i'm training all 493 pokemon to lvl 100 with competitive movesets coz i'm bored lol
and i like sneasel better than weavile so i'm doing him first =)

El Gofre November 6th, 2007 12:17 PM

I agree with hyun, Weaville is an ugly sprite. The shiny one is the campest poke ever, its the sprite version of the indian in YMCA lol

Hyunbin November 6th, 2007 12:24 PM

it's not just the sprite
i don't even like ken sugimori's artwork of weavile
i hate it completely XD

anyhooz
thanks for the suggestions =)

ShadowTails November 6th, 2007 12:24 PM

Sneasel @ Focus Sash
Adamant/Jolly Nature
-Ice Punch (breed)/Ice Shard
-Night Slash/Pursuit
-Aerial Ace
-Brick Break

That's about as good as you're going to get...

Pocket Monster Researcher Archer November 6th, 2007 12:26 PM

the move set is good but if you want it to be a physical sweeper, try teaching it a high striking dark move like night slash.

Hyunbin November 6th, 2007 12:36 PM

i would love it to learn night slash.... BUT IT CAN'T LEARN IT!!! XD
only weavile can >_<
WHY?!... damn i'd really like to know why lol o____o

He wants a Sneasal moveset, and sadly Sneasal doesn't learn Night Slash.
Stick with Pursuit.

EDIT: Beaten to it lol

Hyunbin November 6th, 2007 12:39 PM

is it alright if i stick with faint attack?
because i already have the sneasel i'm going to train
its attack and speed are like 30~31

Spice Curry November 6th, 2007 12:43 PM

Faint Attack is terrible, honestly. 60 Base Power, even with STAB, isn't anything to have a party about. Pursuit is good, especially if your opponent's lead is a Pokemon that is Weavile weak (in your case, Sneasal-weak) and he'll try to switch out. Pursuit stops them dead.

You could go with Punishment if you're real gimmicky like that but thats assuming your opponent uses stat-boosting moves like Dragon Dance, Calm Mind, etc.

Hyunbin November 6th, 2007 12:45 PM

pursuit has only 40 base power so it's even worse than faint attack though o_0

Spice Curry November 6th, 2007 12:49 PM

Pursuit's Base Power is boosted when you use it on a Pokemon that is switching out. And adding that to Weavile's/Sneasal's STAB and attacking power (usually with Life Orb as an item)...yeah, it gets pretty deadly.

To give you an idea, a Weavile with Pursuit and a Choice Band/Life Orb attached can typically kill an Alakazam switching out in one hit. Pretty nasty, actually.

Yep Pursuit is deadly, With Choice Band it OHKOS Alakazam, Gengar, Azelf, Other weak psychics or Ghosts etc. regardless of weather they switch out or not. Unless they are abusing Focus Sash......

i know that it'll eventually get 80 plus stab
but what if u're not using it on an opponent switching out? =\

Prediction...

Really, who keeps Zam in against weavile? That's the idea behind pursuit...same goes for gengar, dusknoir, etc.

Hyunbin November 6th, 2007 1:19 PM

i'm talking about what if u're not up against a pokemon like alakazam, gengar etc. who's obviously weak to dark moves

Then use a different move :/ the point of pursuit IS to take out those kind of pokemon. It's like a guarenteed KO...

Dark Azelf November 6th, 2007 1:31 PM

Pursuit = 40 base power + Stab = 60 + Choice Band = 80

On a pokemon switching out 80 power (from STAB and Choice Band) X 2 = 180

Ouch !!! It good whether they're not switching out or switching out. Also you have Ice Shard/Punch/Aerial Ace to take out things that arnt switching out aswell.

Schrodinger November 18th, 2007 11:27 AM

Sorry to ressurect this thread, but just wondering, for Weavile I am thinking of using this setup like people have suggested.

Weavile @ Focus Sash
Adamant/Jolly Nature
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash/Pursuit
-Aerial Ace/Swords Dance
-Brick Break

Though I was wondering, which is the better choice? Aerial or swords?

Also would it be silly to have both night slash and pursuit, or would just one of them be enough?

Schrodinger November 20th, 2007 12:07 PM

Sorry to bump this, but it was on the 3rd page.
