you lot are all lucky ir in da us.
today: search for info of diamond and peal |
Hmm...yesterday, I caught the weekly Drifloon. It was male, and had a Naive Nature, just like my first Drifloon [who is now a Drifblim on my main team]. Also continued training my Lopunny, another member of my main team. She has Toxic to help her out in major Trainer battles [Elite Four and such] since Return and Drain Punch won't always beat everything.
|
Well I'm up to the E4 I beat Aaron with only my lvl 50 Honchkrow then beats Bertha with only my lvl 51 Torterra Now I'm stuck at Flint <3

I stopped in at the Pokemon News Press, and they asked me to bring them a Misdreavus to look at, so I added my Misdreavus to the team. As a reward, I got 3 Nest Balls. So I continued along Route 215 to Veilstone City, exploring the town a bit. I checked out the huge shopping center where I stocked up on a few more pokeballs for my journey. There's also a large Team Galactic building which I'll have to remember to check out later. And it seems that every pokemon region wouldn't be complete without a game corner where you can gamble your money away. (At least you don't have to win pokemon here, like Porygon in Kanto.) So, I decided to continue training my pokemon before going to the Veilstone Gym, and while doing so my Geodude evolved!! 68. Graveler |

It's time! Two months have passed since I won my last gym badge, I think I'm well overdue for the next one! So I found out the Veilstone Gym Leader's name is Maylene, and she uses fighting-type pokemon. At the Pokemon Center, I stored my entire team, except for Misdreavus, who would be immune to fighting-type attacks. So, I carefully considered what pokemon I should choose to take with me to the gym. Bronzor was my first choice. Its psychic-type moves should help, as well as its high defenses, even though being a steel-type makes it weak to fighting-type moves. A flying-type would be handy too, so I added Hoothoot because it can use Confusion as well as flying-type attacks. Kadabra seems an obvious choice, since it's a psychic powerhouse. And the 5th and final choice will be Golbat, since it's a flying- and poison-type it will doubly resist any fighting-type attacks. In summary, my team = Misdreavus, Bronzor, Hoothoot, Kadabra, Golbat I went into the gym, and trained all 5 of my pokemon against the 4 fighting-type trainers that were there for a warm up. I did have a little trouble beating some of them, but I still think I'm going to take my chances and challenge Maylene. VEILSTONE GYM BATTLE: MAYLENE vs. STEVE It was a 3-on-3 battle, no time limits, substitutions allowed. Use of up to 2 items permitted during the battle. Maylene sent out her first pokemon: Meditite. Interesting, being part psychic-type, psychic moves won't be as effective. So I started the battle with my Misdreavus. I had Misdreavus use Confuse Ray to confuse Meditite, which worked, but not before it used Meditate to increase its attack power. Then I had Misdreavus use Astonish, which was super effective, but Meditite used Meditate again and was able to snap out of confusion. Figures. I had to keep it confused, so I had Misdreavus use Confuse Ray, but Meditite blocked it using Detect. I had Misdreavus try it one more time, and this time it worked well! Meditite was so confused it attacked itself, doing massive damage since it had previously increased its attack power! Unfortunately, Maylene used a Hyper Potion to restore Meditite's strength. Misdreavus used Astonish attack which worked very well, causing Meditite to flinch. I took the opportunity to finish it with one more Astonish attack, making Meditite unable to battle! I recalled Misdreavus to save its strength. Maylene sent out her next pokemon: Machoke. I chose Bronzor to battle next. Machoke used Rock Tomb, trapping my Bronzor and lowering its speed. Not a big deal, since Bronzor is somewhat lacking in the speed