More Team Help

Still trying to figure out my team - I haven't bothered working out EVs or items yet, but here it is

Skarmory
- Spikes
- Roar
- Rest
- Drill Peck

Milotic
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Recover
- Hypnosis

MixedMence
- Flamethrower
- Dragon Pulse
- Brick Break
- Earthquake

Gengar
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast

Medicham @ Choice Scarf
- Thunderpunch
- Fire Punch
- Hi Jump Kick
- Psycho Cut

And EITHER

Ninjask
- Baton Pass
- Agility
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

OR

Scizor
- Swords Dance
- Agility / Iron Defense
- Baton Pass
- X-Scissor

I had to put in Medicham because I had Garchomp before, and that left my team with no way of countering Milotic, and an even more serious Weavile weakness than it currently has.
I don't particularly like Medicham, so if you can suggest a Physical Sweeper who can learn a good physical Electric / Grass move, who doesn't have a weakness to Ice or Water, please tell me.
But yes, the '???'s are free move slots, so help yourselves.

Any suggestions would be cool, as long as they're not too abrasive.

Electivire counters Milotic and Weavile.

NEVER use curse on ghosts...I know you can trap them, but Dusnoir can get killed easily after using it...max HP on it BTW.

Persona September 30th, 2007 2:52 PM

Half your team suffers from Ghost types. Gengar doesn't necessarily require both Energy Ball and Thunderbolt, just one of the two will do. Hidden Power Ice could be a substitute to hurt Dragon types, but if it's too much trouble for you to obtain the correct HP, Hypnosis could work. Focus Blast on the last slot, to somewhat hurt Blissey harder.

Unfortunately, Medicham has lost one of its most useful moves in the past gen - the physical Shadow Ball. Its best choice now is Psycho Cut, as it grants Medicham with the opportunity to hurt other Ghost types, plus it gains STAB, so I recommand using it for the last slot. Brick Break is an option over High Jump Kick, but it's your personal preference. While its power is lower, you won't risk the chance in receiving self-damage if you either miss or use it on a Ghost type. Ice Punch instead of Fire Punch, for a physical-based BoltBeam.

Can Medicham learn Psycho Cut?? And if so, when? It doesn't mention it on bulbapedia.

Thanks for the advice so far btw

Its an egg move

level up a male Kadabra untill it learns the move and Breed it with a female Medicham/Meditite, you will then have a baby Meditite with Psycho Cut.

Awesome, thanks.

Could risk setting off Milotic's marvel scale with the thunderpunch I'm just realising...

Well it wont often happen, and i believe that Thunderpunch will near on OHKO Milotic due to its ability Pure power.

EDIT:

Medichams max attack with adamant nature = 240 + Pure Power = 480 (with max speed 259)

Medicams max attack with jolly Nature = 219 + Pure Power = 438 (with Max Speed 284)

Somehow i dont think Milotics going to be lasting long lol

Adamant goes with the Choice Scarf

Jolly goes with the Choice Band

Shadow147 October 24th, 2007 8:47 AM

ah yes yes, forgot about Pure, good point.

Although he's a really good option, I'm still not entirely sure about Medicham, since I really don't like him - would there be any other viable alternatives do you think? I thought about Tyranitar, but he's got the water weakness, and only really learns Thunder Fang, which is rather weak, although he is a tank...

Both require Choice Scarf. Choice Band is somewhat optional, but with Scarf-Happy Heracross users (like one person who used ScarfCross against my Medicham and lost lol) roaming around, Jolly nature w/Scarf is often preferred.

Also, Thunderpunch is pointless since it does as much as a STABed Hi Jump Kick =/

Its there for bulky waters such as Slowbro, Gyarados, Starmie etc. Its not fully pointless, but i understand what ya mean by using it on Milotic.

Yeah, good point, forgot about that. I can't count the number of times I've been walled on Battle Tower by one of those >.<

Shadow147 October 25th, 2007 9:10 AM

So do you think it'd be worth having it there? What's the consensus?

Shamfrit-The-Scorched October 25th, 2007 1:23 PM

Aqua Ring on Milotic instead of Recover?

Aqua Ring fails, Recover restores 1/2 of your health and Aqua Ring restores 1/16 lol

Milke October 25th, 2007 1:35 PM

I may sound stupid, but waht is mixed mence on your team??

Shiraishi October 25th, 2007 2:29 PM

A Salamence with both physical and special attacks.

Shadow147 October 30th, 2007 3:44 PM

Hey guys, what if I were to replace Noir with Skarm...

I'm still working on replacing Cham with a physical sweeper I like... I would LOVE to make it Absol - anyone see problems with him?

I do, and I see a ton of problems.

Absol doesn't have that awesome Pure Power that Medicham gets, and it doesn't have the diverse choice of moves that Medicham gets as well. And not to mention it's slower. Keep Medicham, and if you still want to lose Medicham, then use Heracross, if anything. But don't use Absol unless you're crazy enough to abuse Super Luck (which really isn't helping much w/o Razor Claw or Scope Lens, and he's too slow to abuse those too)

Shadow147 November 1st, 2007 8:15 AM

Right I'll go with him then.

Ok, first post has been updated - How is it looking now?
