Yes, here we discuss anything that fits into the Shojo category. =]

Welcome Kila. & 22sa. For a moment, I thought that this fanclub wasn`t going to get any members.

I`m so glad to see that there are members in this forum that love Shojo as well, especially since Pocket Monsters isn`t really Shojo.

Now, I`ll add both of you to the list! =]

Rena Ryuugu September 14th, 2007 4:58 PM

Haha. New shojo-ish theme. :O

And there are some shojo scenes in Pocket Monsters.

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 14th, 2007 5:10 PM

I`m guessing it does have its Shoujo moments.

Well, QUESTION TIME! =]

What`s your favorite Shojo-style animanga?
You don`t have to explain why you like it, but if you want you sure can. =]

FMWS, Kirarin Revolution, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, & Kamichama Karin. =] I`ve seen episodes of each, well some of them I`ve seen a couple of times.

22sa September 14th, 2007 5:30 PM

Frankly, I've never thought of animes this way though... which is shojo and which isn't. :\

My favourite shoujo is Looking For The Full Moon (Full Moon wo Sagash ite).

#2 Inuyasha.

If Galaxy Angel counts, that'd be #3 for me.

#4 Sailor Moon.

If DN Angel counts, that'd be #5 for me.

...Tokyo Mew Mew was alright.

Does Spiral count? XD *shrug*

Rena Ryuugu September 15th, 2007 5:33 AM

1 - Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon ~ For the obvious reasons.

2 - Galaxy Angel (yeah, 22sa. I think this could be considered shojo. Or harem. XD) Cos it's lyke the cootiest~~

3 - Nanatsuiro Drops

The teacher tells him that the only way to turn back to normal is to find the chosen girl and let her catch the seven stardrops. This girl is Sumomo, that accepts to help him, though she's not allowed to know the animal's true identity.

Haha. How could you not want to watch that.

4 - Kamichama Karin and Chobits are tie here. :O

5 - I thought that the manga "Manga Mitaina Koi****ai!" (which I believes translates to "Fall in Love Like a Comic") was adorable. It's about this girl, named Rena, who is a famous magaka, who is known for her "steamy love scenes". She isn't the most outgoing girl, though, because whenever she runs into the boy she likes (I think his name is Tomoyo), she freaks out. But then her publisher suggests that she gets some true experience with love... I have yet to read the sequel, but if your into shojo, definitely read this.

EDIT: The title is actually Koi[s-word]ai, but I guess it censors it out even if it doesn't mean that. o_o

Hmm, you can probably count InuYasha as shojo but it`s more shonen. So, I`m not sure really. =| Btw, Tokyo Mew Mew is adorable & Galaxy Angel too! =]

Hazuki September 15th, 2007 10:56 AM

Hey may I join? Shoujo is awesome! =D

Uh my favs? Let's see...

Furuba
Tsuabassa Chronicles
Haruhi Suzumia (I don't know if that is Shoujo XD)
Lucky Star (Again I don't know XD)
Ouran High School Host Club

And I think that's it. =3

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 15th, 2007 12:59 PM

Welcome to the fanclub, Hazuki! =] Lucky Star & Haruhi Suzumiya can be considered Shojo not sure if it really is though.

According to WKPD...

Shojo or Shoujo is a term used in English to refer to manga and anime aimed at a female audience between the ages of 13 and 18. The term is a transliteration of the Japanese 少女, literally lesser, or little girl. The genre is stereotyped as melodramatic stories of romance usually with a female protagonist, and drawn in a flowing style where beautiful characters with huge, intricately drawn eyes become spontaneously surrounded by flowers, stars, and/or bubbles. Shōjo works, however, cover a huge range of subjects, from historical drama to science fiction and by no means do all adhere to the same artistic sensibilities or conventions. In the end, it is not a style or a genre but a demographic.

Yeah, I`m sure both of them are Shojo. =]

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch!

Yeah, I definately wouldn't count Bleach and Naruto as Shojo, so it seems I shouldn't count Inuyasha but.... I can't help but notice Inuyasha has more female fans then male fans! >D

Besides, Inuyasha = hottest Bishounen ever created! >D

Ichigo's pretty! >D

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/29/tmm4ha5.png

Well, these pics don't really show her pretty side, but I didn't make a lot of TMM screenshots unfortunately. v_v;

I like Ichigo x Shirogane much better then with her current bf...

