rate my Dodrio

Dodrio @ salac Berry
Adamant: 252 atk, 252 spd, 6 hp
Drill Peck
Pursuit
Endure
Flail

basically... the main tactic on this guy is to endure and build up the power of Flail. Once the berry activates, this 'drio should be hitting hard was a STAB Flail...

It's another addition to one of my teams and it's been working pretty good (once any rock\steel walls are gone)...Drill Peck\Pursuit are there to back up this Drio against the ghost types out there.

That looks a nice set, but just watch out for Hail and Sandstorm, etc.

it's a very delicate pokemon, but it's similar to the Endure\Reversal set on a Heracross. That's why I'd aim at using this guy as a late-in-battle sweeper.

Anti November 18th, 2007 12:37 PM

Well, besides weather effects, anything with quick attack, extremespeed, etc. run you over, or anything that resists you, namely steels like skarm which can roar you away. CB dodrio normally works better IMO.

EDIT: there's a reason nobosy uses endure + reversal heracross...

J-Rad November 18th, 2007 12:39 PM

hmm seems good i don't realy like endure/flail that much it works unless opponet has T-Tar, Hippodawn or Abomasnow or any other weather inducer

luke November 18th, 2007 12:41 PM

Dodrio sorely misses Physical Hidden Powers. =[ Like Anti said, CB Dodrio is much better.

And if they don't? My main problem is how steels wall this so horribly. I mean, maybe HP ground...nevermind, it's special X_X

Nacon November 18th, 2007 12:44 PM

lol... yea... I remember the physical hidden powers... that's why I didn't even bother finding out 'Drio's HP...

what's a good choice moveset on 'drio? I'm not too partial on Choicing this guy unless there's something vicious out there. I got a few ideas, but I'd love to see innovative ones.

Anti November 18th, 2007 1:02 PM

Well, dodrio's physical movepool suffered, losing HP and Tri Attack. Whatever works, I suppose. Endure and flail just isn't a good strategy. Maybe work with what's left of its movepool and find something workable.

rofl... that I'm aware of. The choice concept seems nice for the boost, but it really limits moves...
\
choice Drill Peck sadly looks like the way to go. Or Steel wing.... blah blah blah.

Yipes. Anything that needs steel wing might not be so good...;)

yea.......... the only poke that I've liked Steel wing on is Skarm because it can make skarm tougher... but drill peck is just a better stab move as it is.

Anti November 18th, 2007 1:58 PM

Well, return/double-edge, pursuit, drill peck...there's three moves right there. Steel wing could serve as a filler. Bwetter yet, SLEEP TALK! lols at brelooms sporing you.

and you know what.. that's actually a pretty decent idea....lol... a nice surpriser.

STAB drill peck and return isn't too too shabby...either...

but obviously there are better pokes around... I'm just working on someone different.

thanks for the feedback Anti-Pop. 2nd opinions are always handy.

all dodrio is good for is agili/subpass and it's not even great at that.

they should have given it Low Kick like they did in GSC. the bastards =/

lol... yea... a fighting move would've really diversified the poke that much more.
the only thing it's good for now is having 3 heads.