department. Bronzor used Confuse Ray, trying to keep with my previous strategy, but Maylene was able to help Machoke shake off its confusion and it used Brick Break, knocking out my Bronzor! Time to change tactics - maximize, Hoothoot! I had Hoothoot use Reflect, which places an invisible barrier reducing the damage from all physical attacks. Machoke used Foresight and then Leer, prepping for a powerful attack. I had Hoothoot use Hypnosis - Maylene's Machoke was too quick! It nimbly dodged, and used Brick Break! Brick Break crashed through the Reflect barrier, and landed on super-powerful hit on Hoothoot, knocking it out. I returned Hoothoot to its pokeball, it tried hard, and deserved a good rest. Only one choice now, go Misdreavus! Misdreavus used Psybeam, which hit hard on Machoke. Maylene responded with Leer, lowering Misdreavus's defense. Machoke was looking tired, so Misdreavus used one more Psybeam, knocking Machoke out! Ok, so things are tied up. Maylene and I each have one pokemon left, but Misdreavus is looking pretty worn out. "This isn't the end, my friend!" Maylene yells, as she tosses her final pokeball. Who's that pokemon? It's Lucario! A newly discovered pokemon, it's a dual fighting- and steel-type. This, I was not prepared for. Lucario opened up using Metal Claw, which landed a devastating hit on my Misdreavus. I told it to hang in there, and fight back using Confuse Ray! It worked, causing Lucario to hurt itself, not once, not twice, but four rounds in a row! Meanwhile, I used a Lemonade on Misdreavus to restore its health, then opened up with a string of Psybeam attacks. Maylene used another Hyper Potion on Lucario, and eventually Lucario snapped out of its confusion, and leaped at Misdreavus with a Metal Claw attack. Misdreavus dodged, and fired back with Psybeam! Too little too late, because the next Metal Claw attack hit the very tired Misdreavus, and one more Metal Claw attack knocked it out. And so, I lost the battle. It seems my third badge will have to wait a while longer, sadly. |
Question OffRoadSP, can you re-fight gym leaders?

I had some amazing luck today! I was helping my sister out by breeding a Ralts on emerald for her with a modest nature and after a few generations of breeding with dittos etc one came out female with flawless sp.atk and good sp.def/HP so we were both happy. I then went to the IV man and checked just to make sure it had flawless sp.atk and checked out the other 4 Ralts that had just hatched and one of them was a male with modest nature (sucks for this but read on and see my luck) and flawless atk and speed! I was so happy as I figured I could have a Gallade and my sister have a Gardevoir. I moved some pokes around in my pc to make room for what I thought would be tons of eggs. I put my Ralts with flawless atk/speed in with an adamant Ditto and everstone and began hatching eggs. In the first 5 eggs I hatched there was a male adamant natured Ralts with flawless atk/speed! How lucky am I? Well anyways rare candied my Ralts to 97, the other Ralts that would become a Gardevoir to level 60 and pal parked them. Gave the Gardy to my sister as I said I would and EV trained my new Gallade! Well it's in my team now and I love it!

Wow, on my way to Victory Road, it was a rather short trip. I also caught a Mantyke on the way, near the end. About 2-3 times I got ready to head through Victory Road, and I find out I need certain Pokemon, with certain HMs.
So when I finally got through (wasnt too hard), I saw that the Pokemon League was the big mansion I saw through that telescope on Sunyshore. I was astonished, and happy at the same time. I had made it. Currently, I am training my team of Pokemon to head into the greatest combination of battles I will ever face. The Pokemon League. |
Started a new game and had my friend help me transfer over some of my favourite Pokemon for my team. Yanma, Grovyle, Meowth and Marshtomp.
