Set for weezing killer probopass

Hi I was thinking weezing was immune to ground due to levitate so I thoght that gravity could counter that so the only sensible choice was probopass with earth power so now I need help with Ivs and the other moves for it.

Or you could just use a strong special attack to bring it down...*coughspecsmencecough*

I'm not fond of the idea, as it has other things to worry about rather than weezing.

But it nabs opponents by surprise and also it can threaten skarm for if it tries to heal.

The mintute gravity is used...they'd just switch :/ I mean, your opponenet would have to be pretty stupid...and making a pokemon just to counter one pokemon (which isn't very common anymore anyways) just seems a bit pointless to me.

Azonic November 6th, 2007 3:13 PM

Weezing isn't used by many so I wouldn't waste a whole moveslot for Gravity. As for Skarmory, there are much better and faster ways to KO it than use Gravity / Earthpower. Also, they can just switch out - as Anti stated

Your strategy uses two turns while most other Strategies can instantly OHKO or at least annoy the opponent,

Anti November 6th, 2007 3:14 PM

Magneton > skarmory anyways...or magnezone, rather. No need to make things too complicated.

boo836 November 6th, 2007 3:16 PM

But it harms the three birds too and of course let's earth power hit ones with levitate.

three birds? you mean the legendary birds? lol, moltres (specstres) will torch probopass and won't stay in to get earth powered to death. Really, they can switch, dubbing the startegy useless.

Naw, its part Rock and it has about 145 Base Sp.Def hehe

It can survive... if that is, MOLTRES WON'T HAVE GROUND/FIGHTING ATTACK!

Anti November 6th, 2007 3:21 PM

HP fighting specstres ??? lol

Still, it'll do some damage and then just switch into aomething that lols at probopass...

boo836 November 6th, 2007 3:21 PM

You can always use then clefary or something with gravity in a double battle with earth power.

*Sigh* THEY CAN SWITCH OUT!!! Even then, skarm can easily take a couple of earthquakes from probopass...I mean really...

boo836 November 6th, 2007 3:41 PM

Earth quake is physical, why use it on skarm?

Never mind, wrote the wrong thing. You have to realize this just wouldn't work :/

Erm... Earthquake / Earthpower ... you get the point. He meant Earthpower.

What he's trying to say is that the opponent can easily switch their pokemon out. That means that Gravity will lose its effect. So Gravity is only a PHazing move which only works on certain pokemon. It won't really do any damage.

Turn 1

Skarmory used Spikes!
Probopass used Gravity!
Skarmory couldn't keep airborne due to gravity!

Turn 2

Skarmory, come back!
Go Weezing!
Probopass used Earthpower!
Probopass's attack missed!

etc.

Anti November 6th, 2007 3:57 PM

Or they could just switch to Rhyinferior to CB EQ probopass to its doom. I mean really...

Dunsparce November 6th, 2007 3:58 PM

I still think boo has a stupid idea, but I'd like to note Probopass CAN have Magnet Pull to trap Skarm.

BUT, unless Probopass was soemhow magically able to use Taunt, if the Skarm is stuck, you'll probably get Probopass Roared/Whirlwinded away.

Anti November 6th, 2007 4:01 PM

I forgot about PHazing...lol

Still, skarm soemtimes carries sub, which would also give it time to roar away without taking any damage.

Wouldn't gravity still effect weezing since gravity is for 5 turns?

Anti November 6th, 2007 7:16 PM

My god, the combo fails! there's no debating it. Gravity could last the whole dang battle, the opponent would switch to a counter. Do you actually think they'd let you pull off such a startegy that is THAT easy to counter? lol, gyarados comes in. OH NO! Earth power / EQ! Pff. It wouldn't hurt it much at all. Taunt, DD, sweep. Lose. If anything, it's bate for sweepers (mainly ones that power up) and BPers to lol at you and then cause a sweep of your team.

Samson November 6th, 2007 7:18 PM

i use probopass w/ Choice Specs.

i pass it agility from a physical poke that resists earthquake so that steel types can come in, expect me to switch out, and trap them with Probopass for the trap and OHKO.
