A creation of my own: Choice Band Forretress!

CBTress:
Forretress @Choice Band
Brave
252 Attack, the rest fior HP and SP.Def
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Pin Missile/Explosion

Stratagie:
This set really works with Trick Room Teams. With base 95 Attack and bad speed, Gyro Ball Kills when timed right. Rock Quake covers alot, and Pin Missile is for Secondary STAB and Breaking Subs. A STABed Pin Missile that hits 5 times does more damage than a non-STABed Earthquake. Explosion kills things dead. Period.

Other Options:
Payback(w/o Trick Room in Play) Revenge.

Payback and Revenge are for those who are willing to get pummeled a little. Not Really recommended.

I created this set back in the 3rd Gen, only Forry had Hidden Power on its side back then. Basically, it's SOOO unpridictable that it's hilarious. Under the right circumstances, CBTress CAN work.

that sounds genius and retarded at the same time. congratulations.

(although messed up, I could actually see this working in some occasions)

Arcknight316 October 30th, 2007 6:26 PM

hey i never thought of that! wait, if trick room is in play, does gyro ball on slow pokes still do heavy dmg?

BrainDamage October 30th, 2007 6:29 PM

I believe it does, because it doesnt physically change the speed stat. I think its similar to the way iron ball and quick claw work.

Nacon October 30th, 2007 6:30 PM

hmmmm....... if you can record that on video... lemme know... I'd love to see it in action..

Gyro Ball's strength is not hampered by Trick Room. As mentioned above, Trick Room doesn't affect the Speed stat of the Pokemon.

Forretress @Life Orb
Nature Brave
EV: 252 Attack, 252 HP
-Gyro Ball
-Earthquake
-Spikes/Stealth Rock
-Explosion

Fortress has too many options in a Trick Room area. It's best if you use them in a Life Orb sweeping sense.

I'd only ever use Choice Band on Forretress within a Choice Item-themes team. I've seen Claydol done this way, although Donphan tends to pull it off more effectively. But no matter what you're using, even with a Choice Band, one of Forrestress' primary roles in a team is to Rapid Spin. And many times with a Choice Pokemon, you'll be forced to switch the next turn anyway, allowing you a free Rapid Spin with no guilt of having to switch out.

Forrestress @ Choice Band
Brave Nature
EVs: 252 Attack, 136 Defense, 122 SpDefense
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin

It sucks not having a decent STAB Bug move, as stuff like Claydol and Celebi will wall this to no extent. And Skarmory is your worst nightmare. But only Skarmory doesn't fear a Choice Band Explosion. So that may keep your opponent's at bay.
