a lot of questions, a lot of help would be nice

okay first of all, what is the nature that is +Speed, -Defense?

secondly, what are yall's opinons; what do yall think the best nature for an Infernape is?

thirdly, what is a good MOVESET for an Infernape, i def. want grass knot and close combat but other than that, what do yall have in mind? i was thinking heat wave or blaze kick because ive seen my brothers infernape faint way too many times with flare blitz.

and last but not least, i heard this was true: feeding a pokemon spicy poffins that likes spicy poffins will raise its friendship? true or false?

Hasty

Depends on the moveset.

blaze kick is made of epic fail. Run the mixed set, since it makes amazing use of grass know.

lol wut

The simple Q&A thread is your fried...but your answers are in bold...

Lets kill two birds with one stone here :3

[Infernape] @Leftovers or Life Orb
Trait: 'Blaze'
EVs: EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Hasty Nature (+Spd / -Def)

- Close Combat
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot

No. Heat wave fails compared to flamethrower. Acc>Power

Spice Curry November 5th, 2007 1:17 PM

Flamethrower is Infernape's most reliable special attack and will form the core of a large majority of its sweeps. Heat Wave has accuracy issues, and Infernape really can't afford its attacks to miss, because it dies very easily.

EDIT: Anti-Pop Culture Warrior 13 beat me to it.

And the power boost is minimal...

Overheat > Flamethrower if you plan to use Physical Sweeping Infernape. The Special Attack down won't affect it that much

I've got a question on this. If Grass Knot is special but its strength depends on the opponets weight then does decreasing the spatk make it weaker?

Faceless* November 5th, 2007 2:40 PM

Stone Edge with Swords Dance over Grass Knot|Nasty Plot is also an option

boo836 November 5th, 2007 2:57 PM

Think about it ultranerd, if it's special then yes it does make it weaker if you lower sp.attack.

Stone Edge has accuracy issues, doesn't it? Wouldn't it be in the same boat as Heat Wave as far as Infernape is concerned?

No, since there is no rock type version of stone edge. the next best thing is rock slide, which has accuracy issues of its own.

Spice Curry November 5th, 2007 3:32 PM

^ Ah, okay got it. Thanks for clarifying.

brandon tautou November 5th, 2007 3:48 PM

heat wave's accuracy is 90 and i'd say that that's pretty good

Flamethrower hits all the time. and the Power Difference is only 5. Its barely a difference in Power - they will inflict almost the SAME amount of damage every turn. But Flamethrower has AC 100 and therefore will hit more. Sure, 90 AC is good but with Flamethrower - theres no competition. If you want Heat Wave, I'd suggest to use Fire Blast instead.

Or, you can use the physical Infernape with Overheat.
