advertising or not?

To be infractioned for "advertising", do you have to have a link or else go into some kind of commercial-like post? Or is simply posting a banner that doesn't link to the site and has other relevant value in the topic advertising if it has the site name on it?

if this is what you mean...

you can't have it in a post... but you CAN have it in a signature. as long as the link in your signature doesn't lead anywhere innapropriate (pg13+)

If it's pointing to another site (especially a forum) in any way in a post, then it's considered advertising and may lead to a warning. This includes leaving just a link, or even doing something such as telling people "check out my sig/some other place, it's in there".

So using a forum link as the usertitle counts too?

No, it doesn't. At least I think so. It's on your free will what you put under your name, even a forum link. Hope I said it right... Anyways, you can edit your usertitle if staff members don't like the link being there.

I'm not linking to it. I'm not telling anyone to go there. I just posted a banner that does not link to the site. The only reason it could be advertising is because the banner has the site name on it. The banner was posted because it has Eevees on it, and the topic was about Eevee graphics.

Although it doesn't link, it still technically is a form of advertisement so it would be adviseable to not use any banners that may possess the name of a forum, etc.