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/8290/tmm2zk5.png

^ Funny face when she caught Ichigo blushing.

Oh yes! Fruits Basket too.

My room is full of FB and Chobits posters actually. <3

I saw some manga cover scans, the one with the girl holding a puppy. It looks like a neat series. =]

Btw, thanks for posting the pictures 22sa. I love Tokyo Mew Mew. =] My favorite character is Minto, Purin & Zakuro. Actually, I like all characters. =] I have Volume Two & Volume Three of the manga, I skipped the first volume since I got them both as a gift for Christmas. One of my goals is to get the first volume.

Rena Ryuugu September 16th, 2007 4:19 AM

Guru Guru Pon-chan is about...

This bizarrely perfect high class family with a insane dog. The dog watches the world, and ends up falling in love with one of her human neighbors.
One of their family members is a mad scientist, and he creates a bone that can turn the dog into a human! :O
So when she licks the bone, she turns into a human. The book is mostly about her learning the ways of a human with adorable shojo scenes spread throughout. <3

Tokyo Mew Mew is cool, I just think they made english version a bit sucky. =P

Has anyone read/seen La Corda d'Oro? I sort of think it's boring but the music is beautiful. XD

Katsu Koneko September 22nd, 2007 9:36 PM

I haven't heard of Kirarin until a few months ago when Kedex subbed it..now they dropped it since this other fansub group decided to sub it. Though this fansub group is sooo slow. >.<

Kirarin reminded me of Full Moon when I first watched it. xD

Would Nanatsuiro Drops be one? :3

Alakazam17 September 22nd, 2007 9:57 PM

Wow, so many that I haven't heard of. And welcome to those who joined after me, XD.

I'm a fan of Inuyasha, though I guess that's borderline. I've seen some Tokyo Mew Mew, but hardly enough to make it count, heh. And as I said before, Sailor Moon is still my favourite. ^_^

I guess I have some catching up to do.

I still need to read Gentlemen alliance xD

Inept Prodigy September 23rd, 2007 2:02 PM

Gentlemen Alliance seems like it would be good. And since it's from the creators of FMWS, it guess it is good, though I haven't really read much of FMWS (A few volumes, and I don't really remember the story, but I know it was good).

Midori Chi September 23rd, 2007 6:47 PM

Older teen as in 16+? I'm sure a lot have people have read/watched older teen, even if they aren't old enough. There are a lot of mature people nowadays, but there are also very immature people too.

*raises hand* My first 16+ manga was Chobits and I was...13 at the time I think. xD

Inept Prodigy September 24th, 2007 5:58 PM

Weird, I was 13 when a friend introduced Chobits to me. I asked him to get me a good manga, and he got me Chobits and Love Hina. So I finished my manga collection of both of them, because it looks better that way.

Yes, I like that song also... well, they are two endings I think do I don`t really know which one you are talking about. =| I`ve seen the one with the puppet walking thru a city during night time, I forgot the name of the song though. Anyways, I always buy mangas & DVDs or I just watch it on television. =]

Awesome. I wish I had the whole manga collection of the Chobits series. =|

Does anyone here watch Cardcaptor Sakura?

I'm talking about the first ending, but I forgot how the scenes look like. I have the manga collection too, it's only 8 volumes.

I watched Cardcaptor Sakura, my friend also let me borrow all the volumes of the manga. I have some of the episodes (I think 1-43) and both movies, also from my friend. He downloaded them and gave some to me, I keep forgetting to ask him for the rest.

Katsu Koneko September 26th, 2007 11:16 PM

Rena Ryuugu September 29th, 2007 6:44 AM

Chobits is so amazing. But when you're 12... maybe not so much. I read it when I was 8. though, so I'm not one to talk. XD

Awuu, is it cute? I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yettt. -pouts-

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 29th, 2007 12:36 PM

Tsuwabuki is a normal student, though not very social. One day he meets a new transfer student, named Sumomo Akihime, and another girl, both the only members of the gardening club. Tsuwabuki is forced by a teacher to join this club. But then he bumps into a strange guy with dog ears, switching his drink with they guy's by mistake. Drinking it, he is turned in a stuffed animal. The teacher tells him that the only way to turn back to normal is to find the chosen girl and let her catch the seven stardrops. This girl is Sumomo, that accepts to help him, though she's not allowed to know the animal's true identity.
Summary from here

Inept Prodigy September 29th, 2007 8:50 PM

It seems really cool, maybe I should check it out sometime.

