RMT: It Stalled Again?!?!?!
Anyway, this is a stall team... or a defensively orientated team, whichever you prefer to call it...
[email protected] Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) EVs: 236 HP, 136 Atk, 108 Def, 30 Sp Def Earthquake Ice Beam / Psychic Rest / Explosion Rapid Spin Enough HP and Def to survive an Ice Punch for Electivire, and enough Attack EVs to OHKO with an Earthquake [email protected] Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) EVs: 182 HP, 212 Def, 116 Sp Atk -Aromatherapy -Seismic Toss -Ice Beam -Softboiled Sp Atk EVs to kill off Salamence and Garchomp with an Ice Beam [email protected] Impish Nature (+Def, -Sp Atk) EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Atk -Drill Peck -Roost / Rest -Spikes -Whirlwind Standard Spiking/Phazing Skarmory [email protected] Careful Nature (+Sp Def, -Sp Atk) EVs: 252 HP, 40 Atk, 74 Def, 144 Sp Def -Pain Split -Will o Wisp -Pursuit -Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak Pursuitomb, enough Sp Def and HP to survive Specsmence Draco Meteor, also enough attack to kill off Gengar as they switch (Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch is for the final kill if they decide to stay in) [email protected] Orb Adament Nature (+Atk, -Sp Atk) EVs: 172 HP, 118 Atk, 116 Def, 104 Spd -Agility -Meteor Mash -Earthquake -Ice Punch / Thunderpunch The HP and Def allow him to survive unSTABed Earthquakes, The attack + Life Orb is enough to take out Gyarados or Salamence with either Thunderpunch or Ice Punch after Intimitade or DD, still haven't decided which is more of a threat, so this guy is still on my Emerald cart at the moment [email protected] Modest Nature (+Sp Atk, -Atk) EVs: 152 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 106 Sp Def -Surf -Hidden Power Electric -Shadow Ball -Wish After focusing on barely surviving hits with most of them, I thought Wish support was in order, also needed some Special attacks so I don't get truely walled by another defensive team. Suggestions and comments are welcome, anything can be changed as well, as this is just written up yet, I'll start breeding and EVing soon |
Infernape could be a problem for this team. It looks good in general, just give Vaporeon HP EV's instead of speed, and Def EV's also, if you want it to survive some physical attacks.
Also, Ice Beam on Claydol isn't a good idea if you don't put sp.atk EV's.. and I'm speaking from experience... Gliscor was walling me with Roost <<; Try Reflect or Light Screen instead... or even Heal Block. yes, Heal Block. Explode in Blissey's / Cressy's face when it can't heal. |
For Claydol I would run this Offense
Claydol @ Leftovers 252 evs in sp.def and def Cosmic power(make the tank more beastly with a couple of theese) Charge Beam(raises it's sp.atk while inflicting considerable damage) Psychic(strong...stabed...enough said) Recover*(I'm pretty sure it's an eggmove)/Rest Roar really screw it up though...but not too many people run a roar/whirlwind offense with multiple pokes. |
@Bigwill:- Any tank without HP EVs fails... end of story
@Syaoran:- Infernape is only a problem when is mixed ape. As Claydol walls the Physical varities with a OHKO with Earthquake or Psychic, and Special varities are put up against Vaporeon, who destroys him with Surf, however I may spread some EVs into Defense just for more staying power (and wishing power) |

252 HP / 114 DEF / 144 SP.DEF Relaxed Nature - Earthquake / Earth Power - Stealth Rock / Reflect / Light Screen / Stone Edge / Ice Beam / Toxic / Rest / Explosion - Rapid Spin - Psychic I honestly believe this 100% needs psychic to catch Gengar on the switch in whom often tries to block Raid Spin. Earthquake and Earth Power for your standard STAB move which OHKO's Electivire regardless of how many evs you put in attack who has to switch out and loose motor drive or get Ohko'd with EQ by not Ohkoing you first with Ice Punch. Rapid Spin is self explanatory Now the second slot, Stealth Rock, Reflect, Light Screen for team support, Stone Edge to chip away at Weavile and Gyarados (2HKO on Weavile with no att ev investment), Ice Beam for Bulky ground types and Dragons, Toxic to wear down Dusknoir, Spiritomb and Cresselia etc, Rest can be abused in your case due to Aromatheraphy, Explosion if you must, to go out with a bang. __________________ |

Earth Power might actually not kill the big threats, since most of theme are weaker in the Def department, thus making Earthquake more useful (and the base power is better too).
|
@Lumine:- I'm well aware of the Standard Agiligross, and I know far too well that he falls from unSTABed Earthquakes too often (mainly from a DDMence or DDGyarados) which is why I modified the EVs just enough to survive the Earthquake, and KO them back with Ice or Thunderpunch depending on which is the bigger threat (Life Orb + 118 Atk EVs guarantees at least 100% damage to both, even after Intimidate)
Sometimes complicated is better you know And yes, Claydol is there to switch in on and take out Electivire's and Infernape's (providing I don't switch in on a Grass Knot or Ice Punch) with an Earthquake. Spiritomb seems far to slow to use Hypnosis, maybe that's just me though, might change if I get similar suggestions from others Well if anyone has anymore advice/critism I'd love to hear it... but for now I guess I'll start working on what I have now |

Just on the bold, Intimidate doesnt effect Metagross thanks to its Clear Body ability. |
Wow I completely forgot that when doing my damage calculations... haha
