Lawl RMT v2.0

So after a bit of testing on Shoddy Battle, I came up with this team after doing a bit of mix-n-matching off of my old team. It's served me well so far.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/474.gif
Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse

A powerful lead, but is outsped more often than I care for. I think I may move him back, but I'm not sure who else to lead with.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/149.gif
Dragonite @ Yache Berry
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 58 HP/212 Atk/240 Spd
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

He's powerful, but it's difficult to get him going. Frankly, he does the least on my team, so I think I'll take him out.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/214.gif
Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Guts
EVs: 104 HP/252 Atk/152 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Megahorn
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit

Pursuit is hilarious. That is all.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/477.gif
Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/78 Def/180 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunderpunch
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-o-wisp
- Pain Split

Shadow Sneak, Will o Wisp, and Pain Split are all very fun moves to use. Pain Split especially hurts on the switch. Switching in on Focus Punches and Explosions is also very entertaining.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/464.gif
Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Avalanche
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

A very powerful tank. Earthquake and Avalanche offer good coverage, and Avalanche doesn't have the accuracy issues of Stone Edge. Roar for PHazing support, and Stealth Rock for kicks.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Pokeyman/205.gif
Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/162 Atk/96 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion

This guy is just fun to use. Gyro Ball is a good attack and STAB for him, and Explosion is always fun. :)

Well, that's the team. Any comments/ suggestions?

Scarfed PoryZ outspeeded? I can only think of that being possible against ScarfChomp and Jolly CS Medicham...
But this set is fine. If you want to use something else to start up with, that'd probably be better.

Are you sure you wouldn't want more Speed to outpace things with 120+ Base Speed? Just as long as people don't suspect those EVs, then you're okay there.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers

I kind of like my Dusknoirs with Focus Punch for some odd reason.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers

EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def

- Avalanche
- Stealth Rock

Watch out for flying bed mattresses.

Okay.

I can't think of anything that completely destructs this team, but it looks pretty good to me.

On Porygon: I've been outrun by a Garchomp or two, although the first Chomp that outran me had max Spd + Scarf. Z was also outsped by a Staraptor earlier. :P

On Dragonite: Is there anyone you'd suggest to take his place?

On Heracross: The EVs were pretty much copypasta'd from Smogon. I'm still a newb, so I'm not sure which EVs to put where. Would you suggest maxing out Speed?

On Rhyperior: I don't get the joke...

Eos Aduro November 1st, 2007 5:04 PM

Me either, but whatever. Dragonite out for Weavile then, dragon slayer extreme.

Iceman3k November 1st, 2007 5:33 PM

PoryZ probably doesn't have a high Speed IV if it was outran by Staraptor. But I guess you can't really breed over. And I'm assuming the stuff you were outran by is Adamant Natured (Jolly w/Scarf on over 80 Base Speed is just crazy lol)

Dragonite... possibly replace that with Gyarados. Him and Rhyperior have a nice joint combo.

Gyarados @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 168 HP / 164 Atk / 176 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt / Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang / Stone Edge
I know that some people run with more defensives sets, but sometimes, the offensive fashion can work as well. It accomplishes what Dragonite does, this time without the other Dragon Sweeper paranoia.

Heracross, I like mine with Max Speed. It reaches 403 Speed, which outruns 130 Base Speeders. Pretty handy if I say so myself. Since Heracross is attacking anyway, I run the 252 Spread. If you want HP, then probably enough EVs for 255 Speed and 374 Attack.
92 HP / 216 Atk / 200 Spd is what I came up with. Assuming it's 31 IVs in all 3 areas, you get 323 HP, 374 Atk, and 256 Speed to begin with.

Nothing's wrong with Rhyperior, just a little humor thrown in ;)
(Got it from an episode of Ed, Edd, and Eddy some years back)

airconditioning November 1st, 2007 5:44 PM

Like I said, this was in Shoddy Battle, I had 31 IVs across the board. :P The Staraptor was probably Adamant+Scarf, as base 100 Speed is still pretty darn fast with a Scarf.

I think I might replace Dragonite with either Weavile or that Gyarados set. I'll try Weavile out first.

Also, I used to watch Ed^3 when I was a kid. I'm ashamed I didn't get that joke (and still don't).

Your Heracross is much better than the one in the compiled guides imho. I like it a lot.

Battle with it for a bit and if it doesn't outrun stuff you think it'll be able to outrun if you give it 252 speed EVs then you can always feed it berries and retrain. Also if your surviving a lot with 4 hp then don't transfer the EVs to speed :)

This is the third time I've said this, but this is a Shoddy Battle team right now, and I can change EVs at will. I actually haven't bred a Heracross ingame yet. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Image%20Macros/yelwacko.gif

Ya I heard you, but your going to need to play a lot of games with the same EVs to get enough data to have an idea I'd guess. And this team will be over wifi by then.

Anyways enough nitpicking. Maybe replace dragonite with Yanmega, Blissey. I dunno >_>

Shiraishi November 1st, 2007 6:29 PM

I think the Heracross in compiled guides was for 3rd gen :/ Beware of Gengar.

The compiled guidea one is 3rd gen...and that is actually a great set :/ I actually belive it's the best. Only a couple pokemon can truly counter CBcross.

You might consider giving him Sleep Talk instead of Pursuit, it's pretty neat: Absorb sleep and strike them with x1.5 power and x1.5 speed when they least expect it.

any CBcross without sleep talk is a sad CBcross IMO. Focus punch is neat and all, but if you hate skarm so much, pick up a CB rhydon with focus punch...ooh, 4th gen...rhyinferior then.

but yeah...pursuit is cool and all, I actually would use both, but OMG OMG I need stone edge. EVIL.

Who talked about Focus Punch? =\
And the Heracross in his team is Scarfed, not Choice Banded.

Focus punch was common on CBcross in 3rd gen. 3rd gen strategy works great in D/P if you moify t a bit...since 3rd gen uses far more strategy, but I won't get into that...

scarfcross can make use of the same moves CBcross can. I actually prefer CBcross because I like power, but it (scarfxcross with sleep talk) sure lols at gengar.

Eos Aduro November 1st, 2007 7:36 PM

Yes, but pretty much JUST Gengar unfrotuneatly, sleep talk without rest is pretty useless.

Not so fast my friend [3rd gen story]I used CBcross with sleep talk...still do occasionally. Spore from breloom, hypnosis from gardy and gengar of course, yeah, sleep talk is pwnage. Milotic, crobat...all these sleep inducers just totally meet their doom. I've destroyed even physical walls with a CBed, STABed sleep talk megahorn...did I mention it is guts boosted?[/3rd gen story]

Syaoran November 1st, 2007 7:40 PM

It really isn't =\

As a banded poke you're only going to use 1 attack most likely and then switch out, so it's good for surprise and absorbing status (using Rest doesn't count as sleep clause).

Was that toward my post or the chatot pirate's?

Anyhow, as mentioned, heracross can make very good use of sleep talk...actually even more so in 4th gen.