Katsu Koneko September 29th, 2007 8:51 PM

All but one episode is fansubbed. Gah I wanna see what happens next! You can watch it on here, but you have to register in order to watch it.

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 29th, 2007 8:59 PM

Ooh! Sweet! =] Haha. The animanga sounds adorable! I wish I could read the manga though, too add it to my manga collection! Thanks for link Katsu Koneko! =]

Katsu Koneko September 29th, 2007 9:01 PM

Same heree~ I hope it gets licensed!

Rena Ryuugu September 30th, 2007 5:33 AM

Well, they've liscenced Shakugan no Shana, as well as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, both ofwhich the creator of Nanatsuiro Drops worked on... So hopefully Nanatsuiro Drops in anime form will come soon. <3

There is a possibility that it might get licensed! =] w00t!

Rena Ryuugu September 30th, 2007 6:30 AM

Yay! -does the 4th page dance-

Has anyone else watched The Melancholy Haruhi Suzumiya?

Lol.

Oh & yeah, I`ve seen part of it on YouTube, but I heard it`s very popular now.

EmeraldSky September 30th, 2007 10:00 AM

I tried to get into it, but it was weird, confusing, and didn't make any sense.

Then I learned you are SUPPOSED to watch them out of order to have it make sense.

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 30th, 2007 4:45 PM

Lol. I saw Suzumiya on YouTube, but I still don`t really know what the 'whole' plot is all about. =|

Inept Prodigy September 30th, 2007 4:56 PM

Suzumiya is one of the best ever. Yeah, you are supposed to watch it out of order. They tell you the chronological order and the airing order at the end of each episode, though. Haruhi says the chronological order and Kyon says the airing one. I love the dance.

Midori Chi September 30th, 2007 6:39 PM

I love the dance too. And the Lucky Star dance. XD

Sheena--Fujibayashi September 30th, 2007 8:31 PM

I`ve seen the Lucky Star dance as well. Lol, I find it pretty funny, don`t really know why though. x3

Katsu Koneko September 30th, 2007 9:15 PM

I've watched the whole series on youtube last summer. xD

I wonder why the DVDs come in chronological order. >.<

EmeraldSky October 1st, 2007 4:57 AM

I also tried to watch Lucky Star, but got bored with it after the second episode...probably because I didn't see very much of a plot.

Midori Chi October 1st, 2007 5:27 PM

Maybe to be less confusing? XD

Emerald Sky: I was bored with it at first too. They just talked about food for awhile, but it really is cute. =D It gets better~ And funny~

Sheena--Fujibayashi October 1st, 2007 5:32 PM

Lol. They talk about food. xD; It seems funny.

That animanga is quite popular. <- talking about LuckyStar.

Katsu Koneko October 1st, 2007 9:05 PM

I stopped watching Lucky Star after the first episode. -shot-

That episode was so boring IMO..I actually constantly checked how much was left. -falls over-

Sheena--Fujibayashi October 1st, 2007 9:15 PM

It was that boring? =O Wow, lol. Though the characters do seem adorable. I love the Lucky Channel. x]

Sheena--Fujibayashi October 2nd, 2007 7:01 PM

I`ve heard of MKR before. Seems cool since it`s CLAMP.

I used to watch Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon a long time ago, though I didn`t see the whole series. I have seen almost every movie though like Super S & all of them. =] I remember watching it every morning before going to school. I loved it also. My favorite character is Sailor Mars!

Katsu Koneko October 2nd, 2007 10:32 PM

For me Lucky Channel was the best thing in that episode. xD -falls over-

Anyways..noo spoilers pleaseee~ ;o; I haven't seen the whole series..

MKR I've only seen the three episode OVA.

Inept Prodigy October 2nd, 2007 11:41 PM

I've never even watched MKR, but I have the manga of both seasons.

EmeraldSky October 3rd, 2007 4:57 AM

I've seen a good chunk of the series subbed and have two volumes of the manga (in English)

Sheena--Fujibayashi October 3rd, 2007 5:20 AM

Hey, I`ve seen Lucky Channel as well. I think it`s hilarious. Lol, I feel sorry for that guy. x]

I want to read the MKR manga, to add to my almost growing manga collection! 8D
