your game (unless you mess around with a GameShark/AR). In other words, this guy is just really, really lucky, and I envy him.

zacharias September 9th, 2007 11:35 PM

hard to say, maybe just lucky, but might be there something to do with the time as well^^" i am not much help^^"

Gold Tom September 10th, 2007 1:10 AM

Yeah, well. It's really turned quite good. I sell them at my school for $5 each!

Ársa September 10th, 2007 2:35 AM

XD.....no, there is a 1 in 8*** something chance of finding a shiny, and many trainers go there whole pokemon days without ever getting a Shiny pokemon. I am lucky, and have found (not including Pokeradar or Soft-Reseting) around 25 Shiny pokemon. The greatest coincidence I have had is when I found 2 shinies IN A ROW!

Marcy_11 September 10th, 2007 3:26 AM

Well my friend got her first shiny while at my house and i got both mine while talking to her

coincidence?

ultranerd57 September 10th, 2007 4:41 PM

its a 1 in 8192 chance and gets tougher if you want shiny starters or legendaries. i've been trying to get a shiny charmander all weekend and its starting to piss me off

ball2000 September 10th, 2007 4:50 PM

i,ve only found 1 shiny [it was on my friends game >:[ ]its super hard insane hard >:[ to find a shiny

Agu Fungus September 10th, 2007 5:16 PM

I only have a shiny Slugma (now evolved into shiny Magcargo).

Actually, since the probability doesn't change, it'd probably be easier because all you have to do is soft-reset over and over again instead of wander around patches of grass that may contain Pokemon other than the one you want as a shiny anyway.

The_General September 11th, 2007 8:58 PM

Between the hours of 5PM and 6PM you say? Whilst there may be this 1 in 8192 chance of finding a shiny Pokémon, I wouldn't count out the possibility of there being a variable which determines an encounter within a certain time frame/window. It sounds plausible given that you seem to encounter a shiny within the window of 5PM and 6PM. How many Shinnies is it exactly that you've procured, and have you been able to pull this off on a day-to-day basis?

I think it was just your luck....I met Shinies at a variety of time,so I can say it was just your luck.

Razer302 September 12th, 2007 11:59 AM

That is just luck. I haven't had a shiny in such a long time. It is starting to bug me.

In real time or in Game Time? Because if this is a glitch or something on the version you're playing(please specify), then I'd like to have a go at it too, since the only shiny I've found so far are a Primeape on Victory Road on my old LeafGreen file before I transferred everything and restarted for Nuggets, and a shiny Pikachu in the Safari zone.

Gold Tom September 12th, 2007 9:28 PM

In real time on Ruby and Sapphire.

Gachaking September 12th, 2007 10:11 PM

What's your time zone? I live far, far away from the States at the moment(assuming that's where you live) for an incredibly prolonged vacation and would like some shinies. Bad.

Gold Tom September 12th, 2007 10:19 PM

I'm in Australia. Nowhere near the US

Gachaking September 12th, 2007 10:29 PM

But Australia has timezones too, right? Where do you live, Sidney(I mean no offense to sound so generic, but since it's the capital to my belief, and most capitals have a concentrated amount of population)?

Sorry to sound like a prick, but is the Australian version the same as the US version, because the only ones I have are the US ones aside from my Japanese Gold and Pearl, and I don't exactly think it'd work on those ones..

Gold Tom September 13th, 2007 3:24 AM

Err.. the capital is Canberra? But yeah, I'm from Sydney. And I have the American version.

Gachaking September 13th, 2007 5:18 AM

Oh..okay, turns out my memory is about as hazy as the top of some..misty mountain or something on a foggy day, lol. But thanks, I guess I'll try the glitch as soon as I manage to calculate what time it'll be when it's 5 or 6 o'clock where you live. But not now, as it's almost 10:30 here and I'm getting yelled at for being on the computer this late...

AnimeDDR110 September 13th, 2007 5:53 AM

it is hard to find shiny, me only running into a shiny unown A which i knew at the time was shiny and screaming so much, then i forgot to save my game, and i shut it off, oh, that was a bad day.

ball2000 September 21st, 2007 6:48 PM

i herd some were if u find 1 shiny the chances of u finden another r 4000 instead of 8000 then 2000 1000 500 250 125 and so on so if ur really lucky and find like 5 shinies ull most likely find more
