2nd Moderator for Hacks Showcase
I think we should have a second Moderator there because when I submitted my first thread there it took 3 days and Christos was on each day for half an hour at a time. Then Scizz who really helped out with this got the boot and Hiroshi Sotomura only checks active threads for Spammy posts and to leave feedback and to close if needed. I think a second Moderator would make the Hacks Showcase run more smoothly.

I would recommend somebody like Esmas because he is here alot and is always checking out the hacks and is very involved with the Hacks Showcase
|
Iam always go checking the hack-showcase, but i don't care about that stuff.
I would suggest zel...hes a very descent guy and i think he really deserves this. He is always checking around there. EDITED- There are loads of spammy posts there! ~Celebi |
Sure, I guess... and the PRP needs a second mod too.
|
you also have Johnny but he is a supporter and I don't know what would happen if he became a mod.
Zel would be great for it but I asked if he wanted to be a Mod somewhere else and he says its too much work and he would rather do his school work and ROM Hack |
Yeah zel would make a awesome mod because hes kind respecting and calm.
|
Though a second, and generally active moderator for the Hacks Showcase would be good, to help with SPAM and all, I personally do not think it needs one. The best thing to do if you see a SPAM post is to just report it.
|
The hack's showcase needs threads to be approved, so people can't just start one willy nilly -_-
Another Mod would be good, they have more to do then just correct spammy posts |

If you have to wait a little while to get a thread approved, it's not a big deal. People, even mods, have other things to do than be on the PC 24/7. And with the complicated guidelines in that section, there is little chance of noobs getting a thread posted.:\ EDIT: Actually when I think about, it the S-Mods don't really do anything in the Hack Showcase. The only one who did was Jeremy, but he mysteriously disappeared a while ago. However, that doesn't mean that there is need for a new mod. |

e.g., Super Moderators have a job in the forum's altogether threads, all Administrators have a job in the forum's Admin CP and in the forum's altogether threads, and so on. I personally agree that there should be a 2nd moderator in the Hacks Showcase section. |
I think Cartman would be good too as he is active alot in the Hacks Showcase. Teh_Baro however would probably close threads or not approve threads that use Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh in them because he thinks there unoriginal and he might put his feelings into being a mod. Coolboyman would be good because he is active alot. The only problem is that he hates GSC remakes and if he puts his feelings into his work he will close or not approve of there threads. Also, if I pm HS or Christos to ask to do something with my thread whether it be closing it or a name change, they never told me they did it, Scizz always pmed me when he was done. If Scizz does ever come back then a 2nd mod probably wont be needed
|
I say, HackMew will be suitable too... He's always kind and ready to help and I think he would do good work. He's usually online every day and responds quickly. My opinion. But anyways, I miss Scizz...

And Scizz was kicked out, he didn't leave. So the chances of him returning are zero to none. |
Hm, well I think adding second moderator to the Hacks Showcase are would be a good addition, but I still think Christos is good enough to handle the job. The Admins and Mods of PC have better things to do than be on PC all day, they have social lives too. But recently, many hacks have been published to the Hacks Showcase, most of then are useless hacks, with minor storyline changes and mapping changes aswell. Also, Garfieldlover94, Teh Baro does not "hate" Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/ Hacks, he may dislike them, but not hate, besides do you really think the Admins of PC would hire a MOD who is prejudice about certain hacks, NO. But anyways, The Hacks Showcase is not in need of another MOD at the moment and probably will not be for a LONG time. So, Christos can handle the job very well, otherwise, why did PC trust her to be a Mod? Certainly the Staff of PC is not dumb.
|
I think it's fine the way it is. Normal members can help out by just hitting the Report Post button and a Mod can take care of it when they're online. If less people would SPAM, this thread probably wouldn't even be here right now.
|
Sorry to hijack the thread but Games Development could use a new Mod aswell, Avatar really isn't that active.
|
I am not saying Christos is a bad mod. I am just saying she could use some assistance. Jeremy used to be extremely active here but he just dissapeared and is no longer a Super Moderator from what im seeing. There were 4 people in August who Moderated the Hacks Showcase: Christos, Jeremy, Scizz, and Hiroshi Sotomura. Scizz was booted and Jeremy just dissapeared leaving just Christos and Hiroshi Sotomura. And some of the threads I am seeing are not worth being presented. And recently Hiroshi Sotomura has been closing threads there because they weren't too good.
Use the poll |
Well, I still think christos can handle the job, she logs in at least once a day, and seems to keep up with the pace, and yes Jeremy lost his rank and dissapeared all of a sudden, as for Scizz was booted out for unknown reasons...

If anyone bothered to check the Hacks Showcase rules, you would of seen a line similiar to this one:
Threads are not automatically approved, it takes at least 24 hours. It's not like your going to die if you don't have a thread up, it doesn't matter. Having a thread keeps you sidetracked from other things that are important. Also, Hiroshi Sotomura is a Staff Admin, he doesn't just take care of Hacks Showcase, he has to do everything else aswell :l. Sorry, but someone had to say this... |

That being said, I do think any forum that requires post validation for new threads should have more than one moderator to begin with, just in case of emergencies, vacations, and the like. I doubt any Super Mod or Admin would want to use their time to check hacks (something some of the global entities may not be very knowledgeable about) when they have the entire rest of the forum to run, Hiroshi excluded since I know he frequents the Hack forums. Sadly, most people aren't cut out for the job of moderator. And even people whom near everyone agrees on, "oh ____ would make a good mod," aren't always the best, or just plain don't want to do it or deal with the responsibility. It is a lot more work than it seems, as is almost every job out there. Trust me, I know personally what it is like to be a mod. Too bad I quit long ago due to a forum wide flame war. Didn't I have the old hacks forum under my jurisdiction back in the day of GSC hacks? Alas, nostalgia. |
