Ooooh, Regigigas~

This isn't Uber, from what I've read. =)

Regigigas @ Leftovers
Trait: Slow Start
Adamant Nature
- Rest
- Thunderpunch / Earthquake
- Ice Punch / Zen Headbutt / Aerial Ace
- Return

A pseudo-boltbeam. Return with 80 base attack (during Slow Start) isn't bad; with STAB, it hurts. EQ may be for general damaging and a cover against the famous Vire. And I can't pick between Zen Headbutt and Aerial Ace. Rest should be obvious enough...

IMO, Regigigas is a very potent Pokemon with a horrible trait.
Please help. Thank you very much. =)

Nice, or try this:

[email protected]
Adamant
252 HP, 252 Def, 6 Speed

Substitute/Confuse Ray
Thunder Wave/Confuse Ray
Return
Focus Punch

Although Regigigas has an impressive attack stat (After Slow Start), it has pretty good defenses, so those should be utilised. I suggest Substitute first, then throw in a Focus Punch, after slow start of course. If you feel you don't want Substitute, then perhaps go with Thunder Wave and Confuse Ray, although that is rather overkill. Perhaps you would rather another attacking move over Focus Punch, because without substitute, it doesn't really have a purpose. Add Rest in place of Focus Punch, or another attacking move. Your set pretty much covers that aspect anyway. :)

I'd be walled by Gengar if I didn't have at least Zen Headbutt, or one of the elemental punches. Subpunch could work, and it's pretty much guaranteed to get in one clear shot. And if I time it right, I could use it on the very turn that Slow Start's effect gets nulled. Nice...

I need more advice though, and I'd like to know of which Pokemon I need to cover for. I may use this in my team.

EDIT: Oh, it's walled by Shedinja, of all things... (I can't believe I actually used that sentence! O_o)

Which of the elemental punches can I change for Fire Punch to prevent that from happening? I'm assuming it's Ice Punch, but...

unfortunately, that base 100 speed isn't going to help an avalanche...:(

I'll have a look and get back to you in 5 mins. :)

EDIT: Aerial Ace is an option.

[email protected]
Adamant
252 HP, 176 Def, 82 Atk

Aerial Ace/Ice Punch/Fire Punch/Knock Off
Substitute/Thunder Wave/Confuse Ray/Knock Off
Return
Focus Punch/Thunderpunch/Ice Punch/Fire Punch

If you don't want to you substitute, then no need for Focus Punch. Therefore, you can go with Thunder Wave. Then also you can have an Elemental Punch in either slot, making the top slot avaiable to Confuse Ray. I also see it can learn knock off. Can be handy in enforcing a switch to set up a sub-punch. :)

Yes it will: Slow Start...

Ársa November 15th, 2007 4:31 AM

hmmm, yes, but that is only for the first five turns, although it won't be around for that long in battle, and once back in then out, it resets, so yes, that would be good. :) (Forgot the speed side of it...)

Umm... Regigigas cannot get Rest (nor Protect). It is the only case of a TM-learning Pokemon that cannot learn those two moves.

[email protected]
nature: Adamant
evs: 252HP / 6 ATK / 252DEF
- Substitute / Confuse Ray
- Thunder Wave / Confuse Ray
- Return
- Focus Punch / Zen headbutt/Insert Elemental Punch here

This is Regigigas's attempt to stall and outlast slow start.

[email protected] Choice Specs
nature: Modest
evs: 252 HP / 252SPATK / 6 SPD
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice
- Focus Punch

This odd-looking set does have some merit - since Slow Start leaves Regigigas' special attack untouched, this set has 426 special attack and a few odd moves to work with. Focus Punch is a simple filler but could do "some" damage to Blissey if you're using it in that environment.

Or you can try

[email protected] Band
evs: 252 HP / 252ATK / 6 SPD
nature: Adamant
- Return
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt / Insert Elemental Punch here

Choice Band

The next set would probably be the most practical

[email protected]
nature: Impish
evs: 252HP / 76DEF / 180 SPDEF
- Knock Off
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute / Zen Headbutt/ Insert Elemental Punch here
- Return

"Wall"

Regigigas:
Brave
Evs:252att, 124 def, 128 spdef, 6 hp
@expert belt
Avalanche
hp [fighting]
return
confuse ray

That's off the top of my head.

Ársa November 15th, 2007 2:19 PM

I still like mine:

[email protected]
Adamant
252 HP, 176 Def, 82 Atk

Aerial Ace/Ice Punch/Fire Punch/Knock Off
Substitute/Thunder Wave/Confuse Ray/Knock Off
Return
Focus Punch/Thunderpunch/Ice Punch/Fire Punch

If you don't want to you substitute, then no need for Focus Punch. Therefore, you can go with Thunder Wave. Then also you can have an Elemental Punch in either slot, making the top slot avaiable to Confuse Ray. I also see it can learn knock off. Can be handy in enforcing a switch to set up a sub-punch.

OMG!! That's right! I built this monster on the assumption that all Pokemon (except the worms, the cocoons, Magikarp, Ditto, and all "chosen others") could learn Rest.

Dang! So Regigigas has NO RECOVERY MOVES besides DRAIN PUNCH?! What a let-down..

Dark Azelf, I'm liking that Choice Band set. I can see that Superpower would do some massive damage to SkarmBliss. Verrrrry interesting... But I'm thinking, Expert Belt...
