Breloom?

I have become attached to them, and I want to know if I should use it?Any good set?

Samson September 15th, 2007 9:08 AM

yeah, breloom is awesome, but it takes some work to make it work.

Any good moveset, oh almighty Samson?

Anti September 15th, 2007 9:13 AM

Yeah, it is a great subpuncher...

[email protected]
Jolly
252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP
~Spore
~Focus Punch
~Leech Seed
~Substitute

That set has done wonders for me, the only downside being and ghost walls it...but you can put them to sleep if you are faster and then escape...and flying types lol at this too...you can always put an attack move in one of the last two slots.

Samson September 15th, 2007 9:14 AM

almighty? too much bible study? XD

well the standard set is pretty much SporePunch:

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Adamant/Jolly Nature
252 ATK/252 SPEED/4 DEF
Ability: Poison Heal
-Focus Punch
-Seed Bomb/Rock Slide/Stone Edge
-Substitute
-Spore

yeah... the standard.

some people (like me), prefer breloom to be a little bulky and have Mach Punch for quick finishing. other than that, that is breloom's true calling.

Anti September 15th, 2007 9:17 AM

Yes, Samson's set works very well...it's really all breloom is good for IMO.

I like that set, with Jolly or Adamant? Also, could it have a place in my team?

Not really.. Breloom can also be a SubSeeder and it works well as one. It can make use of Focus Punch too, as Leech Seed forces switches.

Sora_8920 September 15th, 2007 9:33 AM

I use:

Breloom @:Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
Jolly Nature
Seed Bomb
Leech Seed
Focus Punch
Spore.

Faceless* September 15th, 2007 9:36 AM

Toxic Orb is a guarantee so the opponent themselves can't burn or sleep Breloom

Um. Is can't, what you mean? As you don't a Burned, or any other stats condition for that matter, Breloom. :P

DAMN TYPO! lol
I'd go Seed Bomb on Breloom because it wont do anything at all to Ghosts. But if Breloom comes up against a Poison type like Gar, It's helpless

That's why you have a pokemon on your team that you switch out to, like Guts:

Milotic @:Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
Bold Nature
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk. Or you can go Calm, so you can survive a Thunderbolt, I suppose.

Sleep Talk is a risk and Gamble... I dont count on Sleep Talk at all becuase it keeps using Rest lol

Star★Seeker September 15th, 2007 9:51 AM

Breloom @:Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EV's:252 ATK/252 SPD/4 HP
Jolly Nature
Seed Bomb
Leech Seed
Focus Punch
Spore

Could the move Counter fit in there somehow?

Hmm yeah. I'll choose a more safer, alternate opinion.

Milotic @:Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
Calm Nature
Sleep Talk
Surf
Ice Beam
Recover. work pretty fine, switch it on Hypnosis.

Focus Punch is already your incredible fighting move

He's right. However, Substitute, which makes it a Subpuncher would be nice. Why? in Dp, there is a special little thing called "Sleep Clause". Which makes it so, you can only put one pokemon to sleep. Put it in place of Spore, if you're going to use it.

Edited, help on Leech seed or Spore.

Leech Seed, simple as that. Spore purpose on Breloom, is to help with Focus Punch. However, you already have Substitute. Also, Substitute is just another option if you play wi-fi. As people will usually be battling with that rule. (Sleep Clause).

Star★Seeker September 15th, 2007 10:31 AM

Then Leech Seed it is!Now I just need to get one with good Iv's.

If any newbie asks, that is short for the term(s). "Indivudual Values". Sorry to use your Thread, just to say that.

Anti September 15th, 2007 11:14 AM

Actually, I prefer spore and sub, but yeah, leech seed works fine too...

Samson September 15th, 2007 11:49 AM

leech seed isn't the best on breloom, honestly. it switches in and out a lot, so leech seed becomes pointless on it.

Mach Punch, is another option then.
