OINK.

I've been looking for a great SP.Wall. Don't get me wrong, I love Noctowl. But my team is Boltbeam (Starmie) weak, & I need a resistor.

A RESISTOR!!!

So so I thought "Hey, Grumpig! So cute. The flaw is, he hasn't a reliable recovery move, but oh well.

I need help. Here is my thoughts:

[email protected]???
Nature:Calm
Psychic
Energy Ball
Reflect
Calm Mind/Charge Beam/Thunderwave/Trick
EV:???

Give me some help. There's the Trick Swapper, but still...or T-wave. Self explainitory.

Arcknight316 November 15th, 2007 7:59 PM

Grumpig has 3 moves :/

Also, the only non-Blissey non-Bolt-Beam weak Sp. Wall I can think of are Hypno and Regice. Cressellia and Noir can do it as well, but they're more Mixed-walls.

Whoops, fixed it.

That isn't entirely true. You call Base 110 Sp.Def shabby? Plus it has Thick Fat. Not bad.

I meant the only OTHER Sp. Walls. Besides Grumpig.

sims796 November 15th, 2007 8:17 PM

Still not true. There are plenty others. Umbreon, Snorlax, hell even Kecleon has respectable SP.DEF-120.

Eos Aduro November 15th, 2007 8:38 PM

Leeme See, well if you gave it a Leftovers and was Thunder Waving, or Burn or and Trick Swapping. Both would work but I like the T-Wave idesa better. Less risky.

Samson November 15th, 2007 8:50 PM

lol your grumpig is one move away from mine ^.^

i always give it thunderwave. calm mind never really comes in handy because as you already mentioned, it has no means of recovery.

as someone previously mentioned, you could go with the Trickspecs variety. it's fun to use and can act as a phazer/special wall/special attacker all at once.

there's also magic coat. magic coat is pretty nice -- it lets you go first regardless of your speed and reflects status right back at them.

i don't have a specific ev spread (i was very lousy with my grumpig -- i initially used it to breed for energy ball), but 252 HP/196 SP DEF/60 SP ATK sounds good.

oh geez sims, look what's happening. now you have cows and pigs hopping on board. it's a dream come trues! XD

sims796 November 15th, 2007 8:59 PM

Meh, I had to lose the cow for the lizard-getting a bit too barnyardy.

Should I keep Reflect? I might use Trickspecs. But T-wave seams terrific.

Eos Aduro November 15th, 2007 9:01 PM

That or Magic Coat, you could even use Taunt against some Pokes that have a weakness against you. I wouldnt do it, but its plausible.

sims796 November 15th, 2007 9:03 PM

The reason I'm skeptical on Magic Coat is that most people won't waste time status inflicting Piggy.

Samson November 15th, 2007 9:05 PM

yah definitely keep reflect. reflect is what makes your team go round... so to speak.

Arcknight316 November 15th, 2007 9:10 PM

I meant that those were the only ones I can think of the top of my head.

Wow....believe it or not, Muk has a respectable Sp. Def of 100! Pretty good for a hunk of purple waste.

Oh, sorry, I get it now.

My friend is using Muk, so I can't. Besides, it may be minor, but I dislike his EQ weakness.

Eos Aduro November 15th, 2007 9:13 PM

I think Sims wants to use Grumpy Pig darkknight, but yes Muk is a pretty good Poke. And I think your Piggy is going to be eating a LOT of roast Poke-Beef dude.

Yeah. Hey - Miltanks ahoy! LET'S EAT!

sims796 November 15th, 2007 9:54 PM

So this is my current Pig:

[email protected]???
Nature:Calm
Psychic
Energy Ball
Reflect
Thunderwave/Trick
EV:252 HP/168 SP.DEF/88 SP.ATK

Good?

Samson November 15th, 2007 9:58 PM

yeah looks good. leftovers is a no brainer here, unless you want to give lum berry.

sims796 November 15th, 2007 9:59 PM

I could also abuse Rest, what with me haveing Aromatherapy.

Lumine November 15th, 2007 11:13 PM

Hmm not sure but something liek dis probz? lawlz

Grumpig @ Leftovers
Modest
252 HP / 80 DEF / 176 SPDEF
Ability: Thick Fat
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
-Calm Mind
-Substitute/Focus Blast

Samson November 16th, 2007 10:05 AM

yah rest Grumpig is actually what destroys even Hypno as a special wall. although wish hypno is very hard to get, Grumpig has access to charge beam now, allowing it some extra benefits for running a resttalk set.

but yeah, you could run rest. i just wouldn't sacrifice reflect for it. and also, vileplume doesn't take hits for grumpig. grumpig takes ice/fire/psychic moves for it. so relying on vileplume to be able to switch in while grumpig is asleep, yet alive is a difficult task for vileplume. it would then require wide lens to put things to sleep, then use aroma.
