evee's evolution move sets

what are the best move sets for evee's evolutions (all 5)

Toothache June 20th, 2004 1:35 PM

Don't forget a pure Eevee, that makes 6 ;-)

Kabutops June 20th, 2004 1:35 PM

yeh well isnt evee not all that good before evolving?

Toothache June 20th, 2004 1:49 PM

Well, that's a true test of a Trainer... making a good battling Eevee without evolving...

Kabutops June 20th, 2004 2:02 PM

lol definately, but anyway back on topic... WHAT ARE THE BEST MOVESETS??? add evee's too if you want...

Frostweaver June 20th, 2004 2:40 PM

*sigh* Once again, it's hard to know what moveset you need if we don't know what role they're made for... so I'll just randomly throw on good moves and whatever.

Jolteon- [speed + / atk -] @ lum/petaya
EV: Sp.atk. speed, or anything but atk
-thunderbolt
-hp ice/grass
-thunderwave/baton pass
-substitute

Vaporeon- [sp.def or sp.atk + / atk -] @ leftovers
EV: anything but atk
-surf
-ice beam
-haze
-wish/toxic

Flareon- [atk + / sp.atk -] @ quick claw/leftovers
EV: hp, atk, spdef
-overheat
-quick attack
-shadowball
-return/HP Physical

Espeon- [sp.atk or speed + / atk -] @ lum berry
EV: Sp.atk, speed, sp.def?
-psychic
-calm mind
-morning sun
-hp special

Umbreon- [def or sp.def + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers
EV: def, hp, sp.def, atk
-curse/double team/screech/protect
-rest
-baton pass/toxic/confuse ray/return or HP physical
-mean look/shadowball

I have no idea how to handle Eevee...

stewie&rupert June 20th, 2004 10:29 PM

let me handle evee... wow i just looked into it and evee is looow stat'd. its highest is 65 sp.def. oh well just to fill in the 6th slot(until the off chance they make a grass evee but lets not get off topic please).
evee(atk or spd+/sp.atk-)*quick claw
atract/double team/protect
wish
quick atk/return
sand atk
toxic/shadow ball*ghost

evee cant do much but just annoy but thatll be useless if u dont move first so i sadly put quick claw.good luck with this but i cant find anything better.

Xilion_Sword90 June 21st, 2004 4:45 AM

[email protected] Berry
Endure
Flail
Quick Attack
Shadow Ball

He's a bit slow though...

Mew9 June 21st, 2004 9:10 AM

I would put shadow ball or HP Dark on Espeon to counter its Ghoast weakness.
Espeon
Psychic
Calm Mind
Morning Sun
Shadow Ball/HP Dark

Frostweaver June 21st, 2004 12:55 PM

all ghost attack users are normal type so no worries... Gengar pacts focus punch, not shadowball, and it's not like you can kill Dusclops regardless of HP Dark or not if Dusclops is going to shadowball you. Banette is easily destroyed with just psychic.

The HP should be anythiong your team is lacking to me...

As for eevee, just have to go with the hopes of endure/flail, but don't expect it to OHKO much of anything.

Mew9 June 21st, 2004 1:00 PM

Espeon haz a higher speed, though, so it could kill Dusclops w/ 2 shadow ball or HP Dark b4 Dusclops could kill it. Wat i'm sayin is that if Espeon can kill Dusclops in 2 shadow balls/HP Darks (which it should), Dusclop can only use one Shadow ball and will die b4 espeon does.

Mana Lugia June 21st, 2004 1:07 PM

Espeon can't kill a bean with shadow ball if the bean was already split ._.

Espeon using Shadow ball at neutral personalities to both pokemon will result between 26-31% to Dusclops, assuming Dusclops has max HP, which I would have gotten it. That way, it's a 4HKO on Dusclops. And that's assuming you maxed out Espeon's attack for whatever reason you had.

Edit: HP dark does 34-42% to Dusclops at maxed out Special A and special D for each poke, assuming neutral personalities and max Dusclops HP.

So either way Dusclops pulls off a few shadow balls.

Espy takes 57-68% from a max atk shadow ball from dusclops on a max Def espy, so...

Frostweaver June 21st, 2004 1:16 PM

don't forget how Dusclops will use protect ever skipping turn to heal off... so add in 1 more shadowball and 1 more HP Dark in the calculation. That is almost equal to an Alakazam trying to kill Unmentionable-B in terms of the saddness level.

Iveechan June 21st, 2004 1:56 PM

You could always baton pass acid armor/agility onto Eevee. That would make it surprising. Imagine having your team being owned by a little bunny pomeranian? X)

Toothache June 21st, 2004 3:00 PM

See, I knew people could think of good stuff for an Eevee :-)

Mana Lugia June 22nd, 2004 6:02 AM

Yeah, but on that tangent you could do that for a lot of pokemon, especially ones who are weaker AND stronger than Eevee, making Eevee look really pointless.

Eg: I've seen GSC Netbattle sweeps where Magikarp swept teams after baton passed +6 in all stats :x

Suzu June 22nd, 2004 7:32 AM

eevee= Takedown, Baton Pass, Shadowball, & Wish. I love my eevee :p

Frostweaver June 22nd, 2004 9:14 AM

anything can sweep after getting all stats multiplied by 4... o.o;; there's bubble and tackle ^^

and never use take down... it's worst than slash =/

Mew9 June 22nd, 2004 9:53 AM

isn't ghoast a special type, not a physical? if not, thats my problem. hmmm.............

Mana Lugia June 22nd, 2004 9:59 AM

Ghost is physical, yes. Dark is special though.