Can't remember the first gym challenge specifically but here goes nothin'! Lemon vs. Roark I started out with Piplup (couldn't transfer favourites over yet) and he sent out a Geodude. I started the battle using an X-Defend that I found in the Oreburgh mine, which helped A LOT! His Geodude ended using Stealth Rock. After two Bubble attacks the Geodude went down easily. Next up was Onix. He used a Screech attack and I got it real low health with a Bubble. Roark used a Potion which didn't quite get Onix's health full, I smirked and thought, that was not smart. Another Bubble attack and Onix was down. The hardest part... Cranidos. Roark was not so smart and had his Cranidos use Pursuit instead of Headbutt. I used a Bubble and got it just above half health. He used another Pursuit, I'm under half health. I used a Hidden Power Bug attack which wasn't very effective, but smart so that he wouldn't Potion and I'd be able to KO it with another Bubble, that is, if I didn't die... He used another Pursuit my health was going down, I thought I had lost, but Piplup was left with 1 HP. My plan was successful, and I ended up beating Roark with one more Bubble. I was now very excited since I could transfer over my favourite Pokemon. EDIT:And now later on after I transferred my Pokemon I'm at the second gym. My lineup: Grovyle level 19, Yanma level 21, Meowth level 19 and Marshtomp level 18. Marshtomp will be unused unless it's my last resort. Lemon vs. Gardenia Here we go. Gardenia sends out a level 19 Cherubi, I send out my level 19 Grovyle. My Grovyle starts off with Fury Cutter, takes a little bit of health down. Cherubi uses Grass Knot, I lost 4 HP, then recovered two from Leftovers. I use another Fury Cutter, Cherubi's almost down to half health. Cherubi used Safe Guard, and I recover back to full health with Leftovers. I use another Fury Cutter, Cherubi is close to red health. Cherubi uses another Grass Knot doing 4 damage, and I recover 2 again from Leftovers. I attempt at another Fury Cutter, but since my Grovyle was obtained through a trade, he decided to loaf around instead. Cherubi uses another Grass Knot. I'm at 46/49 HP. Grovyle uses Pursuit bringing Cherubi to 1 health. Cherubi follows up with a Growth boosting it's special attack. Gardenia decides to use a Super Potion. I'm getting annoyed, knowing I can easily take out Cherubi if Grovyle wasn't loafing around so much. Cherubi is at full health, as is my Grovyle. I attempt a Fury Cutter, but Grovyle loafs around, yet again. Cherubi used Grass Knot doing 7 damage, and I heal 2. Another attempt at Fury Cutter, but ended up missing. Cherubi uses Safe Guard. This battle is very annoying to me... Another attempt at Fury Cutter ended up loafing around... who could've thought of that?! Grovyle finally used a Fury Cutter in succession! Cherubi uses Growth, it's pumping up to kill me faster. Grovyle used Leech Seed, which doesn't effect it. Fury Cutter hit! Growth. Fury Cutter hit again! Grass Knot, does 18 damage from all of the Growths. Grovyle won't obey. I use super potion. Grass Knot critical hits. Super Potion again. Grovyle takes in sunlight hoping to KO Cherubi with a Solar Beam attack. It Grass Knots. I use Solar Beam, and... Cherubi faints! Grovyle grows to level 20. 39/51 Health. Gardenia sends out a Roserade. Roserade uses Magical Leaf, takes out 15 damage. I used Pursuit, but Grovyle disobeys and uses Fury Cutter. Seeing as it gains power, I attempt another Fury Cutter... which hits! Roserade uses Grass Knot. I'm at 19/51 health, she's at just over half health. Grovyle takes in sunlight for a powerful Solar Beam again. Roserade uses Magical Leaf doing 15 damage again. I hope to KO Roserade with Solar Beam as I did for Cherubi. And... I did about 10 damage... Roserade uses a Sitrus Berry and faints Grovyle with a Magical Leaf. I send out Meowth to fight. Roserade uses Stun Spore which doesn't help at all since I loaf around anyway, but Meowth uses a Bite attack in succession! Roserade uses Magical Leaf leaving me with 3/48 health. I use a Thunder attack attempting to weaken it so that Yanma can go in for the win. I let Roserade faint my Meowth to send out my Yanma. Yanma goes out. Roserade uses Grass Knot. I attempt Sonic Boom, but Yanma disobeys. Yanma hit a Sonic Boom. Roserade uses a Magical Leaf again. Gardenia uses super potion. Yanma hits another Sonic Boom leaving Roserade with above half