I believe this is in the wrong forum. this is a forum for R/B/Y/G/S/C

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ October 24th, 2007 2:04 PM

umm Blaziken is out for me, anyways I'll go with Swampert even though Sceptile can knock it out with one attack unless Swampy has a Focus Band

:t354:TG

Azonic October 24th, 2007 5:12 PM

Swampert has excellent tanking stats and has only one weakness - which is a pretty uncommon type. I say swampert.

Ayano Katagiri October 26th, 2007 1:48 AM

Swampert and Blaziken. Blaziken was decent enough in 3rd gen, but Swampert was just plain awesome in wiping a lot of things out. Especially E4 IIRC.

Milke October 26th, 2007 8:10 AM

Swampert definately. He crushes big time!!

Sceptile and blaziken are fast, but are both dead if Swampert has a focus band.

Lathspell October 26th, 2007 8:41 AM

Heh, swampert can finish the game all by itself if played well. Blaziken is crap and Sceptile is good, but only sometimes. Swampert may have problems vs sceptile but just use something else to kill it and keep swampert for almost anything else.

Swampert, but I like Blazekin better. ^_^

Cool Swampert October 26th, 2007 5:12 PM

hell yeah swampert rulez =)

Gamewhale October 26th, 2007 9:56 PM

Blaziken. He can easily take out Sidney and Phoebe.

Cool Swampert October 27th, 2007 7:23 AM

.................. only sidney wit blazekin

Milke October 27th, 2007 9:07 AM

Blaziken is easier to defeat elite foru if you have kyogre..do you?

.Eevee-Chan October 27th, 2007 9:20 AM

I like Blaziken and Swampert. Kinda hard to choose between them.

Cool Swampert October 27th, 2007 4:42 PM

i say swampert because its my favorite pokemon

Houndoom666 October 29th, 2007 3:12 PM

Swampert for me. cuz he's ground type too and I can whoop Sceptile before he uses a grass move.

Destinykid October 31st, 2007 6:35 AM

I'd vote for Swampert because it has the least weakness out of the 3.

Dogar The Brave October 31st, 2007 10:43 AM

swampy

swampert,... reason? check out serebii.net

thomascallaghan October 31st, 2007 10:58 AM

i love blaziken but i have to say swampert probly better but blazeken is too cool

Rainfall October 31st, 2007 11:55 AM

Definately Swampert. I would state my reasons, but it would seem that they have all already been said above. :/ But Swampert, in my opinion, would be the best option for the Hoenn League.

thomascallaghan October 31st, 2007 12:08 PM

why dus evryone say swampert

Houndoom666 October 31st, 2007 1:43 PM

Because Swampert is the obvious choice. Treeko or Torchic dont look better than Mudkip. So like FR and LG most people would pick Charmander.

No, Charizard is a powerhouse, although Rock moves can be fatal. It also learns Ghost moves, Dragon, Fire, and Steel. Obvious choice.

Gulpin November 16th, 2007 3:02 PM

I'd pick Swampert because of it's awesome type combo. but I chose Torchic at the start. {Torchic=Happiness=Torchi}

Noisuf Ekop 993 November 19th, 2007 6:18 AM

You can beat the entire game without catching any pokemon if you play with a well trained Swampert.Definitly Swampert.

Cool Swampert December 9th, 2007 2:58 PM

HELL YEA SWAMPERT RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA

Skaterzpenguin December 9th, 2007 3:35 PM

You should of made a poll.

Swampert is the best one!

GetASnover! December 10th, 2007 7:32 PM

Hmmm... I think Sceptile and Swampert because Blaziken is only good at atk and sp atk, Sceptile is good at Speed, atk, sp atk, sp defense and Swampert is good at every thing except Speed.

Shadowthinker December 11th, 2007 1:28 AM

Sceptile is better against the champion.Swampert is consistent in the league.Blaziken is good against a few and bad against a few.So pick your choice.

lightdash December 11th, 2007 1:53 AM

Blaziken just sweeps almost everything with its balance of Sp. Atk and Atk. The only time it will have problems is with Drake and Wallace. It's weak to flying attacks, ground, and water so if you can't OHKO the Pokemon, better have back-ups just in case.

Golden Arceus December 11th, 2007 2:08 PM

I had issues getting thru E4 with Blaziken the first time.. but I wiped the floor with them using Swampert afterwards.. I recommend it..

Atomic Torkoal December 12th, 2007 2:13 PM

Sceptile:
Bad against:Glacia, Drake, Steven
Good Against:Wallace, Steven(Somewhat)

Blaziken:
Bad against: Phoebe, Glacia, Wallace, Steven, Drake
Good Against:Sidney, Steven

Swampert:
Bad against:Drake(If you try to use Earthquake, but Ice Beam is 4x effective on most of Drake's critters.)
Good Against:Drake(See above), Steven, Glacia and Wallace(To an Extent)

Swampert wins. Plus, it's an awesome tank, but the E4's so patheticly easy that it can win as an attacker. =>

Heart's Soul December 16th, 2007 9:03 AM

Humph, Blaziken is SUPERIOR!

I beat the entire game by using Blaziken! ONLY Blaziken. It's too easy, Swampert is ugly and weak, although he has ONE type weakness, and Sceptile, he's just a Grass type. I also like Blaziken's cry.

