ChrisG14 November 26th, 2007 3:09 PM

I like HP Grass on Nape for annoying Swamperts. Life Orb on Starmie is basically killing it, so I'd go Choice Specs and Rapid Spin over Psychic. Switch the Attack and Defense EVs on Steelix around, it doesn't need that all that attack. Also, Cursepert isn't all that great because PHazers come in and Haze, Whrilwind, or Roar you away. I like Mixedspert better.

airconditioning November 26th, 2007 3:10 PM

Why HP Grass? Nape can learn Grass Knot.

ChrisG14 November 26th, 2007 3:17 PM

FACEPALM.

I completely ignored Grass Knot, my bad. HP Ice is good.

Sora_8920 November 26th, 2007 3:34 PM

Ah. This is where you pasting it to. :P I actually like Chain Chopm for Garchomp:

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Veil
EV's: 16 Atk / 240 Spd / 252 Satk
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Swords Dance
- Earthqauke
- Fire Blast
- Draco Meter. Omg! It's Chain-Chomp! XD. The idea is to trick the oppoent into thinking it's a Physical Garchomp. ;)

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 12:56 PM

I thought about Chain Chomp, but I need a reliable physical sweeper so I went with Claw,EQ,SD..I think Fire blast is more than enough for Skarm/Steelicks/Forry.

Anti November 27th, 2007 1:03 PM

I think Shiriashi is aware of chainchomp, but is choosing NOT to use it ;/

El Gofre November 27th, 2007 1:05 PM

I perfer protect to curse on swampert, too many pokemon get grass knot

I mean grass knot on raichu? seriously?

Sorry, I have a vendetta against grass knot :)

Anti November 27th, 2007 1:08 PM

Grass Knot is tremendous on Raichu. I mean, pokemon like swampert think they can wall it to death. Make them think again ;)

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 1:12 PM

Anti is right. If your Team, however, already covers Swampert, then use Surf. And Surfing Pikachu's on Shoddy are so easy to get. ;)

luke November 27th, 2007 2:04 PM

I run that EXACT set on my Garchomp and it works wonders. Usually sweeps 3-5 Pokemon if it gets in and set's up. Laughs at Blissey and Cresselia using Ice Beam on it, take the opportunity to Swords Dance, and then sweeps away. Cresselia might pose a problem if it's at full health however.

I quite enjoy that Infernape set. I'd go with Life Orb over Focus Sash as it's not going to live through much anyway.

I prefer Bold over Calm on my Cresselia, but what you have works too.

Not a fan of Steelix (sorry Anti), so can't really help there. Should learn some more about it so I can help more.

Starmie looks good. Glad to see another Psychic-using Starmie out there.

I also suggest no Cursepert. :'( I use Mixpert, but since you already have a Mixed Attacker and you're obviously going for a more tankish Swampert. X.x

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 2:39 PM

I'd go with Life Orb as well. >3

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 2:53 PM

Alrighty, Life orb it is. x-x; Nvm that part about Chomp, if you read it >_>

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 3:08 PM

Actually, I did read it. >3.

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 3:37 PM

NUU. I was gonna run hasty but then I forgot I had a yache berry >_>;;; I do that a lot. Anyways, I'm having a slight Cresselia problem X_x My best bet against it is..Swampert :/ I usually end up getting a CM/Curse War against it >_>;;

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 3:42 PM

Run E-Vire with Adamant Nature, then. <3

Syaoran November 27th, 2007 3:48 PM

I run the same Garchomp set (Adamant or Jolly, don't remember), although I have Fire Fang instead of Fire Blast (hate the accuracy and I'm not going to degrade its defences for this unreliable move). This set works wonders, I'll second that.

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 3:49 PM

Um. You don't judge a Move by it's accuracy. ;)

Syaoran November 27th, 2007 3:53 PM

I do judge a move when it makes me sacrifice things I need.

You do when we're talking Iron Tail ;)

Hey, you were right Shiraishi. I have battled you before.
I remember your Thingy ^_^
I hated it..

The only other thing you could do to stop Cresselias is give Garchomp Crunch but I don't see if fitting in there..

Well it's more personal preferance. Richard Steel Pwned people with Focus blast Alakazam, yet people hate the move for it's accuracy.

I feel if you want fire on Garchomp Fire Fang's your best bet. The accuracy on Fire Blast DOES stink and G-chomp already deson't have that much Sp. Atk.

Idk if you still wana run fire, but if u want to take other dragon's by surprise with your current nature i'd find room for Draco Meteor as your 1 sp. atk. move. Lowers your sp. atk yet you can keep going with physcial ones. Good strategy, though i think it'd take alot of thinking/switching to set up. Just a suggestion....

