Need help on deciding what I need to do...

I need help deciding what nature, IV's and moves I should have if I wanted to start EVing a Baby shinx. Can anyone help?

Well.... you'll end up with a Luxray, yes?

Luxray @ Life Orb
Adamant/Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
- Spark
- Fire Fang / Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Thunder Wave

IVs... I'm not too sure which ones you'll want better, but those are the moveset, nature + Evs.

Good IVs for Luxray are just excellent 29+ in attack and speed

I'd actually go with Crunch over Fire Fang, and I'd give him Return instead of Thunder Wave. Attach a Choice Band to him and you've got a decently powerful attacker, though I'd rather go with something else if you planned on competitive play. Luxray's really only good for the main game. His speed is way too low for my taste, and most his attacks have low base power. I would also make sure he/she gets Intimidate over Rivalry as an ability. Rivalry can be a bit risky if you're faceing someone of the opposite gender. He'll lose some of the only really good thing going for him, and that's his decent attack stat.

Hope that could be of some help.

It's a learning curve Pokemon for me as I'm learning how to EV train a Pokemon and I'm starting off with a common Pokemon such as "Shinx". Thanks for the help, if anyone else wants to help this thread is still open.

Moveset-wise depends on how your Luxray fits in with your team. And Rivalry > Intimidate in competitive play, especially if it's male as many Pokemon used are generally male in competitive play due to the male-female ratios.

Well, as I said it's something that I'm going to learn from as I haven't EV trained a Pokemon before.

I just wanted some help not a debate. :D

Then you might aswell ditch Shinx and start training competitive pokemon like Tyranitar, Salamence, etc you get the idea

Luxray isn't exactly... terrible... I mean sure he doesn't have a super high speed but, to quote someone's opinion on Luxray:

I mean lets face it, Luxray doesn't have very many good things going for him, his best attack is Spark/Thunder Fang as far as reliable STAB moves that actually DO anything for him. Now I have heard there can be some Special attacker Luxrays, whether it works or not I dunno, but his Special Attack stat is average/decent...

By the way this should be in strategies and move sets.

okay then you give me a pokemon and everything and I'll give it go (something that I have :D)
