Pokemon game? They can um... still work a little harder. But at least PotW got a major improvement now. The earlier sets bring tears to my eyes... at least now they don't suggest focus punch without sub, and is a LOT better.

Well i am fairly certian sceptile CAN learn earthqauke; however i have never personally tried just cause of the fact that i usually use special based attacks on the sceptile i used. Then again earthquake could always ward away the fire types, but i normally wouldn't bring him/her in against fire types anyways.

oh yeah out of the Ru/Sa starters i'd have to go with torchic, i've tried swampert but meh.... he is just a touch to slow for my tastes, also i have tried sceptile, he is alright but.... i dunno just didn't like him. and then there is torchic whom i do ok with....... however i'd trade anyone of this starters for a meganium anyday.

I usually start out with the one that has the same color as the game.

Red- Charmander -Ash
Blue- Squirtle -Ash
Green- Bulbasaur -Ash
Yellow- Pikachu, the famous First Pokémon! -Ash
Gold- Cyndaquil -Ash
Silver- Totodile -Ash
Crystal- Chikorita -Ash
Ruby- Torchic -May
Sapphire- Mudkip -Brock
If they had a third R/S game it would've been Treecko -Ash
FireRed- Charmander -Ash
LeafGreen- Bulbasaur -Ash

Sceptile CAN use Earthquake

If my dex is wrong that it cant then so is every other Dex on the web

Also, Sceptile can use Dragon Claw...Grovyle can not

What about all the game news i tend to have first such as the R/s, FR/LG, Colosseum and the upcoming game news? Checkmate

I know I am missing some things but my dex is apparently known as one of the, if not the best

Frostweaver June 17th, 2004 8:48 AM

Meowth346's Pokedex! ^_^
The 2nd one up must be Netbattle's pokedex.

Regarding earthquake on Sceptile in terms of YOUR pokedex, I really don't know since serebii.net is more of my manga/anime/movie resource more than a game source. However as I said, PotW is majorly improved though, in comparison to the suggestions it made during the earlier times. *is still annoyed by T-tar's PotW...*

Ingame news... Yes Serebii does get that done too... but then I pay no attention to it. Call me a freak o.o;

I think the earlier PoW's should be tweaked to fit the better moveset style of the new guy. Just soemthing I like to add, Tyranitar only works well in two types of teams; a sandstorm theme and one that either has a cloud 9 Golduck or another Pokemon who uses a weather move. Sandstream seriously killed him. And look, now I went off topic.

Swampert's animation in col. is particularly well done and flexible.

Frostweaver June 17th, 2004 9:04 AM

Sandstream is like the reason why you use him to begin with... his stats are in the ranks of dragonite/metagross/salamence, and sandstream makes him really stand out compare to the others

a) kills all leftover abusers
b) weather team destroying... die eggy! [most important]

New PotW can still have some work done in terms of items though ^_^; The new guy LOVES speed a bit too much... even on Slowking o.o; I mean he surely SPAMS timid nature on everything XD

The older PotW can certainly be updated... I mean they didn't even mention that quad weakness of fighting on T-tar... it bugs me.

Back on topic:
-personally, I think that Swampert is strongest, because I can't beat one o.o;

Iveechan June 17th, 2004 11:01 AM

Yeah but Sandstream makes it hard for the rest of your team. It's great for a one on one death match. I thought the new guy was Sir Chris, but he seems to be replaced. When I saw Timid nature on Sudowoodo, I was like WTF o_O. I guess Chris had a disagreement with Serebii like everybody else. Sigh.

back on topic... uh... I still like Blaziken the best because it's part Fighting type and has an interesting design.

katty June 18th, 2004 6:30 PM

i like the old plain pikachu, its cute, original, nice and best firend of ash xD

juno_dos June 18th, 2004 6:36 PM

Torchic is far the best coz Combusken can take down the first gym and Blaziken dont look like any old batty lizard pokemon.

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 June 18th, 2004 6:53 PM

I think Torchic and Mudkip are the best starters. Torchic is fast and is strong, especially as it evovles. Mudkip is pretty strong, I'm using it now on my Ruby. It can beat generally everything. It's now a Marshtomp. The only problem I see with Treecko is that it learns not a lot of good attacks. They're really crappy. It doesn't even learn Solarbeam without a TM.

BUT, if I had my choice in every game, I would start out with a Pikachu. I don't feel right starting out with one of the three main starters, it doesn't seem balanced. I like started out with the special element, electricity. Pikachu is so cool, and if it's raised right, it can be really strong, and beat a lot of Pokemon. With Thunder and maybe Iron Tail, gosh...

Frostweaver June 18th, 2004 9:25 PM

well for ingame purposes of course it's strong... if you're battling with it, you better have a light ball... and even with light ball it's still very weak... Raichu isn't much better either sadly, but at least it got surf back.

stewie&rupert June 18th, 2004 11:12 PM

well pikachu cant REALLY learn surf. it can only learn it one way and one way only....actually 2. pokemon box and by of coarse cheating. :\ and even with pkmn box u wont be able to control its nature. since u save wen u trade to r/s the nature would be saved to. and if u get a sp.atk- pichu than surf and electric atks will be weakened. :dead: thats wat i dont like about the boxes eggs.

It's one of those times where you do this:

"Hi <insert name of friend> Can I borrow your Pokemon box for a few days?"
XD

But then... if there is a legal way for Pichu to get surf, then (for me) it's ok to cheat to get a Pichu with surf... as long as it doesn't have any egg moves. As I said before, as long as the result is within legal boundary, I don't mind cheating for Pokemon.

Poke'gangster June 23rd, 2004 12:56 PM

My starter Pokemon are
Red-Squirtle
Blue-Charamander
Yellow-Pikachu!!
Silver-Cyndaquil
Gold-Chickorita
Crystal-Tododile
Ruby-Treeko
Saphire- I'm getting it in three days... what starter should I get?
Fire Red-?
Leaf Green-?

I'm probably going to get a Torchick for Saphire.

Yami's Girl June 23rd, 2004 1:19 PM
