I've got a little problem with the Pokerus...
I got my copy of Pearl not too long ago and transferred my event Mew(lvl 10, holding lucky egg) along with my Space C Deoxys and Celebi via Pal Park and went through hell spreading the little virus. Then I caught a Magicarp and put my Celebi in the box so I could trade it to my Japanese Pearl which I only used so I could have all 3 starters and items that you only get once in the game, but turns out I lost it for like a month, and it wasn't until today I found it, at which point I discover my Pokemon don't have the Pokerus anymore!(and after all that hell I went through trying to spread it..) Of course, I have my Celebi in the box(with Pokerus), but it's the only one that has it, and if it loses it again, I'm toast! Any tips on keeping the Pokerus, please?
I may be wrong, but I believe the virus wears off on its own after a certain period of time, and there's no legit way to keep it.
just spread it around....to do that place it first on your party and battle a couple of pokes and the poke next to your celebi should have......then just put celebi back in you pc boxes.....by the way the little smiley face means it still has pokerus it just cant spread it anymore
hope this helped |
Thanks a lot, ThePlaya. I'll go see whether or not it's got the smiley face, and I've got this problem on my Sapphire as well(from which I transferred these pokes in the first place) and I've only got two Pokemon left that have it, and I don't think I've seen the smiley face in third gen, so how can I tell whether or not they can still spread or if they still have the virus?

EDIT:i dont really know about the third generation sorry.....above is how it showed on the d/p game |
So if a Pokemon doesn't have the PKRS sign but has a smiley face, does it still have the Pokerus and all its effects(except spreading)?

That's a relief then, since all the Pokes in my party(except the Magikarp) still have the smiley face, and I may be wrong, but the Pokes in my Sapphire party have a little dot that others don't, which I think means the same as the smiley in D/P. Another question though. I read that Pokerus has the same effects as the Macho Brace(which I sadly never got because I didn't bother catching those three kinds of..whatever.), only without the speed reduction, so what if a Pokerus Pokemon holds a Macho Brace? Does it quantriple EV's, or does it have no effect, or what?
Yes, Pokerus plus Machobrace = x4 Ev's if you're battling a Starly
Then I'd better go hunting for that Burmy thing or some crap the kid wants to see if you want the Macho Brace..
You can get a Macho Brace if you have R/S/E
True, but I don't really want to Pal Park again until I get the remaining 4 or so Pokemon left until the 202 fills up on Emerald, which are Feebas/Milotic, Lunatone(only availible in Sap), Jirachi, and Deoxys(though I'm not sure whether the last two are neccesary) so I can get one of the Johto Starters(hopefully shiny). Also, the Macho Brace is availible in FR/LG by itemfinding on that spot where Giovanni was.(why'd they have to make it so late in the game?!!?!)

The pokerus is actually a good thing for EV training its nothing bad at all
Macho Brace sucks now. The Power Items from the Battle Tower do a far better job at EV training than Macho Brace.
yeah they do suck........by the other ones at the battle tower there way better
Sorry to bump this thread a notch...but if I leave a pokemon in the day care with Pokerus, Macho Brace, or both, does it still gain twice/4x the EV's like it should, if any? I ask this because legendaries are slow as hell in leveling up, and I don't feel like going through the elite four like a thousand times like I did in FRLG or RSE since I'm just like that..
._. I hope you don't mean does it get trained there... Anyways, no it will not gain it's EV stat gains, you can only do that through leveling them up yourself, it's fine to use Rare Candies and Daycare as long as you personally finish the leveling to 100.
Anyways, Pokerus will go away if a Pokemon in your party with the virus remains in your party until 12:00 AM. Avoid this simply by placing said Pokemon in the box and it will keep the spreadable version forever. |
you don't get any EV's for daycare training
daycare/rare candy are the ONLY ways to level up pokemon WITHOUT giving them EVs |
Are you willing to trade your lickitung.
You spread the Pokerus (PKRS) by keping an infected Pokemon in your party, and Pokemon you want to infect. Then you just battle other Pokemon, and you MAY have a chance that other Pokemon get infected. Just keep on battling.
