Ingame Computer trainers beating you? LOL

Has anyone EVER been defeated by a computer trainer in D/P? I have because of the Raining on one route that screwed my Infernape over really bad XD

after all, I WAS too lazy to go back to the Pokemon Center and heal him :\ which means my 3 other Pokes were murdered by paralysis

ShadowTails October 16th, 2007 1:06 PM

Gyms usually can be the only time besides the League for me... I personally hate when you're trying to raise up a weaker Pokemon or are going through the game and you run into a trainer who goes God mode on you... =\ Even if your "weaker Pokemon" has the advantage... and then they'll use a dumb move that should do like no damage and it kills you... Fury Swipes... hahaha...*faint* *cries*

Gibbo October 16th, 2007 1:37 PM

I don't think I ever have because the only ones that ever stand a chance are gym leaders I guess, Elite Four I always completely destroy them as I have type advantages and higher levels by the time I reach them, and since I save in front of those important battles if I sense a battle is going badly I just switch it off like it never happened...

Bishopk October 16th, 2007 1:52 PM

I have a certain game mentality: Beat it at all cost. Sometimes, this means buying the occasional extra item or going back and training, but usually soft resetting once I'm in a position to kill.

Like with Gym Leaders. I will stand right next to them, save, and battle. If I lose, I make no adjustments, just soft reset and try again.

Dogod October 16th, 2007 4:02 PM

That almost happened to me, I was almost badly beaten by some trainer after I had had 10 fights in a row on a route, I was down to one pokemon, and that pokemon was able to use struggle to defeat my opponent's last pokemon, but it was left with one HP, me having no items to restore HP or PP, and 0 PP on any move. I got to a pokemon center fast after that. That was the closest I've ever come to being beaten.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ October 16th, 2007 5:40 PM

no trainer in that game has ever defeated me completely maybe just one of my Pokemon, but not all of them. Well my Banette was at 1HP and she was the only Pkmn I had with me at the time, that was the closes I was ever at to losing

Same trainers kicked my butt , only time appart from Fantina and Roark and E4.

diamondpearl876 October 16th, 2007 6:27 PM

I don't lose to in-game players unless all of my pokemon are reallllly hurt and about to die, and I'm too lazy to go to the pokemon center. XD

Znale October 16th, 2007 9:54 PM

I've never lost against a computer in my Diamond. When I still was a noob, and Pokémon Blue™ and Pokémon Red™ recently came out, it took me 7 tries to get through the Pokemon League in my Pokemon Blue™ game.

Ayano Katagiri October 16th, 2007 11:34 PM

I have in the E4 when I entered with my Pokemon really underdone... that wasn't such a good outcome. I've never really been beaten by trainers, except I think one Dragon trainer who I couldn't seem to kill one on one...

Lumine October 17th, 2007 1:10 AM

Nope never in the 2nd 3rd and 4th gen but I lost to Gary in the E4 Pokemon Yellow first time playing it XD

Angelic Diablo October 17th, 2007 1:20 AM

2nd Round Elite Four in LG was a pain... the rest of them haven't been too bad

ItzMike October 17th, 2007 1:58 AM

Yeah im playing FR right now on an Emulator

is it just me or is the second evrsion of gary (with the tyranitar) invincible

I mean even if i have water pokemon he can take 3 hydro cannons or frenzy plants and survive.

luckyCHARMS October 17th, 2007 2:05 AM

i had to try nd try again countless times with the E4 on pearl because i wus stubborn nd went into it with 3 pokes in they're 50's nd 3 other below lvl 20 HM slaves LOL .. i used lvl 53 infernape, lvl 52 luxray nd lvl 52 palkia. took me forever but finally got it done with those 3 lvl 50 pokes .. i just put in the HM slaves as rag dolls when any of my lvl 50's were low on hp or fainted LOL .. im so evil.

Bishopk October 17th, 2007 4:42 AM

Because I usually don't buy items in game, I take all the money I've hoarded and buy revives for the E4. Usually it's 60-some. Oh, and hyper potions too. Them's coolness.

Kraka-chan October 17th, 2007 7:22 AM

I've never had that problem since I always train my Pokemon to a respectable level and I always tend to reset the game when I'm in trouble.

Smarties-chan October 17th, 2007 7:25 AM

As much as I hate to admit it, it did take me a couple of tries to take down Lucian. My Pokémon were seriously under-leveled and half my team was weak to Psychic. I just wanted to get to migrate my Pokémon from Emearld as fast as possible so I pretty mcuh rushed through the game, which is the reason for why my Pokémon were under-leveled. Apart from that, I've never lost a battle except in the Battle Tower due to hax. (Who doesn't love to be hit by Sheer Cold twice in a row? =\ )

Lucian was a ***** to beat

When i got him down to his last poke and he sent out bronzong i practically threw myself against a wall argh i hate it so much its almost invincible to even fire blast if it gets in a calm mind

P.s Sheer Cold hitting twice O.o Wow Your Pokemon Game must hate you what have you been doing to it?

Bronzong's levitate ability sucked aswell

˚° ﺎ ﮟ סּ ﻛ °˚ October 17th, 2007 11:24 AM

ive only been beaten in the battle tower

Jr. Berry Master October 17th, 2007 2:49 PM

Getting close to defeat and then soft resetting (or turning off) should count as a loss. You were not beaten...You resigned.