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 3:56 PM

And Fire Fang does squat to the Walls such as Skarm and Bronzong, who would otherwise, lol at you and Wall you. Frie Blast, on the other hand, would OHKO them. And they do squat to you if it misses. >3 ;)

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 4:01 PM

OHKO? O_o Maybe ChainChomp..2 Hit KO is more like it >.> I doubt I'd get phazed on the first turn, anyway.

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 4:04 PM

Who said anything about Phazing? ;) Yeah. ChainChomp would actually work well fro this Team. ;)

lol, a Naive Garchomp won't 1HKO Skarmory with Fire Blast. It does 58%-68% to full HP no Sp.def EV'd Skarmory. Swords Dance'd Fire Fang will 2HKO it anyway.

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 4:06 PM

Who said anything about Naive? You run Naughty/Lonely. And for the record, it DOEs OHKO them. ;)

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 4:07 PM

If I use ChainChomp, I have no physical sweeper. I'll keep mine thanks >_> Fire blast doesn't require set up, so I prefer it.

Syaoran November 27th, 2007 4:08 PM

It isn't even close without Sp.atk EV investment.

Sora_8920 November 27th, 2007 4:11 PM

That's why you use them. ChaniChomp runs 16 Atk / 252 Satk / 240 Spd. ;)

No it wouldn't. Tell me, who would take care of blissey?

I always like it how Anti brings up the point *Whose the Blissey killer of this team??* =D

Well, when Blissey is on 50% of the teams out there, it kinda becomes an important question. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Image%20Macros/yelwacko.gif

Anti November 27th, 2007 4:28 PM

Cressi COULD outstall bliss, but the opponenet will see Cressi and take it out ;/ So basically, every team has to have a physical sweeper or something to beat blissey. that's why we have garchomp.

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 4:37 PM

Lol, that advice always sticks in my head when I make teams. Swampert is able to switch into T-wave and kill Blissey, I think >.> Infernape just OHKOs it. 3 Blissey killers is my minimum XDD

Syaoran November 27th, 2007 4:43 PM

Swampert isn't killing Blissey anytime soon without Hammer Arm. Even tho it has Curse, Blissey will Seismic Toss to death.

Shiraishi November 27th, 2007 4:52 PM

Curse makes EQ a 2-3 Hit KO. 5-6 Seismic tosses are needed to kill Swampy. I only said 6 because of Lefties recovery.

Syaoran November 27th, 2007 5:03 PM

With Blissey's Softboiled / WishProtect is could become a bit complex, but I never had that situation before.

Anti November 27th, 2007 7:02 PM

Um, I used to use cursepert in ADV (BTW, Mixpert >>>>>>>> Cursepert), and not even that (with rest :0) could beat blissey. Trust me, swampert can't do jack to blissey. Even if you could outstall it, it would just switch out and skarm would PHaze you :/

Glisctillery November 28th, 2007 12:10 PM

i remember that infernape with only 24 ev in atk is a 2 hit ko on blissey

Shiraishi November 28th, 2007 12:19 PM

Damage: 90.90% - 107.00% Thats what I got on a damage calculator :/

Yeah, let's wait until he puts infernape in to prove me wrong on something before he put infernape in. Of course :/

That was conufusing XDD. I'm usin Infernape. O_o I might pump some more Attack EVs for more chances of a OHKO on Bliss, T-Wave cripples him X_x

Sora_8920 November 28th, 2007 3:32 PM

It was supposed to be sarcasm, I eventually got what it meant after that.

Anti November 28th, 2007 3:33 PM

You might want to tag that next time ;)

Abnd if yiou're afraid of Twave, CBcross likes getting paralyzed so it can sweep with guts boosted.

Tag it? Now it's very confusing. X_X

that means putting something like [/sarcasm] ;) And remember, Twave isn't as popular on bliss with McGar runniong around everywhere, or do I have the wrong metagame? lol

Shiraishi November 28th, 2007 5:56 PM

Whats McGar? *feels stupid even though I don't play NB*

Anti November 28th, 2007 5:57 PM

It is subpunching gengar. but ice beam breaks its subs and makes it unable to focus punch you.

Shiraishi November 28th, 2007 6:03 PM

O_o; But it's base Attack is poo. I'm STILL having the ghost coverage dilemma >_< I got eaten by Gengar ._. I'd use Hera, but then my only physical sweeper would be locked on to an attack. >____________>(Assuming I replace Chomp)

Anti November 28th, 2007 6:45 PM

Believe it or not, McGar will destroy bliss with focus punch. It has around 200 Atk EVs, it'll pack a punch.

My only physical attacker is a CBer, there's actually nothing wrong with that ;)

ultranerd57 November 28th, 2007 6:58 PM

This team smoked me :o
But you could switch something for steelix and boost Thingys def to pick up the slack.
