My new team
I'm really new at battling, so this is pretty much my firs team. Tell me what you think about it.
Lvl 71 Dragonite Mild nature In the progress of being ev trained in attack Outrage Fly Dragon claw Waterfall LvL 50 Umbreon Relaxed nature Defense at 174 Confuse ray Bite Growl Sand-attack LvL 58 Tyranitar Careful Nature Will be ev trained in attack Stone edge Earthquake Crunch Screech LvL 50 Electrivire Gentle Attack at 175 Thunder punch Fire punch Ice punch Low kick LvL 50 Infernape Timid Nature Attack at 140 Close Combat Leer Torment Flame Wheel(I'm still trying to get new moves for it) LvL 60 haunter (or I'll lvl up my duskull) Bold Nature Will be ev trained in sp. attack Dream eater Dark pulse Hypnosis Nightmare Yeah it definetly needs some more work, but I don't know where to go. Some of the natures are messed up I bet, but I only have one of each pokemon. |
Ok, before I help, let me ask you.
Is this for Online Battling? Y'know, compettitive style? |
Yeah. My first serious team that has some thought put into it.
|
Okay, 1.) NEVER put attack moves on Umbreon. And no, there's no serious thought put into it. It sucks.
Umbreon @ Leftovers Trait: Synchronize Impish / Bold Nature - Wish - Baton Pass - Mean Look - Yawn. Nothing else for the last slot really.. |

You need to think of IVs, EVs, Natures, and what's strong enough, and what's pathetically weak, that should and should not be used. In other words, you need to rebreed everything. |

Besides nature, do you have anything specific you would like to suggest?
|
Uh. Ev's, Items, ect. Is what would suggest adding to your Team in the first post. since we need that info. Or at least to be able to give a more effective rate.

First off, don't give us what you have. Give us what your planning to do. For instance, are you REALLY planning on using Dragonair? Haunter? I know you mean Dragonite & Gengar, so post those. While I'm on that, don't post lvls. On Wi-fi, all levels are set to 100. Plus, as I always saay, its pathetic to brag about lvls (Not that you were:)), because the max is 100. My friends used to say, "I have a lvl 74 Blastiose!". I say "Who cares, the max is 100, just blindly lvl up. In short, don't post lvls. Also, give a real EV plan. Saying "EV training in ATK" means nothing. We only care about numbers. If you can't figure out an exact #, give us more specific plans. So your training in ATK, what else? There are 5 other stats. Now, you need to learn the basics. check out Azonic's thread, Building a perfect team. Wow, you guys post fast. & Thanks for the welcome, Iceman3k & Itachi! |

If you're really not that keen to the metagame, then perhaps you should read this here guide. Afterward, feel free to post a team in the following format: Pokemon @ Item Ability: Ability IVs (Optional, recommended for more accurate EVs) EVs: Required field. Nature: Insert Nature here - Attack 1 - Attack 2 - Attack 3 - Attack 4 (Description of Attack Plan) (Optional) |

Tell us what the finished team is gonna be. any unfinished team is not working at full efficiency so will get nailed. We need planned EVs natures and movesets if we are to help.
|
Gofre, that wasn't necessary. What you said was already covered in the previous posts. If you have nothing new to say, don't bother posting.
|
since this is competative I highly suggest you listen to the guys, i don't see your point in using a Dragonair as Dragonite wouuld be better, sand attack is generaly worhtless and is banned in standard play, Levels don't mean a thing when on wifi since it just boosts your lvl to 100.... yeah post Ev's and natures...
|
It's a dragonite. I keep typing dragonair instead of 'nite.
|
As I said, we don't care what you have NOW, just what you are planning to use for the end result. So posting things like this
LvL 60 haunter (or I'll lvl up my duskull) Bold Nature Will be ev trained in sp. attack Dream eater Dark pulse Hypnosis Nightmare is useless. You know as well as I do, that isn't good. So post what you are planning to use. At least post it as Gengar. |
Thanks for telling me how to fix my team up. :)

