impish nature
ev 252def, 128hp, 12? atk
ability; rock head
moves;
double-edge
rest
sleep talk
head smash

please help

MewthreeXL September 14th, 2007 5:37 AM

I'm no expert on Relicanth, but Double Edge should be replaced with something else.Maybe Water
Pulse or Stone Edge.

Samson September 14th, 2007 8:26 AM

if you are trying to use it as a physical wall, then you could go with:

Relicanth @ Leftovers
Impish/Relaxed Nature
252 HP/164 DEF/92 ATK
Ability: Rock Head
-Head Smash
-Waterfall/Surf
-Stealth Rock/Calm Mind/Amnesia/Protect
-Yawn/Protect

resttalk is not good on relicanth because of its X4 grass weakness, as well as its common weakness of electric, ground, and fighting. with this set, you can either use it for basic physical set with waterfal + stealth rock + yawn/protect. you can also use calm mind to boost its special stats as well for surf so that it has a chance against other physical walls like hippowdown/skarmory/donphan and for becoming a good offensive wall even against special sweepers. amnesia is an option if you're worried about special sweepers.

if you want to go for a physical sweeper, you can give it Choice Band:

Relicanth @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
252 ATK/252 HP/4 SPD
Ability: Rock Head
-Head Smash
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock/Yawn/Rain Dance

stealth rock/yawn/rain daince are options for using the move and switchout. all strategic. rain dance is an especially nice one since you can switch relicanth out, bring something else in, and then bring relicanth out for the boost of Waterfall.

if you want to have a physical sweeping relicanth but do not want to have to bother with choice band, you can try the following set:

Relicanth @ Liechi Berry/Life Orb
Adamant Nature
252 ATK/32 HP/224 SPD
Ability: Rock Head/Swift Swim
-Head Smash/Stone Edge
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Rock Polish/Rain Dance

the combos are rock head + head smash + waterfall + eq + rock polish and the other is swift swim + stone edge + waterfall + eq + rain dance. i know everyone prefers rock head, but swift swim does have an advantage. not only does it double relicanth's speed, but it also boosts Waterfall's power by an additional 50%. while Head Smash has a 225 BP with STAB but 80 accuracy, Waterfall has 100% acc, 20% flinch and 160 BP. also, Waterfall being a water type move is more threatening to a lot of pokes. with Rain Dance up, Waterfall would 2HKO blissey.

Eevee Evoulutions are made of fail. Only usable ones are: Jolteon, Vaporeon, and not for begginners, Umbreon.

Anti September 14th, 2007 11:50 AM

Was gonna say the same thing, but umbreon fails in 4th gen too with all the physical sweepers running about with cross chop and close combat...any other questions?

Yeah. So that's removed automatically, so only usables ones are: Vaporeon and Jolteon.

Bold
I fail at EVs for EVlutions...bad joke, I know
~Baton Pass
~Substitute/Acid Armor
~Surf
~Ice Beam/Acid Armor

Off the top of my head really, but one of the best water absorbers IMO.

Well:

Porygon @:Choice Scarf

Tri Attack
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Nasty Plot. Great pokemon overall.

Underused:

Roserade @:Focus Sash
Trait: Natural Cure
Modest Nature
Sleep Powder
Synthsis
Grass Knot
Sludge Bomb. Meh.

** Specsmence (Salamence). @:Choice Specs
Trait: Intimidate
Modest Nature
Hydro Pump
Flamethrower
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse.

Gengar @: Wide Lens
Trait: Levitate
Timid Nature
Substitute
Focus Punch
Thunderbolt
Hypnosis. I prefer this myself.

Starmie @: Focus Sash
Trait: Natural Cure
Timid Nature
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot
Surf. There is a wide pool of sp. sweepers to choose from. Edit: omg, Anti beat me.

No no Itachi! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :P

Porygon-Z with Nasty Plot and Choice Scarf sounds weird, eh?

Gengar needs Focus Sash/Life Orb :)

Roserades without Extrasensory are walled by ANY Poison types, like mr. Weezing. It doesnt need Synthesis

Fire Blast on Salamence :)

Starmie MAY want Rapid Spin but its fine :)

Otherwise good job

shadow_ki6 September 14th, 2007 12:20 PM

thanx alot im gonna go with starmie, salamence, and porygon-z

Wall, and Physical sweepers.. since you already have like 2 Sp Sweepers, make Salamence mixed ?_?

Salamence@Focus Sash
Trait: Intimidate
EV's: 132ATK / 122SAK / 252SPD
Moves:
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Claw/Dragon Rush(But low acc T_T)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake

Oh yeah. I wasn't thinking. Thanks for noticing the typo, and the underlined compliement. Otherwise, Good Rapid Spinner is: Btw, 3 sweepers on your team is a big no-no.

Claydol @: Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
Bold Nature
Rest
Rapid Spin
Ice beam
Reflect. Sp.wall plus Rapid Spinner is a nice one.

shadow_ki6 September 14th, 2007 12:24 PM

would shuckle be a good wall?

Faceless* September 14th, 2007 12:26 PM

Garchomp makes a good Physical Sweeper as well
Choice Band/Scarf Lucario
Taunt DDos

Check Shuckles base HP.... it's only like 20... so its horrible :P It can only take a few hits

Consider this. But yeah, Shuckle is a great wall. cept' for the hp. =/

Shuckle @:Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
Bold/Relaxed Nature
Rest
Gyro Ball
Toxic
Encore. Double Team, I don't like banned moves. :P.

shadow_ki6 September 14th, 2007 12:30 PM

:p no Sandstorm, would be kinda better if he had Sand Veil. Double Team, Evasion Clause is on in Dp. Toxic and Rest are fine.

Anti September 14th, 2007 12:36 PM

Nononononononononononononononononono. Shuckle can't support gyro ball with 10 base attack...but the "nononos" were for using shuckle. First off, its HP sucks, but that isn't the bad part. It is walled by and poison or steel type, or anything with rest/aromtherapy/natural cure, making shuckle a total waste...and cleric is a shuckle counter, sad as it is...use something else, like steelix, a MONSTER wall.

shadow_ki6 September 14th, 2007 12:37 PM

ok now ill need 2 physical sweepers for my team...
what is best to suit my team

Hm... Steelix well the bad thing, he can't take Earthquakes from a Curse Rhypherior :P
