http://myanimelist.net/anime/149/Loveless

"Twelve-year old Aoyagi Ritsuka is left with his insane mother as his only family when his brother, Seimei, is killed suddenly. After moving to a new school, he meets Agatsuma Soubi, who claims to have known his brother. Ritsuka eventually discovers that Soubi and Seimei used to be a fighting pair, whereby Soubi was the "Fighter" and Seimei was the "Sacrifice". Now that Seimei is gone, Ritsuka has inherited Soubi, who will become his "Fighter". After learning that Seimei was killed by an organisation known as the "Seven Moons", Ritsuka decides to investigate into his brother's death, with the sometimes useless help of Soubi, along the way. "

sorry, im horrible at summaries Dx I fail..
It was alright in my opinion.. But the main character, Ritsuka, had
an attitude that bothered me..

Hey guys what do you recommend after I finish catching up on Bleach?

I tried gunslinger girl but I found it rather boring..

I dropped Gunslinger Girl also. Same reason. :P
If you haven't already watched it then I highly Reccommend Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

If you're looking to watch something similar to Bleach, then I suggest One Piece, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, or Fairy Tail. I'm sure you will be interested in at least on of them.

I want to join as well. I will answer the questions later -__-

What genre do you like?
Here is a list of anime that I watched this summer;
http://www.pokecommunity.com/blog.php?b=8184

They;re all good. But, since you didn't name a specific genre I can't really give you some narrowed down option.

Chad - August 13th, 2010 4:59 AM

Is anybody here watching Occult Academy?

Charizard★ August 13th, 2010 5:02 AM

Thats one of the only anime I never heard of o.o

Chad - August 13th, 2010 5:08 AM

Lol. Search it on MAL or something. It's one of Summer's 2010 anime. I just want someone to try it and tell me what they think of a certain character, whom I HATE! The anime is actually pretty good; it has a solid storyline, the characters are likable, and the art is not bad. I recommend it if you like horror + comedy + mystery anime.

Hmm....who is the main character? :O

Chad - August 13th, 2010 5:29 AM

There are two main characters. Here it is if you want to check if out. xD

I've heard of that one. It was recommended to me by one of my friends... Might start watching it today.

Charizard★ August 13th, 2010 6:38 AM

Seems a lot of good anime are coming this fall D:

Chad - August 13th, 2010 7:12 AM

IMO, this season is not as good as the previous ones. 2010 was a disappointment overall. x( 2007 and 2008 had the best anime releases, IMO. Though I am looking forward to a couple of anime this Fall.

Anybody here watch Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi? It's one of my favorites for this Summer. If you don't watch it, do! It's pretty good.

Nope D:
I thought Ookami was a wolf thing o.o

Chad - August 13th, 2010 7:25 AM

Lol. It does mean wolf. This anime parodies Little Red Riding Hood xD Not the story, only the characters. Ookami being wolf and Ringo (another character) being the LRRH. xD

Oh, wasn't their a previous season then? :3

Chad - August 13th, 2010 7:29 AM

Nope. It's adapted from the manga and it covers about 20 chapters. I think there will be a second season, though.

But is the wolf a person in there? :O

Chad - August 13th, 2010 10:20 AM

Hahah yes! xD The protagonist acts like a wolf by being tough and strong, but in reality is weak and fragile. xD

In rl life. Either my parents drag me away for some reason, the episode doesn't work, or a new episode of an episode I'm already watching come up xD

donavannj August 13th, 2010 5:52 PM

XD; You really need to start trying to watch it before picking up any other series. It's a really great series!

Yea, I really should, I want to see After story so badly XD

donavannj August 13th, 2010 6:09 PM

I point to my 96.2% anime compatibility rating with Jordan as to why I am also pushing the series on you. :P

Gazza August 13th, 2010 6:22 PM

Slow in story development and how the characters speak. :\ Anyways, never mind, I got hooked to it O.O. I don't know why, but the minute I saw Kyou, I started liking the anime xP

As for favorites, I don't feel up to choosing one at the moment.