Swampert might be ugly, but weak? I don't think so. Sceptile's typing has nothing to do with how well it can annoy people with subseeding. Ingame opponents suck anyways, including the weak 4.

Ironically, Blaziken is the worst since it has low speed and can't take a hit.

Depends on the fan. Sceptile was weak both in the anime and the games. Fire-types rule! But it does depend on the game. Charizard, Meganium, Blaziken, Empoleon... Yep, it's the game. Everyone has their own decisions, why'd they make this. People just kill each other [AGELIMIT]*punches Golden Arceus, he starts bleeding*[/AGELIMIT] anyway.

Anti December 16th, 2007 10:45 AM

Stop saying sceptile is weak when it is in no way, shape, or form weak. Fire types might be cool, but weaknesses to water, rock, and worst of all ground moves weaken them terribly. Who you choose depends on personal preference, but it's been provwen swampert and sceptile see more use and are often far more effective than blaziken.

ElliottKaito December 16th, 2007 11:00 AM

SWAMPERT!!!!!
SWAMPERT!!!!!
SWAMPERT!!!!!
SWAMPERT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isaac Gravity December 16th, 2007 8:41 PM

It depends on the player really. In game, if raised (level wise) high enough most/any Pokemon can tackle the in-game trainers (just gets trickier along the way, the E4 aren't THAT easy... especially if you don't know what you're up against).

Sceptile is cool but not my style, Swampert, though a powerhouse because of its dual type and movepool, it's the easy way and I'm not too fond of it all that much. I went with Blaziken since I liked its design and its stats make it a something of a high gamble glass canon that can rock on many levels if you know what you're doing and I like that play style (it'd be lame to have one overpowering guy wrecking havoc isn't very fun).

That and I have a thing for Pokes who can mix things up (referring to Blaziken's Att and Sp. Att stats)

That's sorta why I don't get Atomic Torkoal's list... Blaziken can fair its own, if not one man Phoebe with Flamethrower in tow with only the Dusclops with EQ probably catching you off guard and either forcing a switch or a heal if your guy isn't strong enough. You can easily have Blaziken dispose of Glacia's two Glalie in a one hit sure kill with that same move leaving your electric type to do the rest.

The other guys I got no argument about.

EDIT: No, I don't like Charizard and don't see Charmander as the ideal choice. (This refers to the talk earlier in the thread)

I vote Blaziken! ^^....He looks more powerful..

Lyra. December 21st, 2007 7:23 AM

Blaziken all the way! it's helped me out a lot!

Heart's Soul December 21st, 2007 9:37 AM

Again, Blaziken helps out!

Cool Swampert January 1st, 2008 10:34 AM

blazekin sucks man.... swampert rulez in all types of starters... swampert beats blazekin in one hit kill with earthquake, water gun witout even tryin to win wit surf soooooo SWAMPERT KICKS ASSS

swampert will even beat sceptile if it was faster than sceptile... but it can still kick blazekin asses into a chicken soup lol

dabest1234 January 1st, 2008 10:48 AM

Blaziken FTW!

beat the whole game with it :P
did catch some others as helping to use revive on Blaziken again :P
my 2nd highest level was lvl30 or so, lol

Cool Swampert January 1st, 2008 10:50 AM

i beat the whole game wit swampert.. never had to use revive on him but once... he even beats all the grass types like a flick of the wrist

Emo Kid Cloudé January 1st, 2008 10:51 AM

They're all great. I prefer Sceptile, but Swampert is probably the best choice.

Yeah, but either way, I highly doubt you'll use any of the starters in your competitive team. So, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what starter you use, get them to a high level and either of the three can sweep the Elite Four tbh.

Unless it's swampert or Sceptile, who are actually useful and you can breed for good IVs.

Seriously, Swampert can't take grass types since most are faster than it and threaten a OHKO. not to mention HP Grass Mence which is just nasty to it.

Blaziken sucks competitiely, just to get that out there. It might look cool, I can understand why so many love it, but it isn't good...

Sceptile iws cool and all, nice subseeder, cool pokemon in general.

Swampert is the best starter ever (Infernape gives it a run for its money, but this is before D/P). Amazing defensive typing, nice Atk and SAtk, 100 base HP is nice.

BTW, beating the game is no accomplishment...

I'm not so sure about that but Swampert is definitely the pokemon with the fewest weakness. Blaziken was fine for me (I wiped out the entire elite 4 with only a Blaziken and got 18 ribbons for him) but Blaziken is a wimp compared to Swampert.

Cool Swampert January 2nd, 2008 9:50 AM

so swampert wins the vote.....YAY XD

Lycoris January 2nd, 2008 10:23 AM

I used Swampert the first time, but Rayquaza did the most work so..I am going to say Sceptile. It actually is good for fighting, not one hit ko's, for me at least.

Cool Swampert January 2nd, 2008 12:51 PM

ok where r my swampert fans at? can i get a wooot woot

marxj January 31st, 2008 12:59 PM

Swampert cuz I have always chosen Mudkip (so far) as my starter cuz he's one of favorite Hoenn Pokemon ^^.

However because I have only chosen Mudkip so far I cannot really rule an opinion about the other two.

ultimatelegend5 February 1st, 2008 4:27 AM

Blazeikin is fast, but Swampert is great. It hits high and has great def. Since it is water/ ground it is immune to electric which is awesome, and it can learn earthquake and surf.