health. It uses a Magical Leaf. Yanma wouldn't obey, Roserade Stun Spores her. I use a Paralyz Heal and follow up with a super potion losing close to no health from a few Grass Knots. Yanma uses a Quick Attack and Roserade is down to almost red health. I follow with a Sonic Boom and Roserade has 1 health left. Yanma begun to nap... Super Potion then Awakening for me! After a few turns of hp restoring and status restoring, I land a Quick Attack which kills it. Yanma level 22, learns Supersonic. Last Pokemon, Turtwig. It reflects, Yanma loafs around, but then I land a Supersonic, and it uses Grass Knot. I land a Sonic Boom, it snaps out of confusion and Grass Knots. I land a Quick Attack bringing it under half health, it uses Withdraw twice, while I loaf around, yet again, while it Grass Knots. I land another Supersonic, it Grass Knots. Yanma loafs around, Turtwig hurts itself. Yanma won't obey, Turtwig hurts itself. Yanma turned away, Turtwig hurts itself. Yanma turned away, it snaps out of confusion and uses Reflect. Yanma ignored orders and uses Double Team, Turtwig uses Withdraw. Yanma won't obey, Turtwig misses a Grass Knot. Yanma won't obey, Turtwig uses Withdraw. <-- Same thing. <-- Same again... <-- Same except I dodge a Razor Leaf. FINALLY I land a Sonic Boom ending the longest battle I have EVER experienced. I get to level 23, and get a new badge. Hope you had fun reading! (Yeah, right...) |
I'm in Hearthrome city. I just gave my two Drifloons, female Kumo-Kaze and male Drifter, a pleasent stroll in Amity Square. They picked up some nice stuff and filled up my Fashion Case. Then I went to Contest Hall, competed w/ my Kyogre in the beauty contest until I reached Ultra Rank. Then I stopped for a short break before walking my Psyduck in Amity Square and pickin' up a Green Scale, whatever that is.

Pokemon Pearl Journal
July 10, 2007
I'm still quite upset by my loss at the gym, but it also has fueled me to train harder. So off I went, training in the damp areas between Veilstone and Solaceon Town. Also, having Hoothoot on my team netted me a few Luxury Balls from the News Press. Glad that happened when it did, because it wasn't long after that that my training helped Hoothoot evolve into Noctowl! 69. Noctowl July 12, 2007 I'm way overdue for a rematch at the Veilstone Gym. I've trained hard with Misdreavus, Bronzor, Noctowl, Kadabra, and Golbat over the last few days. I've also been rethinking my strategy and approach. I dove in head first hoping that I could type-trump the gym leader's pokemon with flying and psychic type attacks; problem is, most of Maylene's pokemon are dual-type, with the secondary type making up for the weaknesses of the first type. Lucario's steel-type quality completely covers for its fighting-type weaknesses. I considered targeting that and coming at it with a ground- or fire-type attack, but I've trained too long with this team of pokemon that I wanted to let them have a chance. So, instead of thinking offense, I'm going to take a defensive approach this time. I'm going to use Golbat, since its got double resistance to fighting-type attacks. I'm also going to use Kadabra, because its Psybeam has become super powerful over the last few days. Bronzor and Noctowl worked hard last time, but if I'm going for a defensive approach, they're just too vulnerable to Maylene's pokemon. So, it's off to the gym for a re-match! July 12, 2007 - Postbattle Report So I challenged Maylene to a rematch. A 3-on-3 battle, no time limits, substitutions allowed. Use of up to 2 items permitted during the battle. The battle started quite familiarly with me sending out Misdreavus and Maylene sending out Meditite. I had Misdreavus start with Confuse Ray, which quite effectively confused Meditite. It couldn't even launch any attacks, it just kept hurting itself! It allowed Misdreavus to connect with two unanswered Astonish attacks. Maylene used one of her Hyper Potions to heal Meditite, but it was still confused. Misdreavus landed two more Astonish attacks, and Meditite was unable to battle! Misdreavus didn't even take a single hit! Maylene chose Machoke as her next pokemon. I returned Misdreavus to its pokeball for a well deserved rest. Kadabra, maximize! Time to show Maylene just how much our training paid off! First, I had Kadabra use Reflect, not so much for this round, but to protect my side from the physical attacks I knew Lucario would