Hahah! Yes, I meant favorite. I'm not sure as to why I wrote first :\ My favorite would be Kyou! She's just kick-ass!

Never heard of that one either XD

On another not, how do you like my new profile?

Chad - August 14th, 2010 1:05 PM

A simple yet nice profile. xD I really like the colors and the background is nice.

Will there be a second season of Nyan Koi! if you've seen it somewhere? In the last episode, they said there may be a second season, but I'm not finding any confirmation. Oh, and please say you know Nyan Koi! xP

Shanghai Alice August 14th, 2010 4:46 PM

I'm going to suppress my urge to make a DYNAMIC ENTRY into this thread, and simply say...

Kay11190 August 14th, 2010 8:16 PM

Welcome to the Club Alice! And you can post the list if you want. Would be cool to see what you watch.

And I havn't seen that anime either, whats it about?

Chad - August 15th, 2010 1:20 AM

Nyan Koi! is a harem anime with a romantic comedy genre. It talks about a guy who is allergic to cats. One day, he breaks a sculpture or a statue of a worshiped cat-god or something, and he is given the power to speak wit cats! However, he has to help every cat in need or else he will turn to a cat himself! And he must not tell anyone, for he might turn into a cat faster.

It's actually one of favorite anime. xD

Kay11190 August 15th, 2010 7:00 AM

That actually sounds pretty funny. I may have to check it out sometime.

Charizard★ August 15th, 2010 7:40 AM

I was going to watch that, but I watched Omamori Himari which is basically like that XD

Chad - August 15th, 2010 9:04 AM

Yes, it's the same, but Nyan Koi! focuses more on cats and the curse, while Omamori Himari focuses on demons and demon slayers. Personally, I preffered Nyan Koi! because of the romantic comedy and the male lead is pretty cool, compared to Yuuto -..- I recommed it for harem and romantic comedy fans.

Ohh. Omamri is comedy too D:

Chad - August 15th, 2010 1:23 PM

Yes, and I liked it, too. BUT I can't stand such a 'wimpy' male lead. Junpie from Nyan Koi! is way better, IMO.

BTW, do you guys here download anime or buy them?

I don't know where to buy them, so I download some of them.

Is anybody here still watching Digimon? I heard there is a new anime released :\

I am guessing you are referring to Greymon?

Chad - August 16th, 2010 12:33 AM

Yes, I've tried Xros Wars. It's not that bad and like you said it's slow. The graphics are much better than the last ones, so that's a plus.

Charizard★ August 16th, 2010 5:05 AM

Idk o.o

My parents don't let me buy stuff from the internet.

Kay11190 August 16th, 2010 2:48 PM

You don't buy torrents online you just download them. But no I haven't seen any of the newer digimon series. Where are you guys getting them from. I will give them a look since I'm an old digimon fan.

Chad - August 16th, 2010 2:55 PM

I don't know if it's legal/okay here to link to outside online sources.

Charizard★ August 16th, 2010 2:56 PM

I'm pretty sure its against the rules. Take them out before you get in trouble D:

Kay11190 August 16th, 2010 2:59 PM

Well I've posted links to outside sources in my old Naruto Club and nothing was said. I'm sure it's not that big a deal. Anyway thanx I'll go there and check out some of the stuff and the new digimon series.

Charizard★ August 16th, 2010 3:00 PM

Oh yea, its not against the rules unless they're somewhere to watch Anime XD

Kay11190 August 17th, 2010 11:29 AM

So if I place a link to funimation.com where you can watch animes legitimately it would be against the rule?

Now that, I'd ask an administrator about.

Tell us what answer you get if/when you get an answer!

Chad - August 17th, 2010 11:41 AM

FUNimation is a legitimate US company and I don't why it would be illegal to link to it. But better ask, anyways.

