Diamond RMT - Suggestions needed

Basically I'm still on my way to building a team in any battles do occur... seeing as I've never found anyone else with the game here yet.

For suggestions, please, nothing requiring migration from 3rd gen. I only have Diamond and nothing else.
And Wi-fi is also out of the option, (even though I have a FC) =/ So some items and Pokemon I won't have access to or get more copies of.

Help needed with mainly item and EV spreads. Oh, and a choice of Pokemon. xD I've got a couple to choose from to make this team up...

---------------------------------------

Infernape @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly nature
- Flare Blitz / Blaze Kick
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Thunderpunch

Lucario @ Choice Specs
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Shadow Ball
- Dragon Pulse / HP Electric or Rock
- Psychic /
HP Electric or Rock

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs:
212 HP / 216 Def / 80 SAtk
Bold/Modest Nature
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Aromatherapy

Skarmory @ Shed Skin (Preferably not Leftovers since it takes ages to find another one...)
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Drill Peck
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Spikes

Jolteon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Subsitute
- HP Ice or Grass
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass

And finally, either Gyarados or Garchomp:

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang

OR:

Gyarados @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs:
168 HP / 76 Atk / 88 Def / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Taunt

-----------------------------------------

= Updated!

Azonic November 14th, 2007 5:16 PM

Jolteon can have Petaya / Salac Berry. Substitute works very well with berries. Substitute whittles down the HP, then the berries activate. The Berry's effect can be Baton Passed too.

Hidden Power [ICE] is an alternative for Agility on Jolteon too.

I've noticed that Garchomp is an easy threat to this team. Fire Blast Garchomp gets rid of Skarmory and Lucario while Earthquake gets rid of Lucario, Jolteon, Infernape, and Blissey. A good natured, EVed, and IVed Garchomp can get rid of your own chomp too.

Anti November 14th, 2007 5:19 PM

For gyarados...

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP / 16 Atk / 180 Def / 100 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall / Ice Fang

Gyara really likes EQ...but really, it needs taunt. Ddgyara is E-Z to counter.

ChrisG14 November 14th, 2007 5:22 PM

Flava! Everything looks good, a bit Garchomp weak though, but I would suggest this for Gyarados:

[email protected]
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/ 180 Def / 16 Atk/ 100 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake/Stone Edge/Ice Fang
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall

Bulky Dos is better for taking hits, and with a few Dragon Dances, it pwns hard. Taunt to stop Skarmory from Roaring or Whirlwinding you away, stoping your Dragon Dances. Waterfall for flinch hax. I like Earthquake for Electric types, you can sweep most of them with 1 Dragon Dance, but Ice Fang is for Dragons and Stone Edge is nice. Take your pick.

You forgot the 100 Spd EVs ;) though gyara really needs EQ, trust me on that. Waterfall isn't necesary if you have ice fang with teh EQ.

Yeah, I suppose so. What's the best way to combat that here?

I've never been too fond of using Taunt unfortunately. But if it helps, then it's all good.

Just one problem for me is the ability to get more Leftovers.. I don't think I'll be able to get as many to fill out the various positions. Any other recommendations?

100 Spd

Lol, check again. And Waterfall's better with accuracy and teh flinch hax0rz. Ice Fang is meh.

Hmm, if no lefties, go with Wacan Berry. Cuts down Electric attacks powers, and bulky Dos can take it.

Fine with me, as long as you have EQ, which IMO gyara REALLY needs. Ice fang / waterfall is up for debate ;)

If it was Ice Fang, would Gyarados be able to handle Garchomp?

It probably would but you need more than one counter for chomp

With one DD, yes. Even without one DD, you'd hammer it.

Enatia November 14th, 2007 5:56 PM

infernape was made to be a mix sweeper.. imo blaziken would make a better physical sweeper with the higher base stat in atk.

Blaziken isn't fast enough to sweep well with a CB set. 'Nape does it much better. nothing wrong with physical infernape.

Right, well I'm guessing unless I change any of my Pokemon, I'm going to be left at that one main weakness to Garchomp.

How would an Ice Punch Weavile fit into the team?

---------------------------------------

Infernape @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly nature
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Thunderpunch

Choice Band for such a good Life Orb / Expert Belt user? He really wants Life Orb, and definitely wouldn't enjoy being locked to one move.

