Ninetales annoyer

I want an annoyer/special sweeping ninetales. here's what i have:

Ninetales @ charcoal
timid
252 speed, 252 special attack, 4 hp
flamethrower
nasty plot
confuse ray
will-o-wisp

Thanks

Arsibiyez November 2nd, 2007 5:26 AM

Not exactly an annoyer if your only annoyer move is Confuse Ray. Also, this is easily owned by any Fire-type with Earthquake or Rock Slide (Torkoal, Camerupt, esecially Magcargo).

Annoyer Ninetails would be:

Ninetails @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
Bold Nature
- Flamethrower
- Grudge / Spite
- Hypnosis
- Confuse Ray

Not really impressive, huh? Now try the Special Sweeper set.

Ninetails @ Leftovers / Wide Lens
Trait: Flash Fire
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Hypnosis

Not as good coverage as we would hope for, but good enough since it covers all his weaknesses. With enough Nasty Plotting, either attack would be painful anyway. Observe maximum SAtk EVs and whether you want to add a bit to HP or Def or maximize Spd as well is completely up to you.

EDIT: Wide Lens would help you put your enemies to sleep since Hypnosis still has that somewhat unreliable accuracy.

Lunux November 2nd, 2007 5:53 AM

Thanks! I'm gonna go with the special sweeping one and that means i can most likely boot my Leafeon that i don't have a good moveset for. What would be a physical grass type wall with decent movesets and good attacking power?

Arsibiyez November 2nd, 2007 6:49 AM

LEAFEON is the good Grass-type Physical Wall with decent moves and GREAT attacking power that you're looking for. Not to mention its nice Spd, high enough to do a bit of sweeping itself.

Leafeon @ Leftovers
Trait: Leaf Guard
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Return / Aerial Ace
- Bite / Sunny Day
- X-Scissor

I know Sunny Day looks like a must-have move for Leafeon since it has Leaf Guard, but boosting the damage of Fire-type Attacks puts you at a huge disadvantage. Aerial Ace is for other Grass types and Bug-types that may try to go against you. It's sad that Leafeon can't learn any Rock- or Ground-type attacks besides Dig, which is a terrible move to have on ANY Pokemon. X-scissor is strong. 'Nuff said.

Iceman3k November 2nd, 2007 7:52 AM

Timid Nature always on Ninetales, okay
And Leafeon, you'd have a better chance running with this:

Leafeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- X-Scissor
- Baton Pass
EVs might be out of whack, but I'm too lazy to open up the EV calc.

Dark Azelf November 2nd, 2007 8:57 AM

You can try double status

[email protected]
nature: Timid
evs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SpAtk
- Will-o-Wisp
- Hypnosis
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball

Not as offensively threatening as the previous special sweeping set, but very useful nonetheless. Sleep an opponent and hit physical attackers with a burn

Nacon November 2nd, 2007 10:59 AM

BUT NEVER NEVER NEVER try to put a BRN to SLP..... you'll feel embarrassed...

lol wut

That didn't make sense at all. If you mean, don't put a burned pokemon to sleep, you are jkssing the point. sleep clause allows you to put only one pokemon to sleep with hypnosis. Since they'll switch so you can't use it, use WoW to burn the incoming pokemon...that's kinda the idea.

Samson November 2nd, 2007 12:25 PM

ooh ooh i know i know!

Ninetales @ Wide Lens
Timid Nature
Ability: Flash Fire
252 SPD/252 SP ATK/4 HP
-Fire Blast
-Hypnosis
-Will-o-Wisp
-Substitute/Sunny Day

i know what you're thinking... sunny day? it's an option so that you can set a bulky water to sleep, use sunny day, and start blasting away w/ double STAB. fire blast becomes 180 base power w/ just STAB, then becomes 270 w/ Flash Fire, and then becomes 405 base power w/ STAB + Flash Fire + Sunny Day.

Two attacks of the same type on the same pokemon is fail.
Hyper beam is fail.
Hax items are fail.

Perhaps learn a bit more before posting advise again? With all due respect, your set was horrid.

No offense? that set DEFINES offense. Of course, the offense itself is of low power at best, but that made no sense :/

I was simply saying that if you don't have good advise to give, it's not a good idea to give it. I also am amused by the fact that you just flamed me after accusing me of flaming.

And while I'm making an honest effort not to bite the falme, you have NO right to speak of my family in that manner.

lol reported lol

As for ninetales, confuse ray isn't the best of moves. It is a nice way to force an occasional switch. I like smson's set, as all that mock double-powder madness is great.

If you don't like the idea, nasty plot sweeper is pretty win.

Which helps almost all its moves. Quite a nice use of items there :)

leaf blade/razor leaf(for doubles)
grasswhistle
sunny day
x-scissor

Samson November 3rd, 2007 11:15 AM

Leafeon @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
252 HP/196 DEF/60 ATK
-Leaf Blade
-Substitute
-Baton Pass/Wish
-Roar/Yawn/Protect

Dunsparce November 3rd, 2007 11:42 AM
