Feraligatr ev training

How should I Ev train my Feraligatr? I need the whole shebang. I'm not very good at this stuff yet. I only need the base stats, natures, and all that good stuff to start training a really good Feraligatr.

Ps. I would also like to know what I should Ev train him/her in.

Sora_8920 November 14th, 2007 3:20 PM

Attack, Speed, and the rest in HP.... Use this set:

Feraligatr @ Leftovers (M)
Trait: Torrent
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang....

Milke November 14th, 2007 3:48 PM

What base stats should I be looking for?

And why is ice fang and waterfall better than ice beam and surf or hydro cannon?

4th Gen. Surf should never be used unless its 3rd Gen. Hydro Cannon is a Water Hyper Beam, therfore, it should not ever be used. Ice Beam is the same reason as Surf.. People should listen to the experts.

Milke November 14th, 2007 3:54 PM

Sorry! I meant hydro pump. And, please specify here, WHY, exactly are ice beam and surf so bad????

-_-;

Because it's Special Attack sucks, While its Physical Attack ROCKS!

If only Ice Punch/Dragon Dance was a legal Combo ;-;

For DDing set, I usually go Rock Slide/Stone Edge>Ice Fang because Rock Quake covers alot, while Waterfall hits the 3 of the 4 Pokemon that resist both: Flygon, Claydol, and Levitate Bronzong. Breloom resists all three attacks, though.

BECAUSE THEY'RE SPECIAL. ONLY IN 3RD GEN SHOULD THEY BE USED. FERALIGATR IS PHYSICAL. Thank you. Edit: I believe you're thinking of Ice Punch, Dunsparce.

Milke November 14th, 2007 4:09 PM

Is waterfall physical? Hooray!! I hatched my first totodile!!!! Here he is:

Totodile, Lv. 1

Adamant Nature

Hp:12
Atk:6
Def:6
Sp.Atk:4
Sp.Def:6
Spd:6

Moves: (probabaly not important)

Scratch
Leer

Is this good? I have five other eggs in reserve if not.

Icebeam and Surf aren't bad, its just that Fera's special attack is so low, it makes better use of Ice Fang and Waterfall.

On level 1 pokemon, we can't really tell the EVs so you'd have to level it up.

Milke November 14th, 2007 4:16 PM

Okay. Should I ev train it right away? To what level should he be raised?

Azonic November 14th, 2007 4:18 PM

You can't find the exact IVs of a pokemon unless you do an IV battle. you could use Serebii's IV calcutator too.

Milke November 14th, 2007 4:21 PM

Okay. I am now Ev training him. I have another question: Is waterfall attack or special attack?

Anti November 14th, 2007 4:51 PM

Itachi, saying surf is only good in 3rd gen is...well...false. *points to starmie and milotic*

Feraligatr @ Leftovers / Lum Berry / Life Orb
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- *Random Physical Attack*

Ice Fang is a tad redundant, yes?

And stats aren't important superkyogreruler, IV are ;)

I meant in most cases for Surf. Ice Fang actually works well.... Rock Slide if you find it redaundant, SKR.

Anti November 14th, 2007 5:02 PM

Sorry, but surf is a great move. No way around it. I've played through both gens, I can tell you that right now ;)

Well, most people say Surf for 3rd Gen, and Waterfall for 4th gen...

Anti November 14th, 2007 5:06 PM

Where do you get your advice from? Just Let's review...

Surf has more power. It was actually useful in more than one generation. And how many pokemon can utilize it has nothing to do with a move's power. that's like saying spikes sucks because only a few pokemon can learn it ;)

Waterfall on starmie in 4th gen is lol, which is kinda what you just said in a way :0
