Scyther can really sweep better IMO, but SR really pwns it...

Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Def
Admant / Impish Nature
- Baton Pass
- Agility
- Swords Dance
- X-Scizzor

Scizor @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Admant Nature
- Agility
- X-Scizzor
- Pursuit
- Iron Head

Blah. I'm no good with the sweeper set lol

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 9:13 AM

yeah scyther's speed is better, but the bottom line for me is that i use he pkmn that inspired me to play. But i forgot about pursuit so thanx for that :)

Lumine November 6th, 2007 9:15 AM

Scizor is like gg with any fire type move

Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Def
Admant / Impish Nature
- Baton Pass
- Agility
- Swords Dance
- X-Scizzor

I like this set Anti

but

Scizor @ Liechi Berry
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant
Trait: Swarm
-Agility
-Endure
-Reversal
-X-Scissor <--Stabbie

I like mucking around with this set XD

MegaDitto November 6th, 2007 9:18 AM

Scizor @ Life Orb
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 HP / 128 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Agility
- Swords Dance/Iron Head/Brick Break
- X-Scizzor

You said you don't want a Baton Passer. D:

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 9:24 AM

I know scizor gets nailed by fire types, thats why i suggested U-turn. Damage and a switch out, and I think the stat boost from SD or agility will remain in play, making it even more effective

Arsibiyez November 6th, 2007 9:25 AM

I enjoy this Scizor. He's kinda fun to use. :)

Scizor @ Shell Bell
Trait: Technician
Jolly / Impish / Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
- Double Hit
- Metal Claw
- X-Scissor / Aerial Ace
- Swords Dance / Agility

Everything relies on Technician for power. Double Hit gets a total of 105 Power ([35 * 150%] * 2 = 105). Two hits also means that you can break down Subs, and recover twice in one turn with Shell Bell. Metal Claw's total power with STAB and Technician is 112.5 which rounds off to 113 (same as Steel Wing with just STAB, but more reliable and usable to help increase Atk). X-Scissor for STAB, or Aerial Ace for coverage, and a boosting move to help make up for the lack of one stat, depending on the nature. :D

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 9:31 AM

2 questions for everyone:
A) Impish nature? What does it do again?
B) U-Turn? do stat boosts from SD/Agil stay in play?

+Def, -SAtk

No.

Otherwise BP would be obsolete...

Arsibiyez November 6th, 2007 9:37 AM

Oh, man. What was I thinking... A big YES to U-Turn for saving Scizor from his untimely doom from a Flamethrower.

@ Lumine: You beat me to that moveset. Good call on the Reverscizor. I gave the similar set to my friend, and he really used it well. *thumbs up* =]

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 9:37 AM

fair point, guess it makes sense. Ooh i dont like impish, with only one weakness scizor has a tiny chance of surviving some attacks. may as well decrease SpAtt which is an unused stat.

Arsibiyez November 6th, 2007 9:39 AM

@ Anti-pop: could you post a sweeping Scyther moveset? I'm curious, that's all. Who knows? Maybe it'll help with the discussion.

Impish DOES decrease SAtk. It increases Def, which is Scizor's best stat.

Anti November 6th, 2007 10:37 AM

for the record, any set made around reversal is probably bad...

Scyther @ Life Orb / Focus Sash / Lum Berry / Leftovers
Trait: Swarm / Technician (I don't care...)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- X-Scizzor
- Aerial Ace
- Night Slash / Pursuit

Technician always, unless his only attack is X Scissor, in which case go with Swarm

Eh. I was wondering if somebody would comment on that...

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 1:37 PM

Im not keen on technician, a base 60 attack is moved up to 90, I'd rather choose a base 90 att and have a chance of swarm's boost. It's only really helpfull with moves like pursuit imo

And aerial ace...and metal claw...and of course, pursuit...

Angelic Diablo November 6th, 2007 1:39 PM

All I know is my Scyther with Technician hits with a 135 BP Aerial Ace =P

Swarm is only good if you are planning on letting Scizor take hits long enough to activate Swarm, which is why I only suggest using Swarm on the Baton Passing sets (since he is gonna take hits when he is powering up)

Dunsparce November 6th, 2007 2:17 PM

Novelty: CBzor

[email protected] Band/Scarf
Adamant/Jolly
Technician
X-Scissor
Iron Head/Steel Wing/Metal Claw
Pursuit/Night Slash
Aerial Ace

Suprise, Surprise. Apparently, I also have a Choice set for the other usable Bug/Steel Type (Wormadam = Pathetic)

Basically, the chocie for the Steel or Dark Move is all about preference.

THis could work with Scyther, if you don't mine is being COMPLETELY DESTROYED by Stealth Rocks. Since Rock Attacks are more common than Fire, Scizor>Scyther Typing wise (Not to mention Scyther is weak against both sides of Bolt-Beam)

Faceless* November 6th, 2007 2:21 PM

Iron Head over Metal Claw, the power reaches 120.

Anti November 6th, 2007 3:26 PM

I actually have seen CB scizor a bit in ADV O_O