Who downloads anime here and who watches them on online streaming websites?

donavannj August 17th, 2010 11:42 AM

I do both, plus actually watching them on the television on cable/satellite TV stations.

Chad - August 17th, 2010 11:47 AM

The only decent anime channel that my satellite provides is FUNimation. I can't seem to get Anime Network. Does streaming videos take more download usage than, say, downloadable AVI videos, of size 150 MB or such? And both of them have the same episode..

Depends on the quality of the download.

It really depends on the quality and format of the video.

I want to join this club as well. I am an anime-holic! And thanks.

Charizard★ August 17th, 2010 2:22 PM

Oh. Would it be better to download the anime then?

Évan August 17th, 2010 2:26 PM

Not really. A streaming video has the same download size, if you let it buffer or if you download it directly. That is if it's a high quality format, such as AVI or MP4 (I think). Alternatively, you can download anime as encodes, which are reduced to 1/4-ish of the original size.

Oh.

Wait, isn't streaming just going to a site and watching it?

Technically, yes. But you still download a copy of any page you visit on the web, even if you have Private Browsing enabled (which merely deletes the webpages you visit in a private session from your history after you close out of the private session). Streaming a video still ends up with you temporarily downloading it. If you really like a series and will continually watch it, it's probably better to actually download the episodes instead of constantly visiting the streaming sites and eating away some more at your download cap, if you have one.

Yes, by clearing your cache, but... it's more that it counts against your download cap that I recommend downloading if you want to watch and re-watch a series over and over. Unless you have a smaller hard drive or no hard drive space left.

Have you tried downloading from their?

Chad - August 18th, 2010 9:37 AM

I don't like downloading from a streaming website. I prefer to download anime or movies as encodes. They have a pretty good quality (can reach/support up to 720p) and small size downloads.

Gazza August 18th, 2010 9:42 AM

Yeah I used to download from there all the time.
But now I just Torrent.

Charizard★ August 18th, 2010 9:50 AM

Is it possible to get an encode or torrent into .mp4 format? :o

Gazza August 18th, 2010 9:54 AM

Maybe if you search something like "Angel Beats! MP4 Torrent" if not you can always download a video format converter to change Avi to MP4.

How long does it take to open the torrent then? :O

Chad - August 18th, 2010 9:57 AM

Yes, concerning encodes, all encodes are mostly made up of three formats: MP4, MKV, and RM or RMVB. MP4 is a pretty good video format, IMO. Torrents are message formats or files that can distribute small or large files. It is not something related to videos, but something that can distribute them or any program. So, yes, you can find MP4 video formats as torrents, or any other one for that matter.

And torrents are just like downloading a regular file, but from programs such as BitTorrent or uTorrent.

I edited my post to see what programs to use. iPod supports MP4, so this is the best format for it.

Ah, okay thanks :D
Are torrents better then encodes? :P

They are two different things. Torrents are used to distribute programs, such as videos, software, images...Video encoding is a setup/process of converting large, high quality videos into smaller ones, in order for users with slow bandwidth and Internet speed be able to download them, without wasting a lot of usage. Read about torrents somewhere, they can be confusing. I probably wasn't clear at first ><

Oh. Thanks for explaining it.

Are there any sites to download anime torrents from?

Just use Google to search for torrents.

There are a lot available, some of which are better and more active than others. I would suggest http://isohunt.com/, http://www.torrentreactor.net/, or http://www.torrentz.com/ (search engine). Alternatively, if you download BitTorrent o any other torrent software, a built-in search engine (I think ask.com) will be available, and you can download from there directly.

Yeah that's what I do.

And in case you're wondering what seeds and peers are:...
...seeds have the complete file and are actively sharing ... peers are downloading the file and have part of it and usually are sharing pieces also ... high numbers of each are best for speed ... low numbers of seeds and high peers will make it slow .. low numbers on each will also make it slow.