be launching later. Machoke used Rock Tomb, but its damaging effect was lessened due to Reflect, and Kadabra is so fast the decreased speed is irrelevant. Kadabra lined up for a single powerful Psybeam, more than enough to one-hit-KO a Machoke! Two down, one to go, and all three of my fighters at full strength. Maylene's Lucario was of course the final opponent. I left Kadabra in, figuring it could soften Lucario up for Golbat. I didn't think Kadabra would stand up well to Lucario's physical attacks. Lucario was faster than my Kadabra, so it landed a Drain Punch before I could make a move. Luckily Kadabra is resistant to fighting-type attacks, plus Reflect was still in place. Kadabra launched a Psybeam, which seemed to hurt Lucario more than I thought. Lucario came back with Metal Claw, which landed a hard hit on Kadabra. I pulled out its pokeball thinking it was finished. But Kadabra hung in there, although barely! It still had fight left! I really thought it would be knocked out from that. Kadabra gave it all it had, putting the last of its energy into one final Psybeam. And... Lucario is unable to battle!! Maylene has been defeated! I won a Cobble Badge! But wait? Kadabra is evolving! Looks like the intensity of the battle helped it evolve into Alakazam! 70. Alakazam |
I entered a tournament on Nintendo Play tonight and the rules were anything goes so I expected a few noobs with ubers. I battled some fool called Ashley123321 and she used a whole team of not just hacked but illegal moveset pokemon and I won but it was so annoying. I 5-0'd her lol. Anyways she had a Mewtwo with 999 health but I used Mizukage's special move to ruin that. Anyway, I am on my second battle now. I'll post as I get further.
Match 2: Well after an annoying start involving Ryazuma dying I brang out Masamune and managed to get in 6 calm minds maxing sp.atk and sp.def and a rest to go back to full HP and wake up with chesto berry. Winning so far, yet to see the 999 health Mewtwo (it got traded after my first battle in an attempt to beat me) but I am sure it'll be soon. His Lucario just got a crit with Extreme Speed and left Masamune with 29 health. If he is stupid enough to bring out a pokemon using a special attack I'll just rest the damage off and survive for two turns lol. Great I have been sat waiting for 5 minutes for him to send out a pokemon, I think he is stalling in an effort make me disconnect. Everyone in the tournament seems to be like a bunch of zombies or something, they all hack and seem to think I suck even though I am decimating them all so far. Well after 10 minutes of stalling out came the final pokemon which was the 999 HP Mewtwo. Masamune died and out came Mizukage, Mewtwo used Extreme Speed and focus sash left me with 1 HP, Mizukage used Endeavor. Mewtwo used Extreme speed and fainted Mizukage. I sent out Hyazura and Mewtwo was faster =/ it used Roar of time and KO'd Hyazura, I sent out Bushido and it was faster but had to recharge so I used Night Slash and won the battle. Waiting for my next battle atm, will edit again. I couldn't stand their stupidity after that match and left. |
I part EVed my Gallade.

Yet again with the amazing luck today. I decided to breed for a Sceptile as I remembered having a Grovyle which I stopped using during the emerald storyline lying around in the pc on well obviously emerald lol. Anyways before I stuck it in with a timid Ditto and everstone I figured I should ask the IV master at the frontier to see if it had good IVs (like above average etc) and I was shocked when he told me it was quite impressive and it had flawless sp.atk (I forgot to mention I wanted a special orientated Sceppy) and I kept asking him to see if it had any other flawless stats and I was crossing my fingers for speed. After 5 or so times of asking him he told me it had flawless speed! HURRAH! I had a Grovyle sitting around in the PC with flawless Sp.Atk/Speed that whole time and didn't know about it! I put it in with the timid Ditto and everstone and the first egg that hatched was a timid male Treeko with flawless Sp.Atk/Speed! I checked it's IVs and it has Hidden Power Ghost with 65 damage! I rare candied to level 97 and evolved to Sceptile of course, nick named it Yakashi and pal parked it. EV trained it, let it re-learn Leaf Storm, taught it Dragon Pulse, Hidden Power and Focus Blast and have it Choice Specs. I now have 20 pokemon in my team!
