Yes, but if the post feature is disabled, then the new users might get little or even no welcomings. How great of a way to start a new forum is that?

If you had common sense, forums are for discussing so it's their problem if they feel unwelcomed just because no one welcomed them. Honestly, I think we should delete the whole forum all together but the upper staff probably won't agree because thousands of posts will be lost. By deleting it, we'll probably be having less bandwidth troubles. :D

*sighs* You know, We've had this discussion before. >_>

Like I said in the old thread. It'd be plain inhospitable of us to not allow a newb to get his/her first few posts in the new users section. Think back to when you were new. You probably didnt know people. It's a perfect way to break the ice and find out if a new member will turn out to be a spammer or not. I'll say no more since this debate is useless in my opinion

Too bad it isn't the new users that are the problem. It's the people falsely "welcoming" the newcomers with copy/pasted responses to get tons and tons post counts. The many (or spammers) ruins things for the few (or rather newbies), as always in this world.

Now, if there was a way to make new threads count as a post, yet replies not count in that forum, that would solve that problem.

Or the post count only goes for the person that made thread.
