The Wave November 5th, 2007 9:03 AM

can you help me with this eevee themed team?

yeah I'm busy with a eevee theme team, a team with only eeveelutions. I did this a long time, and I planned to continue this. I do this because I love eevee and his evolutions. well my eeveelution team is:

Spoiler:
[email protected]
nature: modest
EV: 252hp/252spatk/4spd
move 1: baton pass
move 2: Hidden Power Fighting/shadow ball (depends on breed)
move 3: Fake Tears
move 4: Ice Beam

Fake tears to lower the defens of the opponent. Then sweep. Evantual baton pass the stat-ups that glaceon got from the other eeveelutions.

[email protected] Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Defense / 80 SDefense
move 1: Curse
move 2: Payback
move 3: Baton Pass
move 4: Mean Look

Mean look to prevent escaping a target. Then curse to bring up stats, then pay back. BP if an another pokemon is needed for sweeping or to BP the stats.

[email protected] Sash/Petyta Berry(leader)
Nature: Timid
EV: 4HP/252SpAtk/252Spd
move 1: Charge Beam
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Agility

First substitute to absorb the attacks of the enemy. Then agility to bring up speed while substitute is in effect. Then sweep with shadow ball and charge beam. Use subsitute again if jolteon isn't on low health.

[email protected]
nature: timid
EV: 196hp/28def/92spdef/192spd survives jolly CB pursuit weavile / 132hp/72spatk/112spdef/192spd survives ttar (which is better?)
move 1: baton pass
move 2: Calm Mind
move 3: Grass Knot / Hidden Power Fighting (depends on breed)
move 4: Psychic

Calm mind to bring up the stats. Then use grass knot/HP fight and/or psychic if useable. If not, baton pass the stats-up to an another pokemon.

[email protected]
nature:bold
EV: 188hp/252def/68spatk
move 1: Wish
move 2: Surf
move 3: ice beam
move 4: acid armor

Use acid armor to bring up the stats. Then use ice beam and surf to kill the opponent. Use wish to heal a pokemon if I want to sacrifice vapereon.

[email protected] Sash
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252hp/200Atk/56Spd
move 1: Leaf Blade
move 2: Quick Attack
move 3: Aerial Ace
move 4: Swords Dance/X-scissor (which is better?)

If it have sword dance, use it to bring up the stats. Whatever he have sword dance or not, then use leaf blade, aerial ace and x-scissor (if he have it) to sweep the enemy. Use quik attack if the enemy is faster and need to be killed fast.

you see that I have some problems with choosing between some things. and other than that, are there corrections I need to do? a lot thanks in advantage!

sims796 November 5th, 2007 9:21 AM

Well, Yawn is an option on Leafeon. You can keep Roar, but it is an option.

The Wave November 5th, 2007 9:38 AM

well, I see to roar away heavily damaged or hard pokemons away, so that I can beat the weak ones later, and be stronger to finish the hard ones later.

El Gofre November 5th, 2007 11:13 AM

ive always wanted to do this sorta team, this is a cool set :)
not sure about sub and wish on jolteon, but thats just me. i mite be wrong but i cant see too many opportunities to use them

The Wave November 5th, 2007 11:26 AM

not to offend anyone, but it seems people don't know why I have certain moves... I edit the first post by adding why I have the moves of every pokemon. hope that that helps.

sims796 November 5th, 2007 11:42 AM

No no no dang it. I know why you have Roar, but Yawn is an option.

The biggest problem with this (& most Eeveelution teams) is that there is no one who has a top priority for giving outright damage. Who are you planning on leading with, Jolteon? (For quick Sub)

Anti November 5th, 2007 12:51 PM

Yeah, nothing can give out damage. Seeing as this has to be played in OUs...heracross is instant death. It murders umbreon and even leafeon with megahorn, and close combat destroys glaceon easily. Nothing stops blissey at all, which is a big problem. Sure, Vappt annoys it, but seriously, once it's gone, you'll be outstalled and overpowered by more powerful pokemon. Really, many CBers ravage this team. But since it's an eevee team, what really can you do?

I better use roar since most players use the sleep clause rule. and even then, when someone use yawn, the affected pokemon ALWAYS switch to prevent the sleep going in effect. and yes, my jolteon is the leader, hence the "leader" next to the name.

it's just a theme team, calm down, I don't want to be it perfect, just that it's good enough for a good battle. and I tested this team multiply times on shoddy, and there I beated several heracrosses with glaceon and espeon, it's just the matter of staying calm and do the right things at the right moment. yes, a blissey is a big problem, but like I said, this is just a theme team.

