Sleep Talk is awful when you dont have rest to go with it, and aswell Choice Scarf is also an option

Ok the changes are in bold

Syaoran September 17th, 2007 11:25 AM

Sleep Talk Heracross proves very useful against predicted Spore/Hypnosis. Heracross doesn't need anymore than Stone Edge, Megahorn and Close Combat.

Protect on Blissey and Suicune helps scouting Choice users, it's extremely useful, and more than hilarious when people try to explode on Blissey. ^^

Rest-talk Suicune doesn't cover much with only Surf as an attacking move, and believe me, it has no purpose without Calm Mind. Rest alone welcomes 2hko's and isn't so great when you don't have a healer in the team (Heal Bell/Aromatherapy).

I personally hate ground moves, for all the levitators out there. That's why I prefer Psychic on Claydol.

Thanks for your critique.

Well yeah now you put it that way it looks fine....

Im probably a little too standard with movesets

Its good to see your thinking outside the box.

Anti September 17th, 2007 12:03 PM

Yes, I love the creativity. However, I should point out that heracross and Vire do a number to this team...mostly heracross...otherwise, it looks rather strong. Nothing I can think of at the present time that is wrong with the team anyways. So yeah.

Samson September 17th, 2007 12:04 PM

o.o but psychic is stinkah XD the coverage on earth power is so much better with ice beam. i don't think you need me to tell you that. besides that, i'd hate to get walled by a starmie. omg no ._. grass knot or earth power plz.

whatever happened to getting rid of claydol for donphan?

also... you're only gyara counter is still explosion on azelf.

It doesn't need a Rest. This kind of Heracross isn't as common but it can be useful at many times, most notably against predicted Spore/Hypnosis.

Syaoran September 17th, 2007 4:19 PM

Thanks guys.

Well... I decided Thunder Fang Donphan wouldn't be that useful only for Gyarados. Stone Edge Heracross can take care of that (and in fact it did numerous times ^^). But still, Claydol doesn't feel 100% right, even with Psychic (which will work very well against Weezing). Perhaps Charge Beam? Eh, I hate this move.. maybe I'll try Earth Power after all.

Iceman3k September 17th, 2007 6:05 PM

Now just out of curiosity, but uh, you didn't SHARK your team, did you? I'm asking that because you posted all Shinys.

Mrs. Weasley (♀) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Softboiled

ERROR: BLISSEY CAN'T GET WISH UNLESS IT'S FROM NYPC
I'm keeping my eye on you.

Hedwig @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/124 SAtk/132 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Reflect
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power

Similar to what I run with, except I use Light Screen.

http://www.dragonflycave.com/dpspritesshiny/245suicune.png

Silver Lynx @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Surf
- Protect

Fair enough, I guess.

Dumbledore (♂) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 32 HP/224 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Overheat
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Heatran on drugs, it seems.

Hagrid (♂) @ Choice Band
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sleep Talk
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge

Choice Band is so old news, but whatever.

You have no type of Defense against DD Tyranitar and Gyarados.
(Heracross does not qualify, sorry)

Syaoran September 17th, 2007 6:31 PM

DD tyranitar? Azelf lolz at it with 2hkos. (over 60% damage with Hp fighting).

And wow! You actually think I have this in my DS? This is for Shoddy competitive battling.

Also Azelf loses 1 point in speed due to HP fighting (hence it will never outrun its full speed natured 115 base neighbours anyway), so there's no need giving it full speed EV's (the speed tier list over Smogon conforms it).

And if you expect Azelf to walk in on Tyranitar with 1 Dragon Dance on his belt, AND you're allowing him to set up another seeing as Sp. Attacks do **** to Tyranitar (Including HP Fighting ;x), then you better pray for a miracle that you land a Critical Hit, because otherwise, you'd allow Tyranitar to make full work of your team.

Also, not everyone uses (or knows about) whatever this Shoddy is, my dear.

Also, if you're only losing 1 Speed point, that only brings it down to 360 Speed, which is still essential for outspeeding anything in the 359 class.

Syaoran September 17th, 2007 6:50 PM

I would never switch Azelf INTO T-Tar, lol. Calm Mind suicune can handle it, and so is Heracross. Azelf was mentioned since most people who use T-Tar, place him as their starter.

As for outrunning 359 pokemon...

361 - +nature/252 Raikou, Azelf, Ambipom, Starmie (115)
359 - 252 Jolteon, Crobat, Aerodactyl (130)
350 - +nature/252 Gengar, Tauros, Espeon (110)

I seriously doubt people who use any of the base 130 speed won't give them a speed nature. Dobby is 351 speed.

CalmCune is your ONLY possible defense against Tyranitar.
And as far as Heracross goes, it's not living past a DD-Boosted Stone Edge.

Unless of course, you're probably going to be clever enough and try to catch it when it FIRST comes in, which the enemy will switch to a Ghost Type anyway.

I suppose I understand you on the Speed, but even to this day, Speed is an important priority to me. But, 352 works fine, I suppose.

Samson September 17th, 2007 10:08 PM

i wanted you to be clear that ddtar usually has taunt, so suicune wouldn't be a solution to ddtar... at least not an ideal one.

maybe you should go with a relaxed nature claydol and give it earthquake (for ttar + bliss) or explosion (or like you mentioned, charge beam). a little boltbeam won't hurt you, i suppose.