Lucario @ Life Orb/Choice Specs?
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Shadow Ball
- Dragon Pulse / HP ice
- Psychic

This would work better with Choice Specs/Scarf probably, and you might wanna give him HP ice instead of Dragon Pulse for beter coverage. If you already have Shadow Ball, then Dark Pulse isn't needed so much, and Psychic would be the last move.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpAtk / 4HP
Bold/Modest Nature
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Aromatherapy

Haven't tried a Blissey without HP EV's, but I guess it could work.

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 252Def / 4 HP
Impish Nature
- Drill Peck / Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Spikes

I prefer Brave Bird over Drill Peck, since Skarmory can roost off the recoil damage anyway, being extremely bulky and all. And as for items, give it Shed Shell, to escape Magnezone.

Jolteon @ ???
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP?
Timid Nature
- Subsitute
- HP grass
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass

Would work better as your starter, could use a Salac berry to pass to Garchomp or Lucario incase you decide to give him Life Orb. Try giving it HP grass for that sexy Swampert lurking around the corner.

And finally, either Gyarados or Garchomp:

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang

I personally prefer Outrage on a Swords Dancing Garchomp, it makes the perfect late game sweeper.

OR:

Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake / Stone Edge
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Taunt

Stone Edge and Waterfall hits anything for at least neutral damage. Gyarados without Stone Edge can't take on my Abomasnow :p

-----------------------------------------

I think I've typed that all right...

Garchomp would be my pick for this team. Oh and I'm not sure what requires imigrating from 3rd gen, so just ignore it if you see it.

Ayeaye, captain!

Loud and clear Private!

Help needed with mainly item and EV spreads. Oh, and a choice of Pokemon. xD I've got a couple to choose from to make this team up...

---------------------------------------

Infernape @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly nature
- Flare Blitz / Blaze Kick
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Thunderpunch
In the event that you end up Flare Blitzing a Blissey by accident and losing tons of health, Blaze Kick is also your friend.

Lucario @ Life Orb/Choice Specs?
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse
- Psychic / Hidden Power (Rock) / Hidden Power (Electric)
You can use Hidden Power to your advantage to attack oncoming Flying attackers.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 212 HP / 216 Def / 80 SAtk
Bold/Modest Nature
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Aromatherapy
Eww, no! Blissey needs that HP!

Skarmory @ ??? (Preferably not Leftovers since it takes ages to find one... and I haven't even got one yet)
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Drill Peck
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Spikes
There's a Leftovers located in Victory Road somewhere. Go find it.

Jolteon @ ???
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP?
Timid Nature
- Subsitute
- Agility
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass
You need to get Pokemon Battle Revolution, and get your hands on a Petaya Berry!

And finally, either Gyarados or Garchomp:

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang
Cool people use Yache Berry.

OR:

Gyarados @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 168 HP / 76 Atk / 88 Def / 176 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Taunt
Cool people use Wacan Berry and more armor.
Keep Waterfall because the flinch is sexy.

-----------------------------------------

I think I've typed that all right...

Keep Gyarados since he's the more Clean-Up Sweeper Choice over Garchomp. I'd probably recommend replacing Jolteon with something like Claydol for additional team support.

Also, your team suffers from Enemy Infernape and Salamence Onslaught.

Choice Band for such a good Life Orb / Expert Belt user? He really wants Life Orb, and definitely wouldn't enjoy being locked to one move.

What exactly does Expert Belt raise? On Serebii it says "Super effective moves" but that's a bit bland...

Lucario @ Life Orb/Choice Specs?
Ability: Steadfast

I'm not quite sure what HP my one has, I haven't tested it yet but it did take awhile to get the right nature for it. So I'll probably go with Dragon Pulse.

Jolteon @ ???
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP?
Timid Nature
- Subsitute
- HP grass
- Thunderbolt
- Baton Pass

I've yet to decide on the ordering of my team but it would most likely be this one.

None of it I think... having 3rd gen migration would be nice though.

I have as of last night. But Blissey probably needs it more.

Right, I'll go with Gyara then. I don't think I've found a Baltoy yet, so I'll consider that if I ever do with the Pokeradar.

First post updated as well.

Salac Berry and Agility is a tad overkill. Try another booster if you must, like Petaya Berry. Otherwise, if leaning towards your HP, then stick with the Salac berry.

Hidden Power Ice combined with Petaya Berry is lethal to your major garchomp weakness. Although even without the Petaya, you should be able to kill it.

I can't get the Petaya berry, so I'll have to go with the Salac and HP Ice.