It's more commonly refered to as a lead. Also, you predict the pokemon that's gonna switch in. Even if they avoid sleep, yawn is great for setting up sweepers.

But if you have a bliss problem, there is no way it's ready for battle ;/ You still don't have a heracross counter, since, espeon is pwnt by megahorn and the others also can't really withstand its attacks.

And for the record, I only get worked up when I don't have background music, and I have queen on right now...

still, the sleep clause will give problems when one pokemon is sleeping.

like I said, I beated several heracrosses. it's just the matter of the right thing on the right moment. anyway, as far as I've seen anywhere, there was no theme team that could beat a blissey, with the exception of field effect theme teams. but like I said, it doesn't have to be perfect, just if it's good enough for a good battle.

First of all, it's "beat." Like I said, it still isn't good enough for a battle. You need some form of a blissey counter. Since none of the eeveelutions are any good at physical attacking (as flareon fails), you shoukld use a resttalker set with espeon to outstall it. Or something along those lines.

I don't care how many heracrosses you've beaten. If the user uses it properly, heracross can predict a switch-in (like espeon) and lol at it with a choice scarf megahorn, or even stone edge. How a heracross lost to a glaceon is beyond me.

Since this is a theme team, you're gonna have to do the best with what you have. That means modifying tyhe movesets to beat as many OU threats as you can. By beat I mean counter, not "with really good prediction it works," since those assumptions send your team to its grave.

EDIT: Yawn is still worth using :/ People use hypnosis, don't they?

beat? it happened in the past so isn't it beated? could be wrong, I'm not so good at such things. yeah a flareon sucks, I heard that a lot. well I'll look something like a espeon resttalker, maybe there's something useful.

yeah, I've met that several times, and I obsessed those moves, so that way I try to prevent to do such things. that way I beat heracross pretty much.

explain the counter part, I don't get it completely. also explain why yawn is useful, I still don't see why.

Anti November 5th, 2007 1:44 PM

Yawn either:

-puts the opponent to sleep

-or-

-makes them switch, and with some easy prediction, gives you mismatches. Yawn = total win.

Counters are pokemon that can switch in to the pokemon they are countering and then would have a very good chance at winning if both pokemon stayed in. for example:

Jolteon can OHKO Gyarados with Tbolt, but it isn't a gyarados counter since gyarados OHKOs it on the switch with earthquake. Swampert is a TTar counter, since it can roar away DDs, withstand most of its attacks well, and hammer it with damage.

Faceless* November 5th, 2007 1:55 PM

- Don't use Fake Tears

- Lol, Baton Pass on Glaceon?

- Umbreon does not know how to attack

- Thunderbolt AND no Fake Tears on Jolteon. Shadow Ball

- Leftovers on Espeon = Suicide

- No Baton Pass on Vaporeon, use Ice Beam

- Leafeon?

Focus Sash Infernape obliterates this team

Anti November 5th, 2007 1:57 PM

It seems your only defences to all these pokemon is Vappy, and that won't last, lemme tell ya. Basically, this team is kinda outmatched. Better hope it isn't focus sash infernape I guess. I guess wish support kinda helps the cause, but still.

sims796 November 5th, 2007 2:29 PM

Ok, we know this is a theme team, but no one is getting worked up. We are simply disagreeing, and stating weaknesses. Just because we disagree doesn't mean we are getting worked up. Don't be snippy.

Second, Yawn is an option, with Roar. They are both viable options.

Glaceon & Jolteon has a chance of attacking offensivley. Umbreon ain't scaring anyone with Pursuit (or Payback, whichever you have up there), even if it is Taunted, it isn't fighting back with Payback, or Pursuit, or whatever.
The only way this team thrives is via Stat-Passing chain. Not good enough. Infernape, Heracross, & Gyarados, (to an extent) ruins this.

One of these must be a straight up attacker.

MegaDitto November 5th, 2007 4:36 PM

Besides Payback......How much will Swords Dance help?

[email protected] Focus Sash
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252hp/ 200 Atk/ 56 Spd
-Leaf Blade
-Quick Attack
-Aerial Ace
-Swords Dance/ X-scissor

Let's let Leafeon be the offensive one...^^;

If Jolteon is going to be the lead...then it

[email protected] Sash/Petyta Berry
Nature: Timid
EV: 4HP/252 Sp Atk /252 Spd
-Charge Beam
-Shadow Ball
-Substitute
-Agility

Jolteon is a powerful pokemon as a lead. So much can be done with it...