Oh, Itachi, you got OWNED!
BTW, don't use HMs. The only good ones are Waterfall and Surf. Natures need help, too. Go to Serebii and read up. |

Yes, he is right to point out that minor spelling error. There is a big difference in movepool & moveset. Movepool is every move that the poke can learn, be it breed or otherwise. Move SETS are the four chosen moves. He only meant to help, as there is a big difference, on just those words alone. If you don't wan't your errors called out, don't post a RMT thread. Quote:
|
Sorry Itachi, it was only a joke.
|
Anyways, I'll try and get a better move set for my pokemon. Thanks for suggesting moves for me, sims. I was really clueless and what to do with my pokemon. Maybe I'll stand some sort of a chance in battling.
|
While your at it, thank Iceman & Itachi. They gave useful advice as well. Hell, Itachi even gave you a great Umbreon set that wen't ignored.

Honestly guys, half this thread was filled with useless posts. >.>;;; If you don't have anything to post relating to the team, take it to PM.
Let a moderator come in and take care of whatever is wrong... |
?
We've done nothing but comment on her team. Or at the very least, gave her some sort of helpful advice In fact, that was the last post. Just cause we don't give her an exact comment on her team, doesn't mean we're not helping. Not all helpful advice is just on paper. On topic, Dragonite is fine, you were using it wrong. However, I see Milotic helping this team alot. You lack a special wall. (Ironic, ain't it? That was your first thread!) |
Quote:
Really deep down, though. And yes, Milotic would help a great deal. I'd recommend replacing Electivire or Infernape (preferably Vire, IMO) with her. Milotic @ Leftovers Bold 148 HP/ 240 Def/ 120 SAtk -Surf -Hidden Power [Electric] -Hypnosis -Recover If you don't want to breed for Hidden Power, I understand. You can replace it with Ice Beam. Just keep in mind that it's more likely that you'll be walled by bulky waters with that set. |
Quote:
You are replacing Dragonite, eh? I say replace Tyranitar, as being Sandbagged it the face by his ability does you no good. |
What's wrong with spoon-feeding someone answers? When I was new, I wish someone spoon fed me answers.
|
Maybe you should update your first post with all the changes you made.
@airconditioning: They aren't babies. They expect us to do all the work for them. We give 'em a rate. We won't make you the team. We give suggestions, yet they think they know more. |
Please, before this develops into an argument, take it to a PM or drop it. Scorpyo, it would be wise to update your first post like sims said. Some people just look at that one and rate from there without seeing the changes you made.
|
That, you don't need to worry about. Were friends, we won't argue or flame over something so small.
|
Sims, in case your brain hasn't processed it yet, since it's only been about a month and I'm not sure your brain works that fast, Loquacity has a bold/steel blue name. Which means he's a moderator. Which means you need to pay attention to him and not argue with him.
|
Haha... yeah very funny
Anyways, I always liked Thunderpunch/Stone Edge/HP Ice on Infernape |
I think you meant to include Flamethrower / Fire Blast in that move set Name. Here's the full set:
Infernape @ Expert Belt / Life Orb / Focus Sash Trait: Blaze Nature: Naive EV Spread: 26 ATK / 252 SPD / 232 SPATK Flamethrower / Fire Blast Close Combat Stone Edge / Grass Knot / Hidden Power [Ice] Thunder Punch / Hidden Power [Ice] |
Just so everyone knows this, I'm taking everyone's ideas on my team. But:
Since it's obvious nobody like this team, I'm going to re level up a new team. If you're curious to see it, I'll edit the topic starter so it shows my new team. |
well you honestly should care more about evs and not actual levels, since levels don't mean a thing anymore, just keep that in mind
|
Quote:
I would call it a novelty, but Swampert would give you troubles without Grass Knot, but since Grass Knot is so predicted on Infernape, it might not matter Good Set |
