Can someone help me fix up my deck ???
hey... well i have a problem... ive made my own deck, but i dont know if it will last in a game... this is a Type 2 deck... It's built around slivers and some artifacts. i think i added 1 too many colors (red, blue, and green)
HERE IT IS: Magma Sliver x1 Ancient Ooze x1 Quick Sliver x 4 Shifting Sliver x3 Root Sliver x1 Brood Sliver x1 Hunter Sliver x1 Seedborne Muse x1 Stifle x1 Long Term Plans x1 Faces of the Past x3 Scattershot x3 Lifespark Spellbomb x1 Pyrite Spellbomb x1 Sword of Light and Shadow x1 Surestrike Trident x1 Darksteel Ingot x1 Isochron Scepter x1 Darksteel Pendant x1 Land: Darksteel Citadel x1 Blinkmoth Nexus x1 Temple of the Falsegod x1 Island x7 Forest x6 Mountain x4 I plan on getting rid of some artifacts and adding regular mana like mountains, but fer some odd reason i cant find my extra lands :P Basicly i try to get my Slivers backed up and keep them alive till i get alot out and with magma sliver. |
i'd have 2 say add a mistform sliver or 4 and a peer pressure...peheps dominate and radiate...and get rid of Isochron

yes...but its only till end of turn...also, u could take their creatures with peer pressure
o...and get rid of stifle...whts that even dooin there neways? |
stifle's there in case someone has a creature that might destroy my magma sliver or brood sliver, if magma is gone im screwed
|
...I seriously hope u no which abilities stifle specifically targets
rulings on stifle...anyways...add more slivers, and watch out for spells that destroy creatures...wrath of god kills this deck easily...also Akroma's Vengeance...and Decree of Annihilation... |

it appears your trying to play only blue, green and red however you should play an all color deck for a sliver deck you'll want to make sliver queen your metagame |
Right now I recommend adding the smaller slivers into the mix (e.g. plated slivers) I'm seeing that it's a 5-colour deck to begin with. Sliver Queen is Extended, btw.
Anyway, you might want to build a faster offense that way and use the blue rare sliver with shifting sliver (e.g. draw a lot of cards). I don't remember whether there are any ways to counter wraths and wrath-like effects with slivers (I can only recall rotlungs for clerics and disciples for atifacts), so facing those will be a daunting task. I also suggest getting rid of the non-sliver, non-sliver pumping, non-mana accelerating cards. I mean, most sliver decks use those only anyway. lol |
yeh i thot about an all color deck but mana became a problem, i guess i could add my chrome mox, and on top of that i dont have a queen. and on account of this being type 2 i cant use a Stronghold set card... only Legions, Scourge, Mirrodin, Darksteel, onslught, and 8th edition i could add a sliver overlord if i make it an all color deck.
|
u forgot taht 5th dawn came out. There are some 5-colour stuff in there that you might find interesting. We've had...discussions on that. :P
Anyway, answering Blasty's Question: Seedborne Muse 3G Creature - Spirit You may untap your creatures during your opponent's untap phase. (forgot pow/tough) A great combo maker itself...:P |
might as well play extended otherwise IMO sliver decks are useless they can't do jack
|
Well extended sliver decks are way more powerful, I agree. Muscle Sliver and Crystaline Sliver both are too powerful...
|
Definately... and all my magic the gathering friends say slivers suck :P even though i kik their a$$es alot... yeh extended would make more sence, but not alot of ppl dont play it. im not saying everyone, but michigan isnt the greatest place for matches.... :( well i did forget fifth dawn, and i know what cards i'd like to put in it... muahahah, maybe Fist of Dawns and a Solarion for a backup incase of creature destruction.... not many ppl have decree of anihilation so i have to hope fer the best...
P.S. i get alot of info from the Scrye Magizine :) anyone else get that ... it's awesome :P |
oh yeah sideboard channel the suns
4 mana for a sliver queen that's wack |
First off im talking about type two not extended! and sliver queen already needs one of each mana to be summoned! and if i do wanna play extended then ill create a different kind of sidedeck that makes it extended... anywho fist of sons would be for another high cost card :P
|
dude channel the sun is type 2
besides i think you should go casual |
Maybe i should go cashual... but im trying to get into a few competitions... nothing big, but also i dont have sliver queen or solarion ... yet :P and there arent many ppl who play magic in michigan
here's my deck now : Magma Sliver x1 Ancient Ooze x1 Quick Sliver x 4 Shifting Sliver x3 Root Sliver x1 Brood Sliver x1 Hunter Sliver x1 Ward Sliver x3 Seedborne Muse x1 Faces of the Past x3 Sword of Light and Shadow x1 Surestrike Trident x1 Darksteel Ingot x1 Darksteel Pendant x1 Land: Darksteel Citadel x1 Blinkmoth Nexus x1 Temple of the Falsegod x1 Island x5 Mountain x5 Forest x5 Plain x5 Swamp x5 its still only 48 though and when i get more mistforms ill add 3 or 4 |
Just telling you, Solarion is more of a card for ppl to build around rather than just putting it down on the field (30000+/30000+ on turn 8 anyone?). So I think you should have more on the slivers part. If you can get your hands on the muscle slivers...THEY are key.
btw, slivers did make it into tourneys back when tempest was in T2, muscle slivers and crystalline slivers were so cheap for their buck that tourney-worthy slivers decks were there...scary I know. lol |
Quote:
All Slivers get +1+1 1/1 Well i think magma is key! all slivers have "tap: target sliver gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where x is the number of slivers in play." if i get alot of slivers out, i can take care of my opponents life points with a total of 5 slivers (magma, shifting, and any 3 others) and my ancient ooze is there if i cant block because of my pesky ward slivers :) |
See, the difference is that the muscles cost essentially 3 less and is tourney style whereas magma sliver is Timmy. lol
It's still good without them, I just recommend the muscles, that's all. |
ok you talked me into it ill play casual games :P yeh ok well i can play, but i cant "talk". whats Timmy and all that mean in MTG? i am never too good on phrases and whatnot... :P
|
Timmy = the big guys. Big effects, big creatures, big cost for them. Examples of timmy cards are BFM or any creature with power/toughness of over 5/5. Newest addition to that is door to nothingness.
Johnny = combo cards. Things that make combos. e.g. intruder alarm Spike = the tourney stuff. You know ravager, black lotus (any of the power 9, for that matter), entomb, etc. ... SKULLCLAMP! lol These are the 3 types of magic players/cards that you'll run into. Almost all cards have one of these categories (with the bare exceptions of stuff like eagar cadet...lol). |
actually door to nothingness is more of a spike or johnny cards
|
You know the door will NEVER see tourney play. lol
besides, it's probably some insane 15-mana combo that's gonna power the door to begin with. |
lol
i've thought of something nice i mean composites + channel the suns you can win the game with like 8 mana |
