If it's NB, give it Ice Punch

Also, Focus Punch is physical, I'd give it Fire Punch for Steel types as well (since Shadow Ball is freaking Physical on 3rd gen..)

Enatia November 16th, 2007 1:50 PM

a lot of randomly placed ev's there...

The Mock Bolt-Beamer is meant to surprise opponents. Hence, the name of this Thread.. Focus Punch doesn't really need much EV's to be effective. Also, Magneton traps Steels with Magnet Pull, and OHKO's them with HP [Fire]. Maybe I should rename Skarm Trapper, "Steel Trapper". 196 Ev's is enough, for Focus Punch, and its Hasty Nature, not Timid, which lowers Attack..

Ice Punch does more damage than HP Ice.

Clefable (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cute Charm
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Def / 20 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Belly Drum
- Meteor Mash
- Return
- Softboiled
Novelty Physical Fable. Surprises Blissey and maker her think twice about switching in Clefable.
Lacks the Speed to actually rape and falls prey to Steelix and Skarmory instantly.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 212 HP / 216 Def / 80 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunder Wave
OU if I recall, Special Wall.. Thunder Wave helps Clefable..
Low Tier OU, but there's no difference.
But could you tell me why on earth does the thing have Speed EVs and so many SAtk EVs when running Calm Mind?

Vileplume (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 34 SAtk / 48 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Moonlight
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
UU Cleric..
You know Sludge Bomb is Physical in 3rd Gen's NetBattle, right?

Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Atk / 176 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Roar
- Rock Slide / Counter
Spikes cleaner.
Needs Roar in 3rd Gen these days.

Magneton @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 6 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Metal Sound
- Substitute

Skarm Trapper.
eh sure.

Heracross can pull an operation: thunderstorm on this team. So don't let Donphan die.

Ice punch :/ Maybe figure out some of the differences in generations, as there are many.

Clefable (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cute Charm
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Def / 20 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Belly Drum
- Meteor Mash
- Return
- Softboiled Novelty Physical Fable. Surprises Blissey and maker her think twice about switching in Clefable.

Walled by steels, who also happen to almost all be physical walls. I mean, belly drum! skarm! Ouch...even it you use the likes of magneton to help its use for late-game, it is still slow enough to fall prey to most any sweeper. And the EVs do seem a tad random.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 212 HP / 68 Def / 12 Spd / 218 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunder Wave OU if I recall, Special Wall.. Thunder Wave helps Clefable..

Slowbro can't take special hits for its life. Even with CM, ch'es are too common for it to be reliable. And any bulky water destroys this. in fact, suicune does almost the saem thing, but FAR better. and what's the speed for?

Vileplume (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 34 SAtk / 48 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Moonlight
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb UU Cleric..

dude, steels wall half your team :/ and TTar is VERY common, moonlight isn't so hot. wait, special attack EVs? dude, learn about 3rd gen, or players as good as me (and far FAR better) will run through you. 3rd and 4th gen are WAY different, really.

Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Atk / 160 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rest
- Rock Slide Spikes cleaner.

Okay.

Magneton @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 6 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt Skarm Trapper.

lol metal sound lol. what's that gonna do?

Besides your magneton, starmie and a few other boltbeamers run through this team easily, especially since you don't have a special wall. Heracross has a similar reign of dominance over you.

EDIT: simply joyous news ladies and gentlemen! This team was made just to counter mine! Guess the integrity of battling really has deminished.

Iceman3k November 16th, 2007 3:36 PM

I used to run Metal Sound on Magneton in ADV. It pissed people using Blissey and Snorlax all the way off.

It didn't work in that rematch we had when he tried it on my raikou and failed horribly. I mean, they can switch to something like Duggy and hammer you.

EDIT: Excuse me for being bitter, but...

Arsibiyez November 17th, 2007 5:46 AM

HP Grass was popular to counter Dugtrio, Nosepass, and Trapinch. (Trapinch was the most novelty of Magneton counters.)

Wobbuffet also falls to Metal Sound, unless you're Taunted.

Ooh, ooh! And Razor Leaf or Giga Drain over Sludge Bomb on Vileplume. Razor Leaf would give it a bit of offensiveness, and Giga Drain obviously provides survivability.

Anti November 17th, 2007 10:52 AM

Wouldn't HP grass be much better than razor leaf? And Wobby can't taunt :/

This IS 3rd generation :/ which is why I recommended it...and I don't think so, but there are pokemon that make better use of encore IMO.

Smarties-chan November 17th, 2007 11:39 AM

Try thinking your team over a bit. The only thing stopping Tyranitar leads from 6 - 0ing you is Donphan, and Celebi will just set up on you and lol. Gyara will have a great time setting up against 4 of your team members and will OHKO the other 2 after a DD. Your Clefable is fail; replace it with something that isn't completely useless and can do something about Gyarados and Tyranitar. You might want to give Slowbro Hidden Power Electric to remedy the Gyarados weakness. Also consider replacing Vileplume with a proper OU special wall. Vileplume is cool, but Sandstream, Gyarados, Salamence Encorezam and friends stop it in its tracks. Vileplume is excellent in UU, but unfortunately, it fails in OU. =\

And Anti-Pop, Metal Sound on Magneton is nothing to lol at. I've pissed off so many Blissey -and Snorlax switch-ins by Metal Sounding on the switch that it's not even funny. It's also nice for Suicune who thinks it can Calm Mind a couple of times and shrug off T-bolts, Resting away the damage.

Anti November 17th, 2007 12:32 PM

Well, I'm still nmot crazy about metal sound, but at least I understnad it now ;)

Though CM alakazams and KoolKou run over this due to a lack of a special wall. Also, most CBers also will make quick work of donphan (it can't switch into too many CBed attacks) and then the rest of the team. Like TTar. I mean, CBtar just runs rampant. I agree with smarties-take out clefable and probably Vileplume.

though sims uses Plume very well. Still, that's 4th gen, so it might not be a fair comparison.
