Run timid on specsmence. Or I would at least.

Azonic November 17th, 2007 4:06 PM

Its always Fire Blast / Flamethrower > Fire Fang on Garchomp. It helps get rid of Skarmory easier.

It needs modest or you wont get as many OHKO'S / 2HKO's with it. I tried Timid and Dusknoir, Spiritomb hell even Claydol were loling at me and i failed to OHKO a Bastiodon with HYdro pump o_0. You dont really need to outspeed much with it anyways, its all about predicting what they switch in anyways with Specs Mence, select to appropriate move to pwn the thing they switch into it.

Right after I posted that, I realized I ran an adamant CBmence and felt really stupid. lol

I suggest Swords Dance over Wing Attack for Scizor. Maybe X-Scizor over Roost. If you can get a Calm Mind Baton Pass in to the beaver, your in business.

what's wrtong with his garchomp? No need to fix something that isn't broken. Besides, scarfchomp is just a lead and revenge killer.

Sora_8920 November 17th, 2007 4:18 PM

Well, for one, who the hell keeps Chomp in on Ice types?

Chainchomp is another option.

Garchomp (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Veil
EV's: 16 Atk / 240 Spd / 252 SpAtk
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast...

i suggest giving bibarel another nature, like bold perhaps. it doesn't matter that pluck covers his weakness when he's too slow to perform the hit and acts defensively rather offensively. replace pluck with surf so he can reap the benefits of having his sp atk go higher.

i use a defensive bibarel myself but i use it as a DD/CM/etc counter with Unaware. you have to give him things like thunderwave/taunt to ensure his safety. otherwise, you're really leaving it up to disappointment when it has no reliable means of recovery.

Sora_8920 November 17th, 2007 4:30 PM

Bibarel (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Unaware
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SATk)
EV's: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
- Return
- Aqua Tail/Waterfall
- Superpower/Focus Punch
- Quick Attack/Thunder/Pluck..

Prolly shoulda stated roles...Mence and Gengar are Special, Chomp is Phys, Scizor Passes, Zong and Barel are both Walls...Kinda wanted to keep it in that range.

I'll stick to Modest on the Mence, thanks for the suggestion though, I understand the reasoning.

I prob will swap out Fang for Flamethrower / Fire Blast, though. Probably should've had that to begin with, since it will help vs Skarm and such.

For the Ice Type remark[Most likely about Chomp's Berry], it helps a lot when I don't realize the pokemon I'm facing has HP Ice or Ice Beam. Mostly the HP, though.

Wing Attack on Scizor gets the Technician Bonus...if I swap it for X-Scissor I'd switch it's Ability to Swarm...plus it would get a STAB Boost...so that would probably be better...Although Flying moves generally hit more. As for Swords Dance, I dunno. I really do enjoy the HP boost and overall ability to stay living longer that Roost gives me...I'll test it out though, I guess.

Also, does Simple double boosts PASSED to it ? I was never sure....

EDIT: Simple makes Bibarel an amazing wall, although I see what you're saying about Surf getting STAB + Charge Beam's bonus, as well as Pluck not doing as much as I'd hope it will. I'll switch the move and nature.

As for Itachi, I want a Simple Bibarel. Simple doubles his stat boosts, so having 2 Amnesias for the price of one and 2 DCurls for 1 is basically what I'm planning on abusing, since it allows him to wall incredibly well, I find.

Samson November 17th, 2007 4:38 PM

yes it does. no matter what the stat boost is, once bibarel receives it, it becomes doubled with a max of +4.

quite obviously, even if it had baton pass, it can't pass those Simple boosts.

Syaoran November 17th, 2007 4:56 PM

Simple might make Bibarel extremely bulky, but with this moveset he won't do much in return, and let others build up on you. Also as Samson stated, it lacks a reliable healing move so it won't be staying there for long, and don't forget the crits that ignore defence boosts.