Anti November 5th, 2007 7:12 PM

that leafeon set might actually give you hope against bliss...to keep this short, USE THAT SET!

The Wave November 6th, 2007 4:35 AM

ok, with this help, I've applied that to the team on the first post. I've put the team now in a spoiler tab because of the long post. I've also looked for umbreon, but the only thing I found is an annoyer, which isn't that useful in this team.

luke November 6th, 2007 6:31 AM

X-Scissor doesn't Poison. X.x; I'd suggest you use Substitute first with Jolteon, so it could possibly survive with those terrible Defense Stats. Good luck with this team though.

The Wave November 6th, 2007 6:46 AM

then I was wrong about x-scissor. -_-' anyway I've edited it in the first post.

The Wave November 25th, 2007 4:17 AM

I know, bumps aren't allowed, but this topic is death, and I want the team finished. maybe someone can tell me how to delete a specific post of yours, then that would help, but I mainly want this team finished.

luke November 25th, 2007 6:42 AM

No bumping. If you know it's wrong, DON'T DO IT. Just create a new thread.

The Wave November 25th, 2007 7:03 AM

I don't create a new thread by purpose: if I do that, there will be a lot threads that are the same in less than a week. I'm used to copy the last post, delete the last post and then repost it, then the thread is up without anything against the rules.

Kuro November 25th, 2007 7:10 AM

I have a new Umbreon set that I am going to try out (EV training the Eevee atm).

[email protected] Orb
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 Def/252 SD/6 HP
- Mean Look
- Wish
- Curse
- Baton Pass

Toxic Orb to synchro-poison your opponent after trapping them with Mean Look. Then Wish to regain health, and Curse once or twice. Then BP the Curse (in my case it is to a Meganium i.e. my Cleric).

The Wave November 25th, 2007 7:14 AM

that's pretty good, that might work, but a comment to the wish: wish doesn't heal yourself, but an another pokemon, it works a bit like destiny bond. the only difference is that instead of killing the opponent, it will heal a pokemon of your team. well this is at least what I heard, I might be wrong.

Azonic November 25th, 2007 7:15 AM

[email protected]
Trait: Synchronize
Nature: Bold
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 SDefense
- Baton Pass
- Mean Look
- Wish
- Substitute / Taunt / Curse

[email protected] Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Defense / 80 SDefense
- Curse
- Payback
- Baton Pass
- Mean Look

Kuro November 25th, 2007 7:18 AM

Wish heals the Pokemon that is out at the time. OR, you could Baton Pass the Wish to another Pokemon. That way the health lost from taking the hit will be recovered.

The Wave November 25th, 2007 7:22 AM

now I have 3 different umbreon sets, which is better? and kuro, that confuse me a bit, can you explain it with an example?

Kuro November 25th, 2007 7:27 AM

Okay...

Let's set a scenario. Umbreon vs. Jolteon.

-Jolteon uses Agility.
-Umbreon uses Mean Look.
-Toxic Orb kicks in, and synchro-poisons Jolteon.
-Jolteon uses Thunderbolt.
-Umbreon uses Curse/Wish.
-Jolteon uses Thunderbolt.
-Umbreon uses Baton Pass.

This way, you can pass on the effects of Curse to another Pokemon or the Wish heal the Pokemon that is sent out due to Baton Pass.

The Wave November 25th, 2007 7:28 AM

I see, now I understand it... then I´ll use that umbreon, that surely will help.

Azonic November 25th, 2007 8:00 AM

Erm... okay Kuro - Synchronize doesn't Poison the opponent if the Poison came from something other than the opponents attack. The only way Synchronize works is if the opponent induces a status condition to you.

Kuro November 25th, 2007 9:18 AM

Really? Well, that sucks.

The Wave November 25th, 2007 9:43 AM

really? then I'll use the second umbreon of Azonic if that's the case.

Anti November 25th, 2007 12:47 PM

Even with curse, umbreon is going to need some defense. EDIT: As in, give it max Def.

The Wave November 26th, 2007 11:17 AM

yeah that's true, I didn't thought of that. well umbreon needs high defense, so would it actually better to use the first umbreon set of Azonic?