I don't think I've beaten the E4 on my first try in any version.
- Maybe I beat them first try in Crystal...Don't remember -- That was a long time ago. :)

Losing to most of the computer trainers is a sin.
Unless you've just made your way through some trial or another and get surprised.
Nothing worse than sneaking back to a Poke Center, you come around a corner and some trainer spots you.

I also had problems with him and his Bronzong. >_> So, you're not the only one. XD

I recall Cynthia being surprisingly the easiest.

Bebetrunks October 17th, 2007 4:18 PM

I've never lsot unless im training a low level pokémon AFTER I have beaten the game. Otherwise my 6 man team is always 15-20 levels higher then my opponent and have a team composed of each main type. I save my money and only buy pokéballs and just beat the elite four with one pokémon of the opposing type. Honestly this game is one of the easiest games ever made, but i <3 it still.

Rai October 17th, 2007 4:34 PM

I was beaten once by one of Galatic people o___o I was like half asleep x__x

ToraSushii October 17th, 2007 6:44 PM

Nope, never. Except for FireRed/LeafGreen.
Their Elite Four is hard and powerful, so I lose to them like a lot. :P

Apathetic_Yen October 17th, 2007 6:58 PM

u have to suck, be lazy at training, or have no idea at what you're doing to lose in D/P (no offense to those who have). I've lost to NPC's before, but in G/S when i was little

ShadowTails October 17th, 2007 7:08 PM

It's not that hard to lose to a ingame trainer, all they have to do is get that Critical hit, all they have to do is get you with surprise... all they have to do... is USE A FREAKING 1HKO MOVE WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO BEAT THEM AND IT'S YOUR LAST POKEMON THAT ACTUALLY STANDS A CHANCE AND IT HITS!...

Stevo-kun October 17th, 2007 7:38 PM

I've only lost in the Battle Tower.. stupid leader at 21 battles beat me.. with his last Pokemon. I even had type advantage and his Milotic just WOULDN'T die. ><;. But otherwise, I haven't lost to anyone else..

I'm nowhere being a n00b, the Rainy weather obliterated by Infernape, all it had was like Flamethrower to use against a Ghost-type. Close Combat on Ghost-types? XDXDXDXD

J-Rad October 18th, 2007 2:34 PM

only gym leaders, and occasanaly I forget how strong my rival is and get beeten

electricgrass October 19th, 2007 4:36 PM

I remeber, I lost to cynthia once even when my whole team was Lv.65-67, and then in my first game I only had to redo Cynthia(three times though), but my team was Lv.51 and lower however

Shiraishi October 19th, 2007 4:37 PM

I got pwnt in the battle tower by an Electivire..with ice punch :[

Gooberdued October 19th, 2007 4:50 PM

I don't remember a time 'sept in the Battle Tower where I've been beaten, I try to repress those memories ><

Although I do remember a trainer in RSE on the route after Fortree City who had a Lv20-30 something Milotic. Lets just say I lost to that... uh... witch... more then once.

... Okay, after reading that I have to admit I lost to her a few times too. XD I totally forgot about that one.

Beloved October 19th, 2007 8:12 PM

I tend to lean more towards affecting Stats with my weaker guys, then using my big guys to hit where I weakened. For example, I will use Screech on a Gengar, and then Foresight with Machamp and them follow up with Close Combat.

Most people only use damaging attacks. I, personally, enjoy weakening my opponents, all the while protecting myself.

mudkiprulz October 19th, 2007 9:40 PM

ive lost i think atleast 30 times in the battle tower... but i guess IN-game, the elite four to train, about 40 times.

MegaMushroom07 October 20th, 2007 3:28 AM

The only person i've ever lost to in any Gary, or 'Blue' in Pokemon Gold.

Candymancan October 20th, 2007 4:48 AM

I havent lost in this game or leaf/ruby to a trainer from what i can remember, the only trainers i have lost against is a Gym leader or the Elite four

The Champion in this game beat me like 30 times with his garchomp, the main reason tho is because my pokemon were level 48-52ish his was like level 66 or something so i got owned.

I didnt feal like training either cuss i was burned out from the game so i kept going until i beat em then quit for a couple months

The older games icant remember really lol that was like 10 years ago

Bishopk October 20th, 2007 4:58 AM

There's always major hax in the Battle Tower. My best streak (48) ended when my Empoleon was up against some slower pokemon (Rhydon, I think...) with a Quick Claw. It managed to activate Quick Claw twice, once in the beginning to kill Electivire, and once right as I was about to kill it with Empoleon.

Methinks we need a hax-free battle tower :)

Monzae October 21st, 2007 4:55 AM

I speak of course after my Primeape just got molested by some computer trainer :(
It's embarrasing.
Pretty sure it won't happen again.

Omerta October 21st, 2007 9:34 AM

In-game? A few times. I think I've lost... three times (?) in the Battle Tower, other than that, one time, when I was battling Mars at Valley Windworks.

TwilightBlade October 21st, 2007 11:54 AM

Nuu omg. First time I lost in the battle tower and it's my 38th or so win.. The trainer had a Shuckle, Lanturn and Walrein. Shuckle died but the other two were a pain. Basically, Lanturn kept Charge Beaming my Blissey and wracked in quite a few Sp. Atk stat increases so I switched before that would increase even more. My other two pokemon were weak to Electric type but I finally got an Earthquake in and killed it. Then Walrein just Sheer Cold'd my healthy Blissey and boom, I lost to a pitiful computer trainer. I had nightmares. .-.

I also lost to Cynthia a few times too since her pokemon were about 15 levels over mine.